POWER SOURCE (AC ADAPTOR ON Y)
The JCR-255 MAIN UNIT
is powered by n extern l AC-DC d ptor (included) with
n output of DC 5V 3A .
The unit is lso equipped with b ttery b ck-up system for the clock th t uses 1 x
CR2032 lithium b ttery (Included).
POWER CONNECTION
1. Connect the cord of the power d ptor to the DC IN JACK (#23) of the JCR-255.
2. Plug the power d ptor into household w ll socket. The unit is powered up nd in
st ndby mode when you see the displ y turn on.
B ttery B ck-up system
•
The r dio is equipped with b ttery b ck-up system th t requires 3V
CR2032 lithium b ttery (included). Open the BATTERY DOOR (#22) loc ted on the
b ck of the unit with coin nd remove the b ttery insul tor t b. Re-insert the
b ttery into the b ttery comp rtment nd m ke sure the positive nd neg tive (+ or
-) sides of the b ttery re in cont ct with the corresponding termin ls loc ted in the
b ttery comp rtment. Re-pl ce the BATTERY DOOR (#22).
•
If power out ge occurs, the unit utom tic lly switches to the b ttery power
supply nd keeps the clock nd timer settings.
•
When repl cing the b ttery, do not disconnect the power d ptor. Otherwise, ll
clock nd l rm settings will be lost.
BATTERY WARNING
DO NOT INGEST BATTERY, CHEMICA BURN HAZARD
This product cont ins coin/button cell b ttery. If the coin/button cell b ttery is
sw llowed, it c n c use severe intern l burns in just 2 hours nd c n le d to de th.
Keep new nd used b tteries w y from children. If the b ttery comp rtment does not
close securely, stop using the product nd keep it w y from children.
If you think b tteries might h ve been sw llowed or pl ced inside ny p rt of the body,
seek immedi te medic l ttention.
The JCR-255 Wireless Under Pillow Vibrator
is powered by 3 x AAA b tteries (not
included). For best perform nce nd longer oper ting time, we recommend using
lk line b tteries.
INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
1. Remove the BATTERY DOOR (#28) on the bottom of the under pillow vibr tor.
2. Follow the pol rity di gr m shown inside the b ttery comp rtment nd insert 3 X
‘AAA size (UM-4) b tteries. Repl ce the BATTERY DOOR (#28).
3. The STATUS INDICATOR (#26) will fl sh for 15 seconds.
4. Press the PAIR BUTTON (#12) on the top of the JCR-255 when the STATUS
INDICATOR (#26) is fl shing.
5. The under pillow vibr tor will vibr te briefly to confirm it’s p ired with the clock.
Note:
The STATUS INDICATOR (#26) will fl sh when the b ttery is low. Repe t the steps
bove to repl ce the b tteries when this occurs.

3. Do not mix old nd new b tteries.
4. Do not mix lk line, st nd rd (c rbon-zinc) or rech rge ble (nickel-c dmium)
b tteries.
5. If the unit is not to be used for n extended period of time, remove the b tteries.
Old or le king b tteries c n c use d m ge to the unit nd m y void the w rr nty.
6. Do not try to rech rge b tteries not intended to be rech rged; they c n overhe t
nd rupture. (Follow b ttery m nuf cturer’s directions).
7. Do not dispose of b tteries in fire, b tteries m y le k or explode.
IMPORTANT: ED DISP AY DIMMER CONTRO
If the LED displ y is OFF or very dim when you first plug the unit it, you will need to
djust the ROTARY DIMMER CONTROL (#20) loc ted on the b ck of the unit.
Rot te the ROTARY DIMMER CONTROL (#20) to set the brightness of the displ y
before proceeding. You c n re djust the dimmer control l ter to m ke it brighter or
dimmer if needed.
STANDBY MODE
St ndby Mode is when the unit is first plugged into n AC power source (displ y
fl shing), or fter ll the settings h ve been m de nd the time is showing on the
displ y. The r dio is off, no buttons re pressed nd no l rms re sounding.
SETTING THE TIME
The displ y will be fl shing when the unit is plugged in for the first time. T p the TIME
SET BUTTON (#14) to go to the Time Set Mode.
Setting the Time
1. In st ndby mode, Press the TIME SET BUTTON (#14) until the hour digits of the
clock displ y begins to fl sh.
2. Repe tedly t p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to set the
hour. Press nd hold the buttons for f st dv nce/reverse setting. M ke sure the
correct AM or PM time is selected when setting the hour.
Note:
The PM INDICATOR (#10) is loc ted in the lower p rt of the displ y nd
centered below the “ : ” th t sep r tes the hour digits from the minute digits. The
PM INDICATOR (#10) will light when the hour digits selected re for PM time. The
PM INDICATOR (#10) will be off when the hour digits selected re for AM time.
3.
T p the TIME SET BUTTON (#14) to confirm the time nd the minute digits will
blink.
4. Repe tedly t p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to set the
minute. Press nd hold the buttons for f st dv nce/reverse setting.
5. T p the TIME SET BUTTON (#14) to confirm nd complete the time setting. The
displ y will stop blinking.
Note:
The unit will utom tic lly s ve the settings nd exit the time set mode if you do
not press ny buttons within 10 seconds.

