SHIFT keyandthentheLIGHTkey.

servebatterylifewhileretainingall data andyourplacein
theprogram.Ifyouleaveyour computeronbutdonotuse
itforawhile,itwill automatically go off afterapro-
grammed periodoftimetoconservethemainbattery.
“OFF”entriesareignoredwhenthehand-heldcomputeris
performingatasksuchasprinting.
TheON keyisalsousedtoadjust thecontrastofyourdis-
play.Toadjustyoupress theON keythesecondtimeasde-

signsofphysicaldamagethat mayhave occurredinship-
mentorstorage.
Theinformationinthis sectiontellsyou howto:

Youmustinstall thebatterypack(NiCd)orindividualalka-
linecellsbeforethehand-heldcomputerwill operate.Fol-
lowtheinstructionsbelowto openthebatterycompartment
andinstall batteries.
1.Placethehand-heldcomputerfacedownonasoft,
cleansurface.
2.Useaflatbladescrewdriverorthe edge ofacoin,to
turnthebatterycoverlatchinthedirection(counter-
clockwise)oftheraisedarrowtounlockthebattery
cover.
3.Pull uponthehandstraptoremovethedoor
