Tocheckoxygenconcentration,flowandpressureofagassample
fromaconcentrator:
1.Connectthegassampletubingtothegassampleinletofthe
CheckO2Plus.
2.Attachtheotherendofthegassampletubingtotheoxygen
concentrator.
3.InitiatetheflowofgastotheCheckO2Plusatarateof
1-10litersperminute(2litersperminuteisrecommended).
Ensuretheconcentrator’soutputisstablepertheconcentrator
manufacturer’srecommendations.
4.TurnontheCheckO2Plus.
5.Allowtheoxygenreadingtostabilizeforapproximately10
secondsbeforereadingtheoxygenconcentrationandflow.
6.Tocheckpressure,coverthegassampleoutletwiththumbor
fingerwhilegasisflowing.
7.Wait5secondsforthedisplaytoreadpressure.
DONOTholdthemodebuttonwhilecheckinga
concentratororthereadingwillbeinaccurate.

1.Usinga#1Phillipsscrewdriverloosenthebatterydoorscrew
andremovethebatterydoor.
2.Toggletheswitchinsidethebatterycompartment.
3.Replacethebatterydoorandtightenthebatterydoorscrew.
4.3CalibrationVerificationProcedure
Acalibrationverificationmodeisprovidedtoverifythatthe
CheckO2Plusisfunctioningproperly.Toperformthecalibration
verification:
1.TurnontheCheckO2Plus.
2.Connectasourceofpureoxygen(≥99.95%)tothegassample
inlet
3.Flow2–5LPMofgasintotheCheckO2Plus.Ensurethatthegas
flowingtotheCheckO2Plusisatastabletemperature.
4.Pressandholdthemodebutton.Whileholdingthemode
button,thegasmeasurementshouldreadbetween98.5and
101.5%oxygen.Ifthegasmeasurementisnotwithinthis
range,callCustomerService.Calibrationverificationmodeis
indicatedby“CAL”and“VER”flashingonscreenbeneaththe
gasmeasurement.
4.4FactorsInfluencingAccurateReadings
EffectsofTemperature
TheCheckO2Pluscompensatesfortemperatureandwillperform
withinspecificationsthroughouttheoperatingtemperature
range.However,takingmeasurementsduringrapidchangesingas
temperatureshouldbeavoided.
EffectsofHumidity
TheCheckO2Plushasahumiditysensortodetectandcompensate
forthehumidityofgasenteringthedevice.However,highlevels
(condensing)ofhumiditycanaffecttheaccuracyandreliabilityofthe
CheckO2Plus.Topreventpossibledamage:
•Avoidusageinenvironmentsofgreaterthan95%relativehumidity
•DONOTusethisdeviceinabreathingcircuit
•DONOTbreatheorblowintotheCheckO2Plus

TheCheckO2Plusisdesignedtomeasuretwodifferenttypesof
gasmixtures:
•Oxygen,nitrogenandargonfromoxygenconcentrators
•Pureoxygenduringcalibrationverificationmode
Anyotherconcentrationsorcombinationsofgaseswillcausethe
CheckO2Plustomeasureoxygenconcentrationincorrectly.
EffectsofLowFlow
Oxygenconcentratorsfunctionontheprincipleofremovingnitrogen
gasfromair,leavingconcentratedoxygenandargonataspecific
oxygentoargonratio.Thisoperatingprinciplemaybealteredwhen
concentratorsaresettoflowatthelowendoftheiroperational
range.Atlowflowstheymayoutputalowoxygenconcentration,
e.g.85%to91%,forreasonsotherthanhighnitrogen,possiblydue
toanincreaseinargoncontent.TheCheckO2Plusrequiresthat
theratioofoxygentoargonremainconstantinordertoguarantee
anaccuracyof+/-1.5%oxygen.
•DONOTusetheCheckO2Plustomeasuretheoxygen
concentrationofaconcentratorwhenflowingatrateslower
thanitsoptimalperformanceasspecifiedbytheconcentrator
manufacturer;generally4LPMorlessonconcentratorsthathave
amaximumflowof10LPM,and1LPMorlessonconcentrators

Invacare®guaranteesthattheirproductsarefreefromdefectsand
arefullyfunctional.Thewarrantycoversallfaultsanddefectswhich
areverifiablyattributabletofaultyconstruction,substandardmaterials
orpoorworkmanship.Warrantyclaimsagainstthemanufacturermay
onlybemadebythedistributorandnotbytheuseroftheproduct.
Thewarrantydoesnotcovernormalwearandtear,the
consequencesofimproperhandlingordamage,poormaintenance
andincorrectassemblyorcommissioningbythepurchaserorathird
personorfaultswhichareattributabletocircumstancesbeyond
ourcontrol.Wearingpartsarenotcoveredbytheguarantee.The
warrantyisvoidedifmodificationsaremadetotheproductwhich
werenotauthorisedandnotperformedbythespecialistdealeror
ifinappropriateaccessoriesorsparepartsareused.Thewarranty
doesnotcoverconsequentialcostsarisingfromtherectificationof
defectssuchasfreightandtravelexpenses,labourcosts,feesetc.
Thetermofthewarrantyis24month.
