Introduction
JCB introduces an upgraded version of Backhoe
loader variant machines. These variants have latest
hydraulic systems, Power Management System
(3DX Xtra only), servo (on demand), air-conditioning
(on demand ) and high dump / maximum dig depth.

The main features are listed below.
1 JCB Engines

• Solenoid (Auto) dump in P2 Flow
• Pump pressure sensor- P1 Line
• Accelerator pedal position sensor

5 In the servo machine: The excavator valve
spools (Boom, Dipper, Bucket and Slew) are
operated by the servo system. Manual control
for loader and stabilizers.
6 In standard machine: Manual operated EVB
(Excavator Valve Block) and LVB (Loader Valve
Block) like standard 3DX machine.
7 Independent steering system in all variants
8 In air conditioning machine, the air flow vents
are given in the cab roof for changing air flow
direction.
9 Auto engine OFF system

PMS is installed in 3DX Xtra machine, the
advantages are given below.
1 Managing the hydraulic horse power versus
available engine horse power
2 P2 flow dump will be controlled by PMS
3 Better fuel efficiency

Hydraulic System
Hydraulic circuit is different form Standard 3DX
machine and hydro control make valve blocks are
used in all the variants.
• Pressure sensor in 3DX Xtra hydraulic circuit
• In-build pressure reducing valve for servo
operated machine
• Sandwich valve blocks

• Engine controls- Hand and foot throttle controls
are similar to 3DX Standard machine.
• Gear change- Similar to 3DX Standard
machine.
• Park and foot brake system are similar to
Standard 3DX Machine. Refer to the Operator's
manual on how to check the park brake.
• Loader lever- "JCB +" Pattern similar to
Standard 3DX Machine
• Excavator lever (Non servo machine)- similar to
3DX Machine
• Excavator control (Servo machine)- SAE "+"
Pattern. This is not same as the pattern used
in JCB Excavators. It is possible to change this
for a customer who wants his BHL control to be
the same as his excavator control. Refer to JCB
Service Department for details of this change.

• Front Panel- Switches are similar to 3DX
Standard machine.
• All the working lights switches are similar to
3DX Standard machine.
Servo Momentary Switch
Press the switch once to actuate the servo system.

Continuous operation: Operator seated and facing
toward excavator end
For 30 seconds operation: Used for operating the
excavator end while operator facing loader end and
also for connecting the accumulator pressure line to
the servo system to lower the excavator end when
engine or hydraulic system fails.
Auto Engine OFF switch
If the auto engine OFF switch is in OFF condition and
operator is not seated continuously for 30 seconds,
then the engine will automatically stops through the
control unit.
To deactivate the engine being switch OFF
automatically when operator is not on the seat,
simply press the switch to ON position to deactivate
the auto engine OFF system.
Operator Seat Assembly Installed with Two
Switch
Press switch- Load sensing: Gives signal to the
control unit when operator is seated or not.
Proximate switch- Position switch: Gives signal to the
control unit when operator seat facing the excavator
end.
Accumulator in Servo System
All the servo machines are installed with the
accumulator. It stores the energy for actuating servo
spool when the engine or hydraulic system failed. To
actuate the servo system in above said condition,
• Switch Ignition ON
• Press servo switch
• Select the correct servo lever to lower the
excavator end
• Servo system will operate till pressure is
available in the accumulator
Transmission
Standard 3DX transmission is being used in all the
variants and the maintenance service schedules
remains same.
Axle
Same type of axle being used in existing all variants.
