The Manual is an integral part of the product and should be delivered to the end user along with the equipment.
Please read this manual carefully before operating the Mipod.
Please keep this manual on hand for future reference.
The manual provides an introduction to the Mipod and details safe rules for operating, installing and maintenance, to ensure
trouble-free and safe operation and a long service life.
The warnings referred to in the manual are aimed at ensuring safe operation of the Mipod, it is important that the safety
features provided are fully understood by all users to be fully effective.
If the Mipod is subject to resale or passed to another owner or to be relocated, please make sure that the manual is transferred
together with the Mipod, to the new owner or users.
2. Description
The Mipod’s are provided in two sizes either as an all in one product with the chilling (and optional heating ) systems built
inside the pool body under the internal steps and fully enclosed.
An alternative version is also available for the pool to be connected to a remote chiller (heater) that can be placed in any
convenient place nearby. This version is ideal where the MiPod is installed in a small room or where several MiPods are
installed in the same room to keep all sound and heat generated by the cooling systems away from the pool.
An optional stainless steel ladder is available for all models that can be easily installed on any of the pool’s 4 sides.

PageiCool Compact Series |Owners Manual 07
24/7 operation is acceptable, electronically controlled to provide lowest possible running cost
Recommended temp for ice bath recovery : 8 -10ºC (46-50ºF) is recommended by most sports science experts.
4. Requirements of the room
The area of the room where the Mipod is installed should not be less than 6 Sq Meters (65Sq Ft) for best results
The door frames should be at least 780mm wide (32 inches) to allow the Mipod to be easily carried inside.
Airflow: Models with internal chillers must be at least 300mm from all walls to allow proper ventilation and airflow
for the refrigeration system to remove the heat from the water. Read more on Safety issues section 7.
We recommend having good ventilated in to the room or to use air conditioning.
A 3 pin grounded power outlet is absolutely mandatory for user safety. Never use a 2 pin plug it could be dangerous.
Your MiPod is fitted with an electrical safety device to protect users, but it must have an earthed power socket.
Avoid the use of long extension cords as they result in voltage drops that may trigger the inbuilt safety system.
Ambient room temperature around all models with inbuilt chillers should be 10-25ºC for best results.(50-77F)
(5º to 40º (40-104F) is the Maximum operating range allowed.
If you experience very cold weather, do allow the pool water to freeze or serious damage could occur.
If freezing conditions are expected in the room where the MiPod is installed , empty the water or turn on the
heating if your model has that function to keep the water above freezing. Also do not allow external chillers
to freeze. If you have an external chiller empty the water from it if severe freezing weather is expected.
5. Basic Set up
Level Surface: The surface should be flat, level, with no inclination if possible.
If surface is not level then suitable packing will be required under the Mipod to ensure that water is level.
Once the Mipod is filled with water, it will be too heavy to move so make sure it is correctly positioned and level.
Essential Ventilation: The large rear vent and both side vents must be at least 300mm (1 foot) from all walls or obstruction to
allow enough cooling airflow to the refrigeration sytem or it may overheat and cause the safety system to shut it down.
Your MiPod has many safety features built in, it will stop if it has no water, or if it is too hot. The screen will show the problem.
Connect the blue data cable from the screen to the MiPod and the power cable to a standard power outlet first. If you have an
external chiller then the plumbing pipes between it and the MiPod and the external chiller must be connected as well.
For models with built in refrigeration units......
a) Connect the power cable to a 3 pin earthed wall socket rated at least 12 amps at 220 volts (25amps at 110volts)
b) Plug in the provided data cable to the socket located under the rear of the touch screen
c) Mount the screen on a wall or where required and Swtich ON the wall power outlet supplying the MiPod.
d) Check that the screen is working , a welcome page will appear on the touch screen.
If the screen does not light up, please make sure that:
The MiPod power cable is lugged into a wall socket directly, do not use long extension cables.
Check that the electrical safety device (RCD) is switched on – this is inside the MiPod and is normally turned on at
the factory, but if the screen does not light up you should check that it is actually ON. You will need to open the small air vent
on the right side vent (on the right when standing in front of the large black vent on the back) Look inside and up to the
left and you will see the narrow main power panel with a safety device at the top of the panel. It has a large black switch and
an orange button. The black switch must be in the UP position. Please be aware that if your MiPod ever detects a potential
electrical safety risk this switch will instantly turn off all electric power to your MiPod. Always have an electrician inspect your
MiPod for safety should this ever happen and before turning it back on.
While the vent is open also check that the Blue data cable is well connected to the bottom of the narrow electrical panel.

