Thank you for buying this JB Systems product. To take full advantage of all
possibilities, please read these operating instructions very carefully.

Some important instructions:
•To protect the environment, please try to recycle the packing material as much as
possible.
•Keep this booklet in a safe place for future consultation. If you sell the fixture, be
sure to add this user manual.
•To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
•Don’t place metal objects or spill liquid inside the unit. Electric shock or malfunction
may result. If a foreign object enters the unit, immediately disconnect the mains
power.
•Locate the fixture in a well ventilated spot, away from any flammable materials
and/or liquids. The fixture must be fixed at about 15cm from surrounding walls.
•Don’t cover any ventilation openings as this may result in overheating.
•Prevent use in dusty environments and clean the unit regularly.
•The electrical installation should be carried out by qualified personal.
•This fixture must be earthed to in order comply with safety regulations.
•In order to prevent electric shock, do not open the cover. Apart from the lamp, there
are no user serviceable parts inside.
•In the event of serious operating problems, stop using the fixture and contact your
dealer immediately.
LAMP (RE)PLACEMENT
1. Switch off the unit and unplug the mains cable.
2. Wait until the unit has been cooled down.
3. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the 2 screws that close
lamp compartment on the upper side of the fixture. (see
photo)
4. On the inside you will see the lamp socket. Tear the lamp
socket gently out of the lamp compartment.
5. Unplug the old lamp. Hold the lamp socket while
unplugging the lamp instead of pulling the cable!
6. Hold the lamp socket while pressing the new ELC250
lamp gently in the socket.
Attention! Don’t touch the bulb inside the lamp reflector
with bare hands! This will drastically shorten the lifespan
of the lamp. If you touched the lamp, clean it with a cloth
and a little denatured alcohol. Wipe the lamp off before
installing.
7. Put the installed lamp back inside the unit as shown on
the photo. Be sure that the wires don’t touch the lamp
reflector.
8. Close the lamp compartment with the 2 screws. Done!

CONTROLS ON THE BACK
1. MAINS INPUT: Used to connect
the included mains cable.
2. INTERNAL MICRO: Used to
trigger the built-in programs to
the rhythm of the music.
3. DIP SWITCHES: Used to set the
DMX-starting address of the unit.
See further for more information.
With switch n°10 you can inverse
the movements. The red led is on
when the unit is switched on. The
green led blinks in the rhythm of
the music.
4. JACK INPUT: This 6.3mm jack connector is used to connect the optional CA-8
controller for extra functions. (see further)
5. DMX INPUT: 3pin male XLR-connector used to connect universal DMX-cables.
This input receives instructions from a DMX-controller or from another Falcon light
effect when used in master/slave mode.
6. DMX OUTPUT: 3pin female XLR-connector used to connect the Falcon with the
next unit in the DMX chain or with another Falcon when used in master/slave
mode.
ADJUSTING THE FOCUS:
Use the small knob on top of the Falcon to adjust the focus
of the gobos:
•Switch the lamp of the Falcon on.
•Loosen the knob (see photo) a little until you can move it
forward and backward.
•Adjust the focus and fasten the knob again.
CONTROLLING THE FALCON
1. Standalone 1unit:
Just connect the unit to the mains and put on some music. The unit will start working
automatically to the rhythm of the music.
2. Two or more units in master/slave setup:
Connect 2 or more units together using good quality balanced XLR microphone cables
(like for example JB Systems code 7-0063). The unit that has no cable connected to
its input will react as master; the others are the slave units.
You don’t have to worry about the settings of the DMX DIP-switches! It is only
possible to inverse the behavior of a slave unit by changing the position of DIP-switch
n°10. Just try it and see if the effect becomes better. Changing DIP-switch n°10 on the
master has no effect.

3. Connect the optional CA-8 controller for more control:
The CA-8 controller can only be used in standalone or
master/slave mode. Connect the controller to the jack input of the
first unit (master). Now you can control all the connected units:
•STANDBY BUTTON:
Press this button to start/stop blackout mode on all
connected units. The led is ON when the blackout function
is active. After about 30sec. blackout, the lamp will be
switched off automatically to extend its lifetime.
•MODE: (fast/slow)
When the led is off, the Falcon is in FAST mode. The beam
movements and gobo/color wheel are both sound activated.
Press the button to switch the led on; now the Falcon is in
SLOW mode. The beam movements are sound activated
but the gobo/color wheel is static and can be controlled with
the FUNCTION-button.
•FUNCTION BUTTON: (strobe/next)
Push the FUNCTION button while the Falcon is in FAST mode (MODE led is
off) the units will strobe in 3 different ways:
•Strobe with different gobos/colors
•Synchronous strobe in white color
•Two-light strobe in white color
Every time you push the FUNCTION-button while the Falcon is in SLOW mode
(MODE led is on) the colors/gobos of the connected units change.
4. Controlled by universal DMX-controller:
The DMX-protocol is a widely used high speed signal to control intelligent light
equipment. You need to “daisy chain” your DMX controller and all the connected light
effects with a good quality XLR M/F balanced cable (ex. JB Systems ref. 7-0063). To
prevent strange behavior of the light effects, due to interferences, you must use a 90Ω
to 120Ωterminator at the end of the chain. Never use Y-splitter cables, this simply
won’t work!
Each light effect in the chain needs to have its proper starting address so it knows
which commands from the controller it has to decode.

