This manual is intended for use by the VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) equipment
installer, System Engineer, and Network Operator responsible for maintaining the iDirect
Network. Only qualified service personnel should install the iQ LTE Satellite Router.
Familiarity with cabling and wiring practices is beneficial.

1 Introduction
The iQ LTE Series combines iDirect’s next-generation DVB-S2/S2X satellite connectivity with
4G-LTE creating a converged solution able to deliver reliable and persistent communications
across a wide range of use cases. Featuring an integrated Cradlepoint LTE cellular router, the
solution offers fully automated VSAT/LTE failover and failback, WAN link affinity steering,
advanced VPN connectivity, and SD-WAN configuration options for robust enterprise grade
communications.

This manual explains how to safely install and maintain the iQ LTE Router. The iQ LTE Satellite
Router is shown in Figure 1-1.

The iQ LTE Satellite Router Series supports the following features:

1.2 iQ LTE Series Models
The iQ LTE Satellite Router series consists of three different models.
iQ LTE
The iQ LTE Satellite Router is an entry-tier LTE throughput model that is ideal for financial
service markets or for restricted WIFI use-cases.
The iQ LTE Satellite Router is pre-installed with Cradlepoint IBR-650C module

iQ LTE+
The iQ LTE+ Satellite Router is a mid-tier LTE throughput model that is suitable for mid-
market solution for Mobility markets such as:

• Land Mobility Commercial Fleet
The iQ LTE+ Satellite Router is pre-installed with Cradlepoint IBR-900-600M module

iQ LTE Pro
The iQ LTE Pro Satellite Router is the highest tier LTE throughput model in the iQ LTE series
that provides a top-tier solution for First Responder or higher throughput requirements using
Gigabit LTE-Advanced Pro with Band 14 support.
The iQ LTE Pro Satellite Router is pre-installed with Cradlepoint IBR-900-1200M or
IBR90 1200M-B modules.

1.3 Power Supply Options
The iQ LTE Router is available with the power supply configurations in the table below.
NOTE: The iQ LTE Router can be ordered in any of the two configurations
specified in Ta b le 1 - 1 . The Power Supply Unit (PSU) is a Field Replaceable Unit
(FRU) and can be swapped with the same PSU version (AC with AC and DC with DC)
in the field.

2.2 Power Specifications
The iQ LTE Satellite Router power specifications are listed in Ta b l e 2-2.
CAUTION: If negative voltages are used such as Telecom -48VDC, the negative
most voltage is always connected to –ve terminal (in the Telecom case this
would be -48V) and the positive most voltage is always connected to the +ve
terminal (in the Telecom case this would be 0VR). Chassis can be referenced
to +ve, -ve or left floating (i.e., not connected to either +ve or –ve) as
required as the power module is fully isolated input to the chassis.