PageiCool Compact Series |Owners Manual 08
How To Use Your MiPod
For models with external refrigeration units......
In addition to all points in the previous section...........
a) Connect the 2 water pipes between the MiPod and the external chiller as illustated elsewhere in the manual.
b) Add insulation to the full length of the 2 water pipes, otherwise a lot of cold energy will be lost to the surrounds.
b) If you have requested an external touch screen, connect the data cable between the external chiller and the touch
screen and mount the touch screen in a suitable place for easy access.
If your chiller has the touch screen factory installed in the chiller cabinet then no further action is required.
6. Fill with water
Fill pool with water but allow enough space above the water to handle the water displacement and prevent overflow
when users enter the pool. This is particularly important if you intend to have 2 or 3 people use the MiPod Pro at the same
time. 3 people will displace a lot of water.
A permanent water connection is not required. Simply fill your MiPod with a hose.
Once it’s filled up, turn the main power on and the touch screen will light up with a welcome screen.
7. Operation
Pool must be filled with water to at least cover the top water fitting or it will draw air and cause the safety system to shut the
system down.
Once filled turn on the main electric power at the wall outlet.
The page shown below will appear after a short time. It takes up to 30 seconds for the system to self test. Wait until the page
appears before you touch the screen.
Tap the screen anywhere to proceed..............

Continuous “Always Available” Operation.
Your MiCool has been manufactured using quality components from the world’s leading manufacturers
and is therefore capable of continuous 24/7 operation.
Therefore, if you wish to have your pool available at your desired temperate at any time of the day or
night then you can leave it running continuously at very low operating cost.
A sophisticated power management system is included that will automatically use several sensors to
evaluate all conditions and adjust to use the lowest power possible to maintain your set temperature.
Because of the extremely effective insulation it will only need to operate for a short time each day to
maintain your desired temperature and always be ready for use.
In summary, it is so efficient that if you use it every day it will cost less to operate if you leave it running
continuously.

Trouble shooting
The most common issue that can prevent successful operation is lack of water flow. The touch screen
lights will turn ORANGE if this happens.
It can also occur if air is trapped in the water pipes or the pump, or if flow is restricted by a blocked water
inlet. The MiPod will attempt to clear it automatically several times by surging the pump to dislodge the
trapped air or debris in the pipes. If after several attempts it can not correct the lack of water flow, it will
shut the machine down and warn you that action must be taken to correct it.
Water Flow Alarm
Your MiPod will attempt to correct any water flow problems, but occassionall this may not be
possible.
An explanation will appear in the middle of the screen to notify you that the chiller has stopped.
Your MiPod can not continue until the reason for the lack of water is found. This is important because
such a powerful machine could easily freeze the remaining water in the titanium heat exchanger tanks
solid and that could cause serious damage. The operating system will not allow that to happen.

Page 15iCool Compact Series |Owners Manual
This message will appear if the MiPod is unable to correct the water flow Problem
in Itself
In this case you must take further action to correct the problem.
If it can fix the water flow automatically then this message will appear
No action is needed, it will continue to operate correctly.