•How to set the DIP-switches to obtain the right starting address:
On the back of the Falcon you will see that each of the first 9 DIP-switches
corresponds to certain value:

You can combine the values of these switches to become any starting address
between 1 and 512:

MAINTENANCE
The cleaning of internal and external optical lenses and/or mirrors must be carried out
periodically to optimize light output. Cleaning frequency depends on the environment
in which the fixture operates: damp, smoky or particularly dirty surroundings can cause
greater accumulation of dirt on the unit’s optics.
•Clean with a soft cloth using normal glass cleaning products.
•Always dry the parts carefully.
•Clean the external optics at least once every 30 days.
•Clean the internal optics at least every 90 days.
We strongly recommend internal cleaning to be carried out by qualified personnel!

Quelques instructions importantes:
•Afin de préserver l'environnement, veuillez recycler le plus possible l'emballage.
•Conservez ces instructions pour une consultation ultérieure. Si vous vendez les
appareils n'oubliez pas de joindre ce manuel.
•Pour éviter l’incendie ou l’électrocution, n’exposez jamais l’appareil à la pluie ou à
l’humidité.
•N'insérez jamais d'objets métalliques et ne versez jamais de liquide dans l'appareil.
Des électrocutions ou disfonctionnements pourraient se produire. Si un objet pénètre
l'appareil, déconnectez immédiatement les câbles d'alimentation.
•Placez l'appareil dans une pièce bien aérée, loin de tout matériel inflammable et/ou
liquide. L'appareil doit être fixé à environ 15cm des murs environnants.
•Ne couvrez pas les ouvertures de ventilation sous peine de surchauffe.
•N'utilisez pas l'appareil dans des endroits poussiéreux et nettoyez-le régulièrement.
•L'installation électrique doit être effectuée par du personnel qualifié.
•Cet appareil doit être mis à la terre afin de satisfaire aux normes de sécurité.
•Afin d'éviter des risques d'électrocution, n'ouvrez pas le couvercle. Outre la lampe, il
n'y a pas de pièces amovibles à l'intérieur.
•Dans le cas de sérieux problèmes de fonctionnement, arrêtez l'utilisation de l'appareil
et contactez immédiatement votre revendeur.
(REM)PLACEMENT DE LA LAMPE
1. Eteignez l'unité et débranchez le cordon secteur.
2. Attendez que l'appareil soit refroidi.
3. A l'aide d'un tournevis, retirez les 2 vis qui ferment le
compartiment à lampe au-dessus de l'appareil (cf. photo)
4. A l'intérieur, vous verrez une douille de lampe. Retirez-la
doucement du compartiment à lampe
5. Débranchez l'ancienne lampe en maintenant le douille afin
de ne pas tirer sur le câble!
6. Maintenez la douille pendant que vous mettez délicatement
la nouvelle lampe ELC250 en place.
Attention! Ne pas toucher l'ampoule située dans le
réflecteur avec les mains nues! Ceci diminuerait la durée de
vie de la lampe. Si vous l'avez touché, nettoyez-la à l'aide
d'un chiffon et un peu d'alcool dénaturé! Essuyez la lampe
avant de l'installer.
7. Réinstallez la lampe dans le compartiment comme indiqué
sur la photo. Assurez-vous que les fils électriques ne
touchent pas le réflecteur de la lampe.
8. Finalement, fermez le compartiment à l'aide des 2 vis!

