DESCRIPTION
This fall preventi n system f r wind ws c nsists f a telesc pic bar. This bar can be engaged at
different adjustment lengths and is fitted with freely pr truding anch r pegs n b th sides which
are held in place by anch r b res n the wind w frame. This all ws restraining pers ns fr m
falling while w rking at pen wind ws in c mpliance with all legal regulati ns.
Attaching the telesc pic bar requires that y u drill h riz ntal b res int the wind w frames. The
fall preventi n system f r wind ws can then be inserted easily and carried al ng fr m wind w t
wind w. Since it can be adjusted t the respective width f the wind w with nly a few steps and
thanks t the anch r p ints prepared in the wind w frame, the telesc pic bar safely restrains the
user and pr vides reliable pr tecti n.

APPLICATION
Transp rt:
Caution, the fall preventi n system f r wind ws utilises spring pre-tensi n.
Slacken the fall preventi n system f r wind ws bef re y u transp rt it (Fig. 2). T slacken the
fall preventi n system f r wind ws, place it n a s lid surface and h ld n t the galvanised
(silver) part bef re releasing the l ck by pulling l cking b lt A. Caution, the fall preventi n
system slackens (risk f injury). When pulling l cking b lt A, make sure n t t prevent the
galvanised (silver) part fr m sh ting ut, as this will damage the restraint system. It is,
theref re, imp rtant t extend the system sl wly.
Fig. 2
Pre-adjustment:
H ld the slacked fall preventi n system f r wind ws with b th hands, pull
l cking b lt B, and adjust the system t the respective wind w size using the adapter. C rrect
setting: = (light width f the wind w frame plus appr x. 50 mm t 150 mm (Fig. 3).
Attention: make sure locking bolt B has snapped back into place after each pre-
adjustment!
Proceed by shortening the fall prevention system for windows by pulling locking A,
pushing the perforated silver extension inward, and releasing locking bolt A again. Y ur
fall preventi n system is n w pre-adjusted.

Installati n:
Keeping at an angle below 5 degrees, guide the anch r peg 1 f the pre-set
fall preventi n system f r wind ws int anch r p int X (
∅
10 mm) n the wind w frame (Fig. 4).
Pr ceed by pulling l cking b lt A and carefully insert anch r peg 2 int the pp site b re Y that is
marked n the wind w frame. Release l cking b lt A t l ck the fall preventi n system f r
wind ws in place n the wind w frame (Fig. 5).Disassembly in reverse rder.

Check:
Pushing in horizontal direction (Fig. 5), make sure that b th l cking b lts A and B
are l cked securely in place. Y u must n t be able t shift the p siti n on either side bey nd
the ring marking f anch r p int X r Y . This means that at least 20 mm f the anch r pegs
must remain inside the wind w frame (Detail Fig. 5).
Attention: locking bolts A and B must be locked securely in place!

MAINTENANCE
All moving parts must be treated with acid-free lubricant at least once a year and as
needed. Check the fall preventi n system f r wind ws f r bvi us defects pri r t every use.
STORAGE
Always st re the fall preventi n system f r wind ws in a dry l cati n and with the spring
slackened.
ATTENTION
The FAS 01-03 fall prevention system for windows should only be inserted into original
and certified INNOTECH guide bushes.
Since using third-party guide bushes poses a safety risk, no liability will be assumed in
the event of damage caused by the use of such bushes.

CREATING THE ANCHOR POINTS ON THE WINDOW FRAME
in metal, plastic, and w d wind ws.
Checking the anchor substrate thoroughly (stability and anchoring of the window
frame) is the most important prerequisite.
Test loads according to EN HD 1000 = 1.25 kN (125 kg) per anchor point.
ATTENTION: (the system is not suitable for sliding windows.)
The c axial h riz ntal b res in the wind w frame sh uld nly be drilled by competent experts
(e. g. specialised metal c mpany). If necessary, ch se a different restraint system (e.g. PPE) f r
drilling the anch r p ints.
Sh uld y u have d ubts ab ut the stability f the anch r p int, y u can test the strength f the
wind w frame and the anch r p int.
A suitable test device PG 01 has been devel ped by the manufacturer INNOTECH.
WORK SITE (determining the elevati n f the anch r p int)
Stand on window sill: If the wind w sill is the highest elevati n f the w rk site, install at least
2 telesc pic r ds at the anch r p ints marked in red n the wind w frame (Fig. 6).
Top guardrail always 1,000 mm above the window sill - intermediate guardrail between
top guardrail and bottom window frame.
On tall windows, vertical distance above top guard rail no greater than 470 mm.
Stand above the window sill (tall windows): If the w rk site can nly be reached fr m the
ladder, y u can use several safety bars t secure the wind w r d r pening. The maximum
intermediate distance is 470 mm. C nstructi ns like these require that all anch r p ints n the
wind w frame be secured with telesc pic bars (Fig. 6a).

Anchor points on double windows with narrow centre spars must be installed with a
vertical offset (at least 50 mm) (Fig. 6b).
Fig. 6b
P siti n f the anch r p ints n the wind w frame:
(Figs. 7 and 7a)
Creating precise anchor points is necessary for the proper functioning of the fall
prevention system for windows. We rec mmend that y u use drilling jigs t ensure the
greatest p ssible precisi n.
Fig.7
Fig. 7a
•Select the most suitable and safest points on the window frame to act as anchor
points in the frame seal of the window profile (Fig. 7).
•Fit only certified INNOTECH guide bushes into all anchor points (Fig. 7).
•
ATTENTION ! ! !
Make sure to drill the anchor points at a right angle on all sides (Fig. 7a).

Fitting the guide bushes int the anch r p ints
B re ∅ 12mm (Fig. 8)
All anch r p ints n the wind w frame must be fitted with guide bushes that have been
devel ped especially f r the FAS 01-03 restraint system. The system sh uld nly be used in
c mbinati n with INNOTECH guide bushes.
GUIDE BUSH TYPE FHS QUICK-INSTALLATION BUSH
This guide push is inserted like a d wel int the prepared b re

∅ min. 11.9 mm – max. 12.1 mm) and held in place by specially designed discs that d n t
require any additi nal fasteners. While a centre screw can be used f r additi nal fastening, this
will n t be necessary in m st cases.
Developed for w d, plastic, and metal frames as well as frame and centre spar pr files with
h ll w cavities r a full cr ss secti n.
Special guide bushes are available fr m y ur FAS 01-03 dealer.