Page 16iCool Compact Series |Owners Manual
Important Safety Warnings
iCools can only be connected to the voltage
markedonthe machine. Theyaremanufactured
as either 110v or 220v machines, but they are
not multi-voltage. Using a different voltage
may cause severe damage. All models can be
used on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz AC supplies.
To ensure safe operation only connect to power
sockets that meet your your local electrical
safety regulations. The MiPod must have an
approved earth connection that complies with
all safety regulations to ensure that the built in
safety devices can provide full protection.
Power Supply Voltage An Approved Earth Connection Is
Essential For Safe Operation
Your iCool has many essential safety features to
protect against such things as:
A loss of water flow
Overheating of the system
Electrical shock protection
If any such potentially dangerous situation
should occur, in most cases your iCool will
sound an alarm, shut itself down and a warning
screen will appear to assist you to identify and
correct the problem. Further assistance is
usually available under the “Help” menus.
In the case of overheating, the large main fan
may continue to run for some time even after a
shut down, until the temperature is safely back
to normal.
For the safety of users, any leakage of even a
small amount of electrical current will instantly
cause the Residual Current Device to remove
all electrical power from the entire system. The
maximum leakage allowed is 30 milliamperes
which is considered to be a generally harmless
level.
Built In Safety Systems
The built in residual earth leakage safety system
can only protect users against electric shock
from the MiPod. It can not protect against
faults in other unrelated electric devices in the
area. All electric devices in any pool area must
only be connected to a power supply that has
a residual earth leakage device either at the
main switch board or on the device itself. Never
risk using unprotected or unearthed electrical
devices near water.
Limits To The Electric Shock
Protection System
The power input socket must be connected to
a standard AC power capable of providing at
least 13 amps in countries with a 220 V supply
and 26 amps in countries with a 110 V supply.
The MiPod requires much less power than this
for normal operation, however all heat pump
compressor motors need considerably more
power for up to a minute each time they start
up and this must be allowed for.
Electrical Power Requirements

Page 17iCool Compact Series |Owners Manual
This is a very rare issue, but if the screen freezes
while the MiPod is running normally, the main
computer will usually still carry on running the
system and monitoring the safety features but
you will not be able to change anything and the
displayed temperatures will not update. You can
either allow it to keep running if that is more
convenient, or you can restore the system to
normal operation by switching off the main
power and re starting.
If the problem persists please contact iCool at
The cooling unit inside your MiPod can move
large amounts of heat per hour. Naturally this
heat has to be removed into the air surrounding
the system. The powerful fan can normally
handle this with ease, however if the air flow
around the MiPod is restricted so that the heat
can not escape, or the outside air temperature
is more than 45ºC, eventually the system will
reach the limit of its safe operating range.
If the temperature inside the cabinet reaches
68ºC the safety system will shut it down, sound
an alarm and display the warning screen. The
screen will give advice as to when it can be
safely restarted. This may incur if the airflow is
blocked by being placed too close to a wall or if
an object such as a bath towel is blocking the
air flow.
Cooling a pool that has previously been heated
can also cause a heat overload warning and
shut down. This will only occur if the pool is still
above 30-35ºC. It is good practice to allow the
heat to reduce naturally to below 30ºC before
starting the cooling cycle. This also saves a lot
of electricity.
Always make sure that all vents are not covered
or restricted and that the area has a good flow
of fresh air. Never place the side of the MiPod
closer than 300mm (12 inches) from a wall or
other obstruction that could restrict the flow
of cooling air.

The unit inside the MiPod is very powerful and
is capable of removing up to 6000 watts of heat
from the water. (20,000 BTUs) Depending on
the model.
To remove waste heat from the powerful heat
pump a high flow rate cooling fan is installed.
The fan is designed to move up to 2000 cubic
feet of air per minute. Air flow must never be
blocked by any object.
On very hot days when the air temperature is
more than 45ºC it may not be possible to run
the system at full power due to the excessive
heat.
If the temperature inside the unit exceeds 68ºC
the over heat safety circuit will operate and
shut it down. This may occur either in very hot
weather, or if the airflow is blocked by being
placed too close to a wall or if an object such as
a bath towel is blocking the air flow.
Operation In Very Hot Weather
MiPods specifically ordered for countries that
have extreme weather conditions that drop well
below freezing may have an anti-freeze system
installed.
This function is automatic and will cause the
machine to stop occasionally to melt any build
up of ice.
All MiPods must never be allowed to freeze the
water in the pool or the machinery.
If below freezing conditions are expected in the
installed area please remove the water from the
pool and the chiller to prevent expanding ice
damage.