CONTROLES A l'ARRIERE
1. ALIMENTATION: branchez le
cordon secteur fourni.
2. MICRO INTERNE: Permet de
déclencher les programmes
incorporés au rythme de la
musique.
3. INTERRUPTEURS DIP: permet
d'attribuer l'adresse de
démarrage DMX de l'unité. Voir
plus loin pour plus d'information.
Avec l'interrupteur n°10, vous
pouvez inverser les mouvements.
Le led rouge s'allume quand
l'appareil est allumé. Le vert clignote au rythme de la musique.
4. JACK D'ENTREE: Ce jack de 6.3mm permet de connecter le contrôleur CA-8 (en
option) pour plus de fonctions. (cfr plus loin)
5. ENTREE DMX: Connecteur XLR 3pin mâle permet de connecter des câbles XLR
universels. Cette entrée reçoit des instructions provenant d'un contrôleur DMX ou
d'un autre Falcon en mode master/slave.
6. SORTIE DMX: Connecteur XLR 3pin mâle permet de connecter le Falcon à l'unité
suivante de la chaîne DMX ou a un autre Falcon en mode master/slave.
AJUSTER LA FOCALE:
Utiliser le petit bouton au-dessus du Falcon pour régler le
focus des gobos:
•Allumer la lampe du Falcon.
•Desserrer un peu le bouton (cfr photo) jusqu'à pouvoir le
glisser vers l'avant et vers l'arrière.
•Ajuster la focale et resserrer à nouveau le bouton.
CONTROLER LE FALCON
1. Autonome 1unité:
Connectez simplement l'alimentation de l'unité et mettez de la musique. L'unité se met à
travailler directement au rythme de la musique.
2. Configurer 2 unités ou plus en mode master/slave:
Connecter ensemble 2 unités ou plus en utilisant des câbles micro XLR balancés de
bonne qualité (ex. JB Systems code 7-0063). L'unité n'ayant pas de câble connectée en
entrée réagit en maître; les autres unités sont esclaves.
Vous n'avez pas à vous inquiéter à propos des interrupteurs DIP! Il est seulement
possible d'inverser le comportement d'une unité esclave en changeant la position de
l'interrupteur n°10. Essayez simplement et voyez si l'effet s'améliore. Changer le DIP
n°10 sur l'unité master n'a pas d'effet.

3. Connectez le contrôleur optionnel CA-8 pour plus de
possibilités:
Le contrôleur CA-8 peut être utilisé en mode standalone ou
master/slave. Connectez le contrôleur à l'entrée jack de la
première unité (master). A présent vous pouvez contrôler toutes
les unités connectées:
•BOUTON STANDBY:
Poussez-le afin d'allumer/éteindre le mode blackout sur
toutes les unités connectées. Le led s'allume quand la
fonction blackout est active. Après 30sec de blackout, la
lampe s'éteint automatiquement.
•MODE: (fast/slow)
Quand le led est éteint, le Falcon est en mode FAST. Les
mouvements de lumière et la roue gobo/couleur sont
activés par la musique. Pousser le bouton pour allumer le
led et mettre le Falcon en mode SLOW. Les mouvements sont activés par la
musique mais la roue gobo/couleur est statique et peut être contrôlée à l'aide du
bouton FUNCTION.
•BOUTON FUNCTION: (strobe/next)
Pousser ce bouton lorsque le Falcon est en mode FAST (Led MODE éteint) afin
de mettre l'unité en mode strobo selon 3 manières:
•Strobo avec différents gobos/couleurs
•Strobo synchronisé de couleur blanche
•Strobo 2-lumières de couleur blanche
Chaque fois que vous poussez sur FUNCTION alors que le Falcon est en mode
SLOW (Led MODE allumé), les couleurs/gobos des unités connectées changent.
4. Controllé par contrôleur DMX universel:
Le très répandu protocole DMX est un signal très rapide permettant de contrôler des
équipements de lumière. Il est impératif de connecter votre contrôleur DMX et les
différents éléments de la chaîne avec des câbles XLR balancés de bonne qualité (ex.
JB Systems ref. 7-0063). Afin d'éviter que vos effets de lumière se comportent de
manière étrange, à cause d'interférences, utilisez des bouchons de 90Ωà 120Ωen fin
de chaîne. N'utilisez jamais de câbles de dérivation, ceci ne fonctionne pas!

Chaque effet dans la chaîne nécessite sa propre adresse de démarrage afin de savoir
quelles commandes du contrôleur il doit décoder.
•Configurer les interrupteurs DIP pour obtenir l'adresse de démarrage correcte:
A l'arrière du Falcon, vous verrez que chacun des 9 DIP correspond à une valeur:

Combinez ces valeurs pour obtenir des adresses de démarrage comprises entre 1 et
512:

Adresse = 09 ÆDIP 1+4=ON valeurs: 1+8 = 9

ENTRETIEN
Nettoyer régulièrement les lentilles optiques internes et externes afin d'optimiser la
sortie de lumière. La fréquence de nettoyage doit dépendre de l'environnement où vous
utilisez l'appareil: poussière, fumée et endroits sales peuvent causer plus
d'accumulation de saleté sur les lentilles.
•Nettoyer à l'aide d'un chiffon doux et du produit pour vitres.
•Toujours veiller à bien sécher les différents éléments.
•Nettoyer les optiques externes au moins 1 fois par mois.
•Nettoyer les optiques internes au moins tous les 2 mois.
Nous recommandons vivement que le nettoyage interne soit fait par un personnel
qualifié!

