Please note the following information about the compatibility of USB
Type-C™enclosures and adapters, including this device!
• Your host computer must have a USB Type C™or Type-A interface.
• The IB-1823MF-C31 also works with computers and notebooks with USB
3.0/2.0/1.1 Type-A interfaces by using the enclosed USB-Type-C™to
type-A cable.
• The enclosure also works on devices with a Thunderbolt™3 interface with the
transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s specified by USB 3.1 (Gen 2)
• The Type-C™or Type-A plug can be connected with USB 3.0 or 2.0 stan-
dard in some notebooks and computers. The enclosure only supplies the full
data transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s to USB 3.1 (Gen 2) interfaces.
• The following operating systems are supported: Windows®, macOS®

With the help of the external USB 3.1 Type-C

enclosure IB-1823MF-C31 you
can take one NVMe SSD with you quickly and easily. It allows access to M.2
SSDs of up to 2 TB no matter to which host you connect it. The IB-1823MF-C31
is compatible with M.2 cards of 30, 42, 60 and 80 mm length, suitable for a
variety of applications such as high-speed storage, cloning a drive or running a
mobile operating system.
With the IB-1823MF-C31, sensitive data can now be protected against changes
and released again via a switch. The switch on the IB-1823MF-C31 can be

Installation
Attention: During the drive assembly all cabling has to be disconnected from the
computer.
1. Take out the PCB.
4. Place the delivered thermal
pad directly to the SSD.
5. Put the heat sink on the thermal
pad and align the notch to the
screw nut.
2. Combine the circular notch of
the round M.2 holder with the
semi-circular notch of the M.2
SSD and hold it with one finger
(the thinner side upwards).
Insert your SSD carefully with
the connection side into the
M.2 socket at an angle of
about 30° so it fits in smoothly.
3. Then push the SSD down and
fix the M.2 nut with screw as
displayed.

6. Install the PCB back into
the track inside the housing.
Pay attention to the correct
alignment!
7. Install the cover and fasten
two screws. Please make sure
the write protection switch
is placed in the square hole
when installing the cover.

Usage
• Connect the IB-1823MF-C31 via the delivered cable to the corresponding
port of your host computer.
• Hint: Using the USB Type-A to Type-C™adapter on host side only.
• When the IB-1823MF-C31 has been plugged correctly the LED will turn
on white!
• As soon as the write protection has been activated by switch, the status
LED turns to red*
*Attention! Changing of the write-protect mode will only be activated
when the device has been disconnected and then reconnected to the host
computer.
• The fan always rotates when the SSD is running. Depending on your
power settings, the fan will stop rotating when the SSD turns to standby.

Application
• The external SSD can be connected to or disconnected from the computer
without shutting down the computer.
• Please await the end of read/write operations before disconnecting the
SSD to avoid data lost.
• A new SSD must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted by the
operation system to be displayed by the system.
• If the drive isn’t recognized instantly by the operating system please check:
• if the driver software is installed (USB).
• if the SSD is initialized, partitioned and formatted.
Hint: Drives must be initialized and have active partitions to be immediately
recognized as volumes in the operating system. If this is not the case, initialize
the drives in the volume management of your operating system.
The full USB 3.1 (Gen2) transfer rate can only be achieved with a compatible
USB 3.1 (Gen2) host computer. Furthermore, the USB 3.1 drivers must be
installed by the operating system. If this is not the case, install the appropriate
drivers for your operating system (Windows®, macOS®).

Mit dem externen USB 3.1 Typ-C
™
Gehäuse IB-1823MF-C31 können Sie
eine NVMe SSD schnell und einfach mitnehmen. Es erlaubt Zugriff auf M.2
Datenträger von bis zu 2 TB, egal mit welchem Host Sie es verbinden. Die
IB-1823MF-C31 ist kompatibel mit M.2 SSDs der Längen 30, 42, 60 und 80
mm, für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen wie Hochgeschwindigkeitsspeicherung,
Klonen eines Laufwerks oder das Ausführen eines mobilen Betriebssystems
geeignet. Mit der IB-1823MF-C31 können sensible Daten auf der verbauten
M.2 SSD per Schalter vor Veränderungen geschützt und wieder freigegeben
werden. Mit einer kleinen Handbewegung lässt sich der dafür zuständige Schal-

Einbau
Achtung: Während der Installation des Laufwerks darf das Gehäuse nicht am
Computer angeschlossen sein.

