DIRECTIONS
To turn on, rotate the Power Dial indicator to the left (counter clockwise). Rotate
the Power Dial indicator line to select one of the 3 settings:
SETTING
I Cool Air Only
II Hot Air Low + Heated Plates
III Hot Air High + Heated Plates
When done styling, rotate the Power Dial indicator line all the way to right
(clockwise) to the O for “OFF”. To turn back on, rotate the Power Dial to the left
(counter clockwise).
DRYING
Position MAVEN with the Heated Plates and Cool Touch Ionic Bristles facing out,
away from head. Hold a 2” section of hair away from scalp with one hand and
place MAVEN underneath hair section at roots. Gently press hair into the bristles
and continue to hold hair section to apply tension as you glide your hand down,
while MAVEN follows closely. Release hair when you reach the ends and allow
MAVEN to pass through ends of hair. Always brush MAVEN down from roots to
tips to smooth the hair cuticle for a silky, shiny nish.
STYLING
SLEEK: For a smooth, straight look, hold hair taut while drying each section and
glide MAVEN down through ends. Repeat until hair is dry and super smooth.
Finish with a pass through hair on the Cool Air setting to lock in shine.
VOLUME: For extra body and volume, ip head upside down as you brush dry.
Direct MAVEN airow at the roots for lift. When hair is dry, ip hair back and
brush through for a smooth, polished nish.
CURLS AND WAVES: Set MAVEN to the Cool Air Only Setting or the Low Hot
Air Setting. Similar to use of a traditional dryer diffuser, scrunch a section of hair
from tips to roots and gently place hair onto the center of the brush paddle.
Hold for 3-5 seconds and release hair. Repeat until hair is dry and desired curls
or waves look is achieved.

IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
When using electrical appliances,
especially when children are present,
basic safety precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE
USING. KEEP AWAY FROM WATER.
DANGER
As with most electrical appliances,
electrical parts are electrically live
even when the switch is off. To reduce
the risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always unplug immediately
after using.
2. Do not use while bathing or
showering.
3. Do not place or store the
product where it can fall or be
pulled into a tub, toilet or sink,
or any other water source.
4. Do not use the product near
water.
5. Do not place or drop into water
or other liquid.
6. If the appliance falls into water,
do not reach into the water.
Unplug appliance immediately.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of burns,
electrocution, re, or injury to persons:
1. The appliance should never be
left unattended when plugged
in.
2. Use the appliance only for its
intended purpose as described
in this manual. Do not use
attachments not recommended
by the manufacturer.
3. Never operate the appliance if it
has a damaged cord or plug, if it
is not working properly, broken,
damaged, or dropped in water.
If the power cord or plug is
damaged, the appliance must be
replaced by the manufacturer or
an authorized service agent.
4. Keep the appliance and the cord
away from water and heated
surfaces. DO NOT wrap the cord
around the appliance.
5. Unplug the appliance before
cleaning.
6. Never use while sleeping.
7. Never drop or insert any object
into any opening or hole on the
appliance.
8. Do not use an extension cord
with the appliance.
9. Do not operate with a voltage
converter.
10. The appliance is a personal care
device and is not intended for
commercial use. The appliance is
for household use only.
11. Do not use the appliance

12. Do not plug or unplug the

wet.
13. While using the product, keep
your hair away from the air inlets.
14. Do not direct the hot air toward
eyes or other heat sensitive
areas.
15. Never block the air opening of
the appliance or place it on a soft
surface, such as a bed or couch,
where the air opening may be
blocked. Keep the air openings
free of lint, hair, and the like.
16. Attachments may be hot during
use. Allow them to cool before
handling.
17. Do not place the appliance on
any surface while it is operating.
18. Close supervision is necessary
when the appliance is used by,
on, or near children or invalids.
The appliance has a polarized plug
(one blade is wider than the other).
As a safety feature, this plug will t in
a polarized outlet only one way. If the
plug does not t fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not t,
contact a qualied electrician. Do not
attempt to defeat this safety feature.
GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTERS (GFCI)
If you must use appliance in the bathroom, install a GFCI now. A GFCI is a
sensitive device which reacts immediately to a small electric current leak by
stopping the electricity ow. Your local electrician can help you decide which
type is best for you – a portable unit that plugs into the electrical outlet or
permanent unit installed by your electrician. The national electrical code now
requires GFCI’s in bathrooms, garages and outdoor outlets of all new homes.
WHY DO YOU NEED A GFCI?
Electricity and water don’t mix. If your appliance falls into water while plugged
in, the electric shock can kill you. Even if the switch is “OFF”. A regular fuse or
circuit breaker won’t protect you under these circumstances. A GFCI offers far
greater protection.
APPLIANCE LEAKAGE CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER (ALCI)
The appliance is provided with an ALCI. This safety feature renders the tool
inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as accidental immersion in
water. Check the ALCI safety feature every time you use the appliance.
To make sure the ALCI is functioning properly and the exclusive water
sensing system is working, perform the following test:
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Never block or clog air intakes, as this will cause the appliance to overheat. The
appliance has no user serviceable parts. Any servicing should be performed by
an authorized service representative or a professional center. Never allow the
power cord to be twisted, pulled, bent, or wrapped around the appliance. If
the cord is twisted, untwist the cord before use. When not in use, the appliance
should be stored in a safe, dry place, out of children’s reach.
