3SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
3.1 GENERAL
Comply with the following safety instructions and the latest state of the
art.
3.1 GENERAL
- The restraint system may be installed only by specialised experts familiar with the
restraint system, and in compliance with the current state of the art.
- The protective equipment may be used only by people who:
• are trained in the use of “personal protective equipment” (PPE).
• are in good physical and mental health. Medical conditions such as cardiovascular
problems, intake of medicines, consumption of alcohol, etc. negatively aect the
safety of the user.
• are familiar with the locally applicable safety regulations.
- Adhere to the respective accident prevention regulations (e.g. working on roofs)
when installing/using the restraint system.
- Understand and accept the options, restrictions, and risks of the protective equip-
ment.
-A plan must be available that species rescue procedures for all possible emergen-
cies.
- Before starting work, ensure that no objects can fall to the ground from the work
site. The area below the work site (pavement, etc.) must be kept clear.
- Plan, install, and use the anchorage point in such a manner that no fall over the
edge is possible if the personal protective equipment (PPE) is used properly. (See
planning documents at www.innotech.at).
- For the access to the roof securing system, the positions of the attachment devices
must be documented by means of diagrams (e.g. top view of the roof).
-If, following certication of the safety equipment, structural works are carried out in
the immediate vicinity of the restraint system, it must be ensured that these works
in no way aect the integrity of the installed restraint system. Where there is any
doubt, consult a structural engineer or the manufacturer.
- After a load from a fall, and the resulting strain, you must stop using the safety
system, and have it checked by a specialised/competent expert (component parts,
fastening to the substructure, etc.).
- Do not make any changes to the restraint system.
- If used on sloping roofs, roof avalanches (ice, snow) must be prevented by the use
of suitable devices to hold back snow.

3.2 FOR FITTERS: FOR SAFE ASSEMBLY

If uncertainties arise during installation, it is imperative that you contact the
manufacturer.
- All stainless steel bolts must be greased with a suitable lubricant before installation
(provided: Weicon AntiSeize ASW 10000 or equivalent quality)
- Ensure that stainless steel does not get in contact with swarf or steel tools, as this
can lead to corrosion.
- Document the professional attachment of the lifeline system to the building structure
with dowel logs and photos of each tting situation.
- The installers must ensure that the substructure is suitable for attaching the ancho-
rage device. If in doubt, consult a structural engineer.
- The roof covering must be properly sealed in accordance with applicable guidelines.
- The minimum free space necessary under the edge is calculated as follows:
Deformation of the anchorage device in the event of strain + Manufacturer's speci-
cation of the personal protective equipment used including deection of the cable +
body height + 1 m safety margin.
- Correct use of the individual elements including “personal protective equipment”
must be ensured, because otherwise the safe functioning of the restraint system is
NOT guaranteed.
- Attachment to the restraint system always occurs through the attachment eye using
a carabiner, and it must be used with personal protective equipment in accordance
with EN 361 (safety harness) and EN 363 (fall arrest system).
-ATTENTION For horizontal use, only lanyards may be used that are suited for this
purpose and have been tested for the respective edges (sharp edges, trapezoidal
corrugated sheeting, steel girders, concrete, etc.).
- Do NOT use restraint systems if wind speeds are higher than normal.
-Children and pregnant women must NOT use the restraint system.
- If you provide the restraint system to external contractors, understanding of this
instruction manual must be conrmed in written form.
- If the equipment is sold to another country, the instruction manual must be provided
in the respective national language.
- Comply with the local lightning protection regulations.