1. Entnehmen Sie die Platine.
4. Bringen Sie das mitgelieferte
Wärmeleitpad direkt auf der einge-
bauten SSD an.
2. Setzen Sie die runde M.2
Halterung in die halbkreisförmige
Aussparung am Ende der M.2 SSD
ein und halten diese mit einem Fin-
ger fest (dünnere Seite nach oben).
Platzieren Sie Ihre SSD vorsichtig
mit der Anschlussseite und in einem
Winkel von ca. 30° in den M.2-
Slot, so dass sie sich widerstandslos
einfügt.
3. Drücken Sie die SSD dann vorsich-
tig nach unten und fixieren die M.2
Halterung mittels der gelieferten
Schraube.
5. Setzen Sie den mitgelieferten
Kühlkörper auf das Wärmeleitpad
und richten Sie dessen Kerbe auf
die M.2 Halterung aus.

Hinweis! Ändern Sie die Schreibschutzeinstellung bevor Sie das Gerät
an den Computer anschließen.
6. Schieben Sie die Platine mitsamt
der SSD vorsichtig bis zum
Anschlag in die Führungsschiene
des Gehäuses. Achten Sie auf die
korrekte Ausrichtung!
7. Befestigen Sie die vordere
Abdeckung unter der Verwendung
der beiden Schrauben. Stellen Sie
sicher, dass der Schreibschutz-
schalter in der entsprechenden
Aussparung der Abdeckung
platziert ist.

Verwendung
• Verbinden Sie die IB-1823MF-C31 mittels des beiliegenden Kabels mit
dem entsprechenden Anschluss Ihres Computers.
• Hinweis: Verwenden sie den beiliegenden USB Type-A zu Type-C™
Adapter nur Hostseitig.
• Wurde das IB-1823MF-C31 richtig eingesteckt, leuchtet die LED weiß auf.
• Sobald der Schreibschutz per Schalter aktiviert wurde, leuchtet die Status
LED rot*.
*Achtung! Die Änderung des Schreibschutzmodus erfolgt nur, wenn
das Gerät getrennt und dann wieder mit dem Hostcomputer verbunden
wurde.
• Der Lüfter dreht durchgehend, wenn die SSD in Betrieb ist. Abhängig von
Ihren Energieeinstellungen hört der Lüfter auf zu drehen, wenn die SSD in
Standby geht.

Anwendung
• Die externe SSD kann im laufenden Betrieb des Rechners angeschlossen
oder von diesem getrennt werden.
• Bitte das Ende von Schreib- und Lesevorgängen abwarten bevor ein
angeschlossenes Gehäuse vom Rechner getrennt wird, um Datenverlust
zu vermeiden.
• Eine neue SSD muss vom Betriebssystem erst initialisiert, partitioniert und
formatiert werden, um vom System angezeigt zu werden.
• Wenn die SSD nicht sofort vom System erkannt wird bitte prüfen:
• ob die Treibersoftware installiert ist (USB),
• ob die SSD initialisiert, partitioniert und formatiert ist.
Hinweis: Laufwerke müssen initialisiert sein und aktive Partitionen besitzen,
damit diese sofort als Datenträger im Betriebssystem erkannt werden. Falls
dies nicht der Fall sein sollte, initialisieren Sie die Laufwerke in der Datenträ-
gerverwaltung Ihres Betriebssystems.
Die volle USB 3.1 (Gen2) Transferrate kann nur mit einem kompatiblen USB
3.1 (Gen2) Hostcomputer erreicht werden. Des Weiteren müssen die USB
3.1 Treiber seitens des Betriebssystems installiert sein. Sollte dies nicht der Fall
sein, installieren Sie die passenden Treiber für Ihr Betriebssystem (Windows®,
macOS®).
