PRECAUTIONS
■For the AC adapter
RWARNING! NEVER use the AC adapter with any de-
vice other than the IP1000C. This may result in an electrical
shock, cause a fire or damage the AC adapter.
RWARNING! Connect the adapter into an outlet between
100 V and 240 V AC. Otherwise, this may result in an electri-
cal shock, cause a fire or damage the AC adapter.
RWARNING! NEVER install the AC adapter to wet place
outside or near a humidifier. This may result in an electrical
shock, cause a fire or damage the AC adapter.
RWARNING! NEVER put something heavy on the AC
adapter cable. This may result in an electrical shock, cause
a fire or damage the AC adapter.
RWARNING! NEVER modify, bend by force, twist, pull or
heat the AC adapter’s cable. This may result in an electrical
shock, cause a fire or damage the AC adapter.
RWARNING! NEVER touch the AC adapter with wet
hands. This may result in an electrical shock or damage the
AC adapter.
RWARNING! Use and place the AC adapter and connec-
tion cable to avoid inadvertent use by children. This may re-
sult in an electrical shock or cause injury.
■Other precautions
• For information about operating the PC or external devices,
refer to their instruction manuals for details.
• The supplied AC adapter may at some time need to be re-
placed, depending on its life expectancy. The life of an AC
adaptor differs according to the environment or condition in
which the adaptor is used.
We recommend replacement when it has been used for ap-
proximately 5 years (When used under the ambient temper-
ature of 25°C; 77°F). Contact your local dealer for details.
FCC INFORMATION
CAUTION: Any changes or modifications not expressly ap-
proved by the party responsible for compliance
could void the user’s authority to operate the
equipment.
FOR CLASS B UNINTENTIONAL RADIATORS:
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with
the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of
the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reason-
able protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate
radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in ac-
cordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interfer-
ence to radio communications. However, there is no guaran-
tee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or
television reception, which can be determined by turning the
equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct
the interference by one or more of the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and re-
ceiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different
from that to which the receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician
for help.
ABOUT CE
Versions of the IP1000C which display the “CE”
symbol on the serial number label comply with the
essential requirements of the 2014/30/EU directive
for Electromagnetic Compatibility and the 2001/95/EC direc-
tive for General Product Safety.
DISPOSAL
The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol on your
product, literature, or packaging reminds you
that in the European Union, all electrical and
electronic products, batteries, and accumula-
tors (rechargeable batteries) must be taken to
designated collection locations at the end of
their working life. Do not dispose of these prod-
ucts as unsorted municipal waste. Dispose of them accord-
ing to the laws in your area
■For the IP1000C
RWARNING! NEVER use other than the supplied AC
adapter. This may result in an electrical shock, cause a fire
or damage the IP1000C.
RWARNING! NEVER attempt to connect the AC adapter
to other than the [DC] jack on the IP1000C rear panel. This
may result in an electrical shock, cause a fire or damage the
IP1000C.
RWARNING! NEVER disassemble, modify or repair the
IP1000C. This may result in an electrical shock, cause a fire
or damage the IP1000C.
RWARNING! NEVER install the IP1000C in a wet place
or outside.This may result in an electrical shock, cause a fire
or damage the IP1000C.
RWARNING! NEVER operate or touch the IP1000C with
wet hands. This may result in an electrical shock or damage
the IP1000C.
RWARNING! NEVER connect the ground terminal to a
gas or electric pipe. This may result in an electrical shock or
cause a fire.
RWARNING!
NEVER use the IP1000C during a lightning
storm. It may result in an electric shock, cause a fire or
damage the IP1000C. Always disconnect the AC adapter
before a storm.
RWARNING! Immediately disconnect the AC adapter if
the IP1000C emits an abnormal odor, sound or smoke. Con-
tact your Icom dealer or distributor for advice.
RWARNING! NEVER put the IP1000C in any unstable
place (such as on a slanted surface or vibrating place). This
may cause injury and/or damage to the IP1000C.
CAUTION:
NEVER install the
IP1000C
in
a place without
air vents. Heat dissipation may be reduced, and
this could
damage the IP1000C

CAUTION: DO NOT use or place the IP1000C in areas with
temperatures below 0ç(+32ƒ) or above +40ç(+104ƒ).

This could damage the IP1000C.

fields or in an area with high static electricity.

Disconnect the AC adapter when you will not

or alcohol when cleaning, because they will damage the
IP1000C’s surfaces.
Always place the IP1000C in a secure place to avoid inad-
vertent contact with unauthorized persons.

IP1000C.

before using the IP1000C.

INITIALIZING IP1000C
ABOUT THE FIRMWARE UPDATE FUNCTION
When [MSG] lights green
Disconnect all cables from the IP1000C, and then con-
nect the AC adapter.
• Verify that the [PWR] indicator lights green.
Push in and hold [INIT] with a pin on the rear panel until
all indicators on the front panel light orange, and then
release.
• When the initialization has been completed, [PWR]
lights green.
This function lights the [MSG] LED green to indicate that an
IP1000C update is available.
• To use the Firmware Update function, an internet connection,
DNS and default gateway settings are necessary.
See the IP1000C instruction manual for the setting details, or
contact your Icom dealer or distributor for advice.
NOTE:
• NEVER turn OFF the power until the update has complet-
ed. Otherwise, the IP1000C firmware may be damaged.
• The firmware update cannot be performed during a conver-
sation using the IP1000C.
*Indications other than [PWR] and [MSG] may differ, depending on
the network environment (Except for when all LEDs light.)

If you cannot access to the IP1000C setting screen, you can initialize (reset) the IP1000C by pushing [INIT] on the rear panel.
• This initializing resets all settings to the factory defaults.
• See the IP1000C instruction manual for initializing from the setting screen.
When [MSG] lights green, a firmware update is available. Follow
the procedures below to download and install the new firmware.
Push in and hold [UPDATE] with a pin on the front panel until
[MSG]
blinks, and then release.
• The IP1000C automatically starts the download and updates
the firmware, and then reboots.

ABOUT THE AUTOMATIC FIRMWARE UPDATE FOR THE IP100H
The IP100H has a function that checks for a firmware update while booting. If available, the IP100H automatically updates and
then reboots when the update has completed.
• The firmware may be updated and the IP100H reboots right after turning ON the power.
• This “Automatic Firmware Update at Power ON” function can be set in Transceiver Settings > Transceiver Settings > Maintenance of
the IP1000C setting screen.
