INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING
THE DSES
Before you use the DSES system,
please read the instructions for
using your secateurs carefully and
follow all safety instruction
NOT DSES - EN - 2017 - Ind.03

How the system works
2
The user should always wear the knitted conductive glove on the hand which is NOT
holding the appliance :
- The conductive glove no. 8 gives information to the electronics to re-open the appliance
in the event of contact with the cutting head.
Note : an inner glove (ref.356S) can be used for comfort but is not necessary.
Make sure you do not use inner glove for comfort and the conductive glove the wrong way round.
To differentiate between them: only the conductive glove no. 2 has a Velcro patch.
You must use only INFACO conductive gloves.
Slip the plug no. 1 through the eye hole no. 3 Put the fix tongue no. 2 through the eye hole no. 3
Turn the vest around and slip the fix tongue no. 2
through the central suspender ring no. 4.
On the opposite suspender to the battery
connection, slip the fix tongue no. 2 through the
first strap no. 5, then though the second no. 6.
You must disconnect the secateurs for all these operations.
Do not use any outer glove over the INFACO conductive glove.

Put on the battery-holder jacket and adjust it for
your comfort. Put on the armband no.7 used to
keep the wire in place along the arm and adjust it
for your comfort.
Put the conductive glove no. 8 on the hand that
will not be holding the appliance. Fix tongue no. 2
to the Velcro patch of the conductive glove no. 8.
If the DSES cable seems too long, it is possible to
make it shorter. Do a loop in the central
supsender ring no. 4, as shown above.
If the cable seems too long, it is possible to make it shorter. Do it by sliding the back belt vest battery
door no.9, as shown above.

Check every day that the DSES system is working correctly. To do this :
1- Put the conductive glove no. 8 on as shown above.
2- Switch on your pruning shear by pressing the button no. 10.
3- Check that pruning shears is not indicating a fault (If the led no. 9 is red and that the Data base
indicates a fault D07, see the “DSES fault indication” box below).
4- With the glove no. 8, flat down without the hand inside, come in contact with the pruning shear
hook. The blade must open or not close when the trigger no. 12 is operated.
If the DSES system is working correctly, the pruning shear should not close in any circumstances
As well as carrying out daily checks, you should also carry out visual checks to ensure that the
conductive glove is in good overall condition. It is also necessary to machine-wash the conductive glove
(max. 30°) once a week in order to maintain optimum conductivity. Replace the glove(s) if worn.
INFACO may not be held liable for any faults caused by the poor condition of the gloves.
Indication on LED no. 10 on the pruning shears : permanent red LED and the pruning shear works.
Indication reading pruning shear : Fault D07 (only by your dealer via the « interface »).
The permanent red LED on the pruning shear and the fault D-07 displayed in the Data base
show the user that there is a fault in the DSES system.
In the event of a fault :
1- Press the button no. 10 until the LEDS turn off and disconnect the secateurs at socket no. 11.
2- Check that tongue no. 2 is correctly fixed to the Velcro of the conductive glove no. 8. Check the condition
of the DSES wire.
3- Follow the procedure set out above to check that the DSES is operating correctly.
Special case: the DSES system may still be operating even if the LED on the pruning shear is red.
If the pruning shears and the DATA base are still indicating an DSES fault, contact the retailer
who sold you the appliance.
DO NOT FOR ANY REASONS, TEST THE GLOVE WITH THE HAND INSIDE

To make the DSES system safer, an additional (and optional) setting is available.
It can be enabled (and disabled) by your INFACO dealer and, when enabled, prevents the device from
being used:
- without a glove being connected to the DSES system
- with the standard cable (non DSES)
- with a DSES cable that has been detected as being defective
In all three cases, the power
supply LED is red and the
secateur will not operate.