Belangrijke instructies:
•Spaar het milieu door de verpakking zo veel mogelijk te recycleren.
•Bewaar deze gebruiksaanwijzing zorgvuldig, ze zal U in de toekomst nog van pas
komen. Geef, bij eventuele verkoop, deze gebruiksaanwijzing aan de nieuwe
eigenaar.
•Stel dit apparaat niet bloot aan regen en vochtigheid om brand en elektrocutie te
voorkomen.
•Zorg ervoor dat er geen vreemde metalen voorwerpen of vloeistoffen in het apparaat
komen. Elektrocutie of slechte werking kan het gevolg zijn. Als er toch een vreemd
voorwerp in het apparaat komt, trek de stekker dan onmiddellijk uit het stopcontact.
•Bevestig het apparaat op een goed geventileerde plaats, ver van ontbrandbare
materialen en/of vloeistoffen. Respecteer een minimum afstand van 15cm tot de
omringende muren.
•Dek geen enkele ventilatieopening af om oververhitting te voorkomen.
•Voorkom gebruik in een stoffige omgeving en reinig het apparaat regelmatig.
•De elektrische installatie moet door een vakman worden uitgevoerd.
•Om te voldoen aan de veiligheidsvoorschriften moet dit apparaat geaard worden.
•Open het apparaat niet om elektrische schokken te voorkomen. Buiten de lamp zijn
er in het apparaat geen onderdelen die U zelf kan vervangen.
•Als er problemen ontstaan tijdens het gebruik van dit apparaat, stop dan onmiddellijk
het gebruik ervan en contacteer uw dealer.
LAMP PLAATSEN/VERVANGEN
1. Schakel het apparaat uit en trek te stekker uit het
stopcontact.
2. Wacht tot het apparaat afgekoeld is.
3. Gebruik een schroevendraaier om het lampcompartiment
bovenaan het apparaat te openen. (zie foto)
4. Binnenin ziet U een lampvoet. Trek deze voorzichtig naar
buiten.
5. Trek de oude lamp uit de lampvoet. Trek hierbij niet aan het
snoer maar houd de lampvoet stevig vast!
6. Druk de nieuwe ELC250W lamp op haar plaats terwijl U de
lampvoet stevig vasthoud.
Opgelet! Raak de lamp of de binnenzijde van de reflector
niet met blote handen aan! Dit zal de levensduur van de
lamp drastisch inkorten. Als U de lamp toch hebt
aangeraakt, reinig ze dan met een doekje, gedrenkt in een
beetje gedenatureerde alcool. Droog de lamp nadien met
een droge doek af.
7. Plaats de lamp nu terug op haar plaats in het
lampcompartiment (zie foto). Zorg ervoor dat de draden niet
aan de lamp raken.
8. Sluit het lampcompartiment door middel van de 2 schroeven.

