1.1 Introduction

The ECK-1000 series integrate a KINO mini-ITX motherboard and a power supply in a 1U
chassis. The ECK-1000 is for use with large digital displays like airport information
displays or multimedia signage. The ECK-1000 attaches directly to the back of a large
display using the optional mounting kit. The wireless networking capabilities of the
ECK-1000-9453 are enabled through an optional Mini PCI wireless card and allow
displays to be updated over a wireless network. The ATi Radeon™ Express 1250 graphics
capabilities of the ECK-1000-690S are ideal for high definition multimedia signage.
The ECK-1000 series systems support dual displays, capable of displaying two separate
video signals. Two PCI slots allow for system expansion through a PCI interface. Other
features include Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, audio output and input, and serial ports.

2.1 Mechanical Overview
The ECK-1000 is made of a metal chassis. The chassis is covered with a top cover and
comprises multiple air vents to allow for the free flow of cooling air through the system.
The front panel of the chassis contains a power button, reset button, fan access panel and
CD drive slot. The rear panel of the chassis connects to all the external interface
connectors on a preinstalled IEI KINO series motherboard. The motherboard is directly
connected to the internal power supply. Two cooling fans are preinstalled in the front of the
chassis.