5PRODUCT SUITABILITY/APPROVAL
INNOTECH “AIO-SANDWICH-10/-11‟ was developed
-as an anchorage point for personal safety for end and corner points, and for
intermediate brackets (not included in scope of delivery) in the INNOTECH
horizontal lifeline system as per EN 795:2012 TYPE C &
CEN/TS 16415:2013 and
-as an anchor point for personal safety for 3 people (including 1 person for pro-
vision of rst aid) as per EN 795:2012 TYPE A & CEN/TS 16415:2013 (EAP-
SPAR-10-25), and is suitable for the following safety systems as per EN 363:2008:
- Restraint systems
- Workplace positioning systems
- Fall arrest systems
- Rescue systems
INNOTECH “EAP-SANDWICH-10/-11”was developed as an anchor point for personal
safety for 3 people (including 1 person for provision of rst aid) as per
EN 795:2012 TYPE A & CEN/TS 16415:2013, and is suitable for the following safety
systems as per EN 363:2008:
- Restraint systems
- Workplace positioning systems
- Fall arrest systems
- Rescue systems

-NEVER hang loads on INNOTECH-SANDWICH-10/-11 which are NOT
approved in this instruction manual.

6.1 CHECK BEFORE EVERY USE
6INSPECTION
Use the test intervals indicated in the test protocol.
If there are any doubts concerning the safe usage of the restraint
system, it must NOT be used any more, and must be checked by an
expert (written documentation).
If necessary, replace the product.
6.2 ANNUAL REVISION
Have INNOTECH-SANDWICH-10/-11 checked at least once a year by a specially trained
technician who is familiar with the restraint system. The user's safety depends on the
eectiveness and durability of the equipment.
Shorter intervals between inspections may be required, depending on the intensity of
use and the environment (e.g. in corrosive atmospheres, etc.).
Document the inspection by the specialist in the test log in the instruction manual, and
keep it with the instruction manual.
DANGER TO LIFE from damage to the INNOTECH-SANDWICH-10/-11.
- INNOTECH-SANDWICH-10/-11 must be in perfect working condition.
- Do NOT continue to use INNOTECH-SANDWICH-10/-11 if
• Damage or wear to its components is obvious,
• Other defects were observed (loose screwed connections, deformation,
corrosion, wear, etc.),
• Strain has occurred due to a fall (Exception: provision of rst aid),
• it is not possible to read the product labelling.

DANGER
Prior to each use, INNOTECH-SANDWICH-10/-11 must be checked visually for any
obvious defects.
Check the entire lifeline system's suitability for use on the basis of the acceptance
protocol and test log.

7WARRANTY
The warranty period for manufacturing defects on all components (under normal con-
ditions of use) is 2 years from the date of purchase. The time limit is shortened if it is
used in corrosive atmospheres.
If there is strain (a fall, weight of snow, etc.,) the warranty claim is void for those com-
ponents that were designed to absorb energy, or which deform.
For system installation and for components planned and installed
under the responsibility of specialised installation companies, IN-
NOTECH ®assumes neither responsibility nor warranty in the case of
incorrect installation.

10 INSTALLATION SUBSTRUCTURE
10.1 CORRUGATED SHEETING
The basic prerequisites for professional/proper installation are a trapezoidal roof laid as per
the applicable standards/specialist regulations (material thickness : steel ≥ 0.6 mm), a
statically bearing substructure, and the use of the original fasteners listed in this instruction
manual.
DANGER TO LIFE as a result of installation on an unsuitable installa-
tion substructure.
- Install INNOTECH-SANDWICH-10/-11 on a trapezoidal roof laid with a
material thickness of a minimum of 0.6 mm
-In case of doubt, have the installation substructure checked by a
structural engineer or by the manufacturer.

The installation company who signs warrants correct workmanship (edge spacing, inspection of the substructure, proper cleaning of
bores, compliance with curing times and processing temperature, compliance with the dowel manufacturer's guidelines, etc.).
The client accepts the work performed by the contractor. The instruction manual, documentation of the fastenings, and photo
documentation and test logs have been transferred to the client (building owner) and are to be made available to the user. When
accessing the restraint system, the building owner must document the positions of the attachment devices by means of diagrams
(e.g. top view of the roof).
The expert tter familiar with the restraint system conrms that the installation work has been executed properly, as
per the state of the art, and in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction manual. The technical safety reliability
is conrmed by the installation company.