ONDERDELEN OP DE ACHTERZIJDE
1. STROOMVOORZIENING: Sluit
hier de stroomkabel aan.
2. INTERNE MICRO: wordt gebruikt
om de ingebouwde programma’s
in het ritme van de muziek te
laten werken.
3. DIP SWITCHES: hiermee zet U
het DMX beginadres van het
apparaat. Kijk verder voor de
werkwijze. Switch nr.10 zorgt
voor het omdraaien van de
bewegingen. De rode led licht op
als het apparaat aangeschakeld
is. De groene led licht op in het ritme van de muziek.
4. JACK INGANG: Via deze 6.3mm jack aansluiting kan U een optionele CA-8
controller aansluiten voor het bekomen van extra functies. (zie verder)
5. DMX INGANG: deze 3pin mannelijke XLR-aansluiting wordt gebruikt voor het
aansluiten van universele DMX-kabels. Deze ingang ontvangt zijn instructies van
een DMX-controller of van een ander “Falcon” lichteffect (in master/slave mode).
6. DMX UITGANG: deze 3pin vrouwelijke XLR-aansluiting wordt gebruikt om de
Falcon met het volgende DMX-apparaat in de keten te verbinden. In master/slave
mode sluit U hier de volgende Falcon aan.
FOCUS AFSTELLEN:
Gebruik het kleine draaiknopje bovenaan de Falcon om de
gobo’s scherp af te stellen:
•Schakel de lamp van de Falcon aan.
•Draai het knopje een beetje losser (zie foto) tot U het
vooruit en acheruit kan bewegen.
•Draai de knop terug vast zodra de gobo’s scherp zijn.
PS: de gobo’s zijn niet op alle plaatsen even scherp.
DE FALCON BEDIENEN:
1. één Falcon werkt zelfstandig:
U hoeft het apparaat enkel aan te schakelen. Zorg tevens voor wat ritmische muziek.
De Falcon werkt nu automatisch op de maat van de muziek.
2. Twee of meer Falcons in master/slave werking:
Verbind 2 of meer Falcons met elkaar door middle van degelijke, gebalanceerde
microfoonkabels (zoals bvb. onze JB Systems code 7-0063). De Falcon waar er geen
DMX-kabel toekomt zal zich automatisch als master schakelen; de andere Falcons
gedragen zich als slaven (slaves) en luisteren dus naar de master.
De stand van de DIP switches heeft hier absoluut geen belang! Enkel met DIP-
switch nr.10 kan U de bewegingen van een, als slave geschakelde Falcon, omkeren.
Probeer dit en kijk of het effect verbetert. DIP-switch nr.10 heeft geen effect op de
master.

3. Sluit de optionele CA8 controller aan voor meer controle:
De CA8 controller kan U enkel gebruiken in zelfstandige of
master/slave mode. Sluit de controller aan op de jack ingang van
de eerste Falcon (master). Nu kan U de Falcons bedienen:
•STANDBY TOETS:
Druk op deze toets om de blackout functie van alle
aangesloten Falcons te bedienen. De LED is aan als de
blackout functie actief is (blackout = geen licht). Na
ongeveer 30seconden wordt de lamp automatisch
uitgeschakeld om haar levensduur te verlengen.
•MODE TOETS: (snel / traag)
In FAST mode is de LED gedoofd. De bewegingen en het
gobo/kleurenwiel werken in de maat van de muziek. Druk
de toets om de LED aan te schakelen; de Falcon is nu in
SLOW mode. De bewegingen reageren nog steeds op de
muziek maar het gobo/kleurenwiel wordt nu bediend door de FUNCTION-toets.
•FUNCTION TOETS: (strobe/next)
Er zijn 3 verschillende strobo funkties ter beschikking als U de FUNCTION-toets
bedient terwijl de Falcon in FAST mode staat .(MODE led is uit):
•Strobo met verschillende gobo’s/kleuren
•Synchrone, witte strobo flitsen
•“Two-light” witte strobo flitsen
Als de Falcon in SLOW mode staat (MODE led is aan) dan zullen de kleuren en
gobo’s veranderen telkens U op de FUNCTION-toets drukt.
4. Aangestuurd door een universele DMX-controller:
Het DMX-protocol is een veel gebruikt signaal om intelligente lichtapparatuur te
sturen. De DMX controller en alle DMX-apparatuur moeten in één lange keten
verbonden worden. Dit gebeurt met gebalanceerde microfoonkabel van goede
kwaliteit, voorzien van XLR M/F aansluitingen (Bvb. JB Systems ref. 7-0063). Om
onvoorspelbaar gedrag, door interferenties, te vermijden dient men de keten af te
sluiten met een weerstand van 90Ωtot 120Ω. Gebruik nooit Y-splitter kabels, dit zal in
geen geval werken!
Ieder apparaat in de DMX keten moet over een eigen startadres beschikken zodat het
weet welke instructies voor hem bestemd zijn.

ONDERHOUD
Het reinigen van de interne en externe optische lenzen en/of spiegels moet regelmatig
gebeuren om de lichtintensiteit te behouden. De regelmaat waarmee dit dient te
gebeuren hangt af van de omgeving waarin het apparaat gebruikt wordt: vocht, rook
en/of een erg vervuilde omgeving zorgen voor een snellere ophoping van vuil op de
optische onderdelen.
•Reinig de optische delen met een zachte doek en producten bestemd voor het
reinigen van glazen ramen.
•Nadien steeds droogwrijven met een droge doek.
•Reinig de externe optische onderdelen minstens iedere 30 dagen.
•Reinig de interne optische onderdelen minstens iedere 90 dagen.
Wij raden U aan om het reinigen van de interne optische delen te laten uitvoeren door
een geoefende technicus!
