Specifications
The IS-2260/2260T passive infrared motion sensor is a versatile wall-mounted unit
employing Fresnel lenses and offering efficient coverage patterns for commercial
and residential applications.
When installed per the guidelines, the Uniform Sensitivity Optics technology in the
IS-2260 provides reasonable false alarm protection against pets and other animal
up to 40 lbs.
To activate look-down capabilities, remove the lens/bug guard assembly.
Use a screwdriver to push in and out on the look-down tab until it breaks off.
(Not to be removed for pet applications.)
Special Instructions
for Installations Containing Pets
To take full advantage of the pet immunity the guidelines below should be
followed:
Mount the center of the sensor 76 (2.3 m) high.
Set the PIR sensitivity for Standard (ST ).
Mount where animals cannot come within 6 (1.8 m) of the
sensor by climbing on furniture, boxes, or other objects.
o not aim the sensor at stairways that can be climbed by animals.
Note: o not break out look-down tab for sensors using pet applications.
Note: This sensor will provide immunity to false alarms for an individual
animal or a group of animals whose total weight is equal to or less than 40
lbs. when the room temperature is above 50° F (10° C).
Note: Pet immunity for this sensor has not been evaluated by
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
Note: Only the 76 (2.3 m) mounting height lens provides immunity to
animals moving within the field-of-view.
Important: Two-minute warm-up time is required after applying power.
1. Remove the front cover and set Pulse Processing Option to the
setting appropriate for the installation. The LE must be enabled at
this time.
2. Replace the front cover and walk through detection zones,
observing that the sensors LE lights whenever motion is detected
(The LE serves as a walk-test indicator during this procedure).
The absolute range of all PIR units is subject to variation because of
different types of clothing, backgrounds, and ambient temperature. For
this reason, ensure that the most likely intruder routes are well within
the PIRs detection zones and that walk-testing is carried out along
those routes.
