Dear Customer,
please note the following information about the compatibility of USB
enclosures and adapters, including this device!
• Your host computer must have a USB Type C™interface.
• The IB-1820M-C31 also works with computers and notebooks with USB
3.0/2.0/1.1 Type-A interfaces as long as the appropriate adapter is
available.
• The enclosure also works on devices with a Thunderbolt™3 interface with
transfer rates of up to 10 Gbit/s specified by USB 3.1 (Gen 2).
• The Type-C™interface can be connected with USB 3.0 or 2.0 standard in
some notebooks and computers. The enclosure only supplies the full data
transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s to USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Type-C™interfaces.
• The following operating systems are supported: Windows®, macOS®

1. Open the cover by unscrew the 4
screws at the edges of the cover.
2. Place the thermal pad directly on the
SSD. Put the heat sink on top and insert
the SSD (in an angel of 30°). Then fix
the SSD with the screw and the spacer.
3. Insert the PCB tray back into the
enclosure and fix the cover with the 4
screws.

4. To connect the drive to the PC, push the button down and slide the
Type-C™port out of the enclosure.
5. To store the enclosure and protect the Type-C™port, press and pull the
button and slide the Type-C™port back into the enclosure.
Application
1. The external SSD can be connected to or disconnected from the com-
puter without shutting down the computer.
2. Please await the end of read/write operations before disconnecting
the SSD to avoid data loss.
3. A new SSD must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted by the
operation system to be displayed by the system.
4. If the drive isn’t recognized instantly by the operating system please
check:
- if the driver software is installed (USB),
- if the SSD is initialized, partitioned and formatted.
Info
Drives must be initialized and have active partitions to be immediately recog-
nized as volumes in the operating system. If this is not the case, initialize the
drives in the volume management of your operating system.
The full USB 3.1 (Gen 2) transfer rate can only be achieved with a compatible
USB 3.1 (Gen 2) host computer. Furthermore, the USB 3.1 drivers must be
installed by the operating system. If this is not the case, install the appropriate
drivers for your operating system (Windows®, macOS®).

Sehr geehrter Kunde,
nehmen Sie bitte folgende Informationen zur Kompatibilität von USB Type-C™
Geräten, inklusive diesem Gehäuse, zur Kenntnis!
• Ihr Hostcomputer muss über eine USB Type-C™Schnittstelle verfügen.
• Die IB-1820M-C31 arbeitet auch mit Computern und Notebooks mit
USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 Type-A Schnittstellen sofern der passende Adapter
vorhanden ist.
• Das Gehäuse arbeitet ebenfalls an Geräten mit der Thunderbolt™3
Schnittstelle mit der von USB 3.1 (Gen2) angegebenen Transferrate
von 10 Gbit/s.
• Die Type-C™Schnittstelle selbst kann in einigen Computern und
Notebooks mit USB 3.0 / 2.0 angebunden sein. Das Gehäuse liefert
nur an USB 3.1 (Gen2) Type-C™die volle Datenübertragungsrate von
bis zu 10 Gbit/s.

1. Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung indem
Sie die Schrauben in den Ecken
entfernen.
2. Platzieren Sie das Wärmeleitpad
direkt auf die SSD. Befestigen Sie dann
den Kühlkörper darauf und setzen Sie
die SSD (in einem Winkel von 30°) ein.
Danach befestigen Sie die SSD mit der
Schraube und dem Abstandshalter.
3. Stecken Sie die PCB wieder in das
Gehäuse und befestigen Sie die Ab-
deckung mit den 4 Schrauben.

4. Um das Laufwerk an den PC anzuschließen, drücken Sie den Schiebe-
mechanismus herunter und schieben Sie den USB Type-C™Anschluss
aus dem Gehäuse.
5. Um das Gehäuse zu verstauen und den Type-C™Anschluss zu schüt-
zen, drücken und ziehen Sie den Schiebemechanismus und schieben
Sie den Type-C™Anschluss zurück in das Gehäuse.
Anwendung
1. Die externe SSD kann im laufenden Betrieb des Rechners angeschlos-
sen oder von diesem getrennt werden.
2. Bitte das Ende von Schreib- und Lesevorgängen abwarten bevor ein
angeschlossenes Gehäuse vom Rechner getrennt wird, um Datenverlust
zu vermeiden.
3. Eine neue SSD muss vom Betriebssystem erst initialisiert, partitioniert
und formatiert werden, um vom System angezeigt zu werden.
4. Wenn die SSD nicht sofort vom System erkannt wird bitte prüfen:
- ob die Treibersoftware installiert ist (USB),
- ob die SSD initialisiert, partitioniert und formatiert ist.
Info
Laufwerke müssen initialisiert sein und aktive Partitionen besitzen, damit diese
sofort als Datenträger im Betriebssystem erkannt werden. Falls dies nicht der
Fall sein sollte, initialisieren Sie die Laufwerke in der Datenträgerverwaltung
Ihres Betriebssystems.
Die volle USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Transferrate kann nur mit einem kompatiblen USB
3.1 (Gen 2) Hostcomputer erreicht werden. Des Weiteren müssen die USB
3.1 Treiber seitens des Betriebssystems installiert sein. Sollte dies nicht der Fall
sein, installieren Sie die passenden Treiber für Ihr Betriebssystem (Windows®,