A ARM OPERATION
The JCR-255 fe tures du l l rm clock.
Setting the alarm time:
1. In st ndby mode, press the ALARM SET BUTTON (#16), one of the l rm 1
indic tors will light nd the hour of the l rm 1 time will blink.
2. T p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to set the hour. Press
nd hold the buttons for f st dv nce/reverse setting.
3. T p the ALARM SET BUTTON (#16) to confirm the hour setting, the minute digits
will blink to prompt for input.
4. T p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to set the minute.
Press nd hold the button for f st dv nce/reverse setting.
5. T p the ALARM SET BUTTON (#16) to to confirm the minute setting. One of the
l rm 2 indic tors will light nd the hour of the l rm 2 time will blink
6. T p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to set the hour. Press
nd hold the buttons for f st dv nce/reverse setting.
7. T p the ALARM SET BUTTON (#16) to confirm the hour setting, the minute digits
will blink to prompt for input.
8. T p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to set the minute.
Press nd hold the button for f st dv nce/reverse setting.
9. T p the ALARM SET BUTTON (#16) to confirm nd complete the l rm time
setting.
Setting the “wake to” alarm source:
1. In St ndby or r dio mode, t p the ALARM 1 BUTTON (#17). The ALARM 1 time
will show on the displ y nd the current ALARM 1 st tus indic tor will light on the
left side of the displ y. If no indic tor is lit in me ns ALARM 1 of currently set to
OFF.
2. Repe tedly t p the ALARM 1 BUTTON (#17) to select the l rm source.
W ke to Al rm – ALARM 1 INDICATOR (ALARM) (#1) lights.
W ke to R dio – ALARM 1 INDICATOR (RADIO) (#2) lights.
W ke to Vibr tor - ALARM 1 INDICATOR (VIBRATOR) (#3) lights.
Slide the HI/MED/LO SELECTOR (#27) on the vibr tor to djust
the vibr tion speed of the under pillow vibr tor.
Al rm OFF – All ALARM 1 indic tors on the left side of the displ y re OFF.
3. The Al rm will sound for 60 minutes t the time you entered. The vibr tor will
vibr te 3 minutes for power s ving.
4. Setting ALARM 2 will follow the s me steps s ALARM 1 bove, but you will be
using the ALARM 2 BUTTON (#18) nd the ALARM 2 indic tors will be on the right
side of the displ y.
Turning OFF the alarm
•
When the l rm sounds, the corresponding l rm indic tor will fl sh.
•
Press ny button except for the SNOOZE BUTTON (#15) to turn off the l rm
sound or under pillow vibr tor.
Notes:
•
For setting one-d y l rm, just set the desired l rm time one d y before.
•
The l rm will ctiv te t the time set the d y prior. After h ving switched off the
l rm sound, t p the corresponding l rm button to dis ble the l rm (the l rm
indic tor will off).
•
To set nother one-d y l rm, just repe t the bove steps.

SNOOZE FUNCTION
When the l rm sounds, t p the SNOOZE BUTTON (#15) on the top p nel to
tempor rily turn off the l rm nd ctiv te the SNOOZE function. The l rm will stop
nd turn on g in 9 minutes l ter. This c n be repe ted when the l rm sounds g in.
NOTES:
•
The corresponding Al rm 1 or Al rm 2 indic tor ( l rm/r dio/vibr tor) fl shes on the
displ y during the snooze period.
•
To c ncel the SNOOZE function nd the l rm, press ny button except the
SNOOZE BUTTON (#15).
RADIO OPERATION
istening to the radio
1. Press the RADIO ON BUTTON (#13) to turn on the r dio.
2. Slide the RADIO BAND SELECTOR (#25) loc ted on the b ck of the unit to select
the AM or FM b nd.
3. The frequency will show on the LED displ y. T p the UP BUTTON (#19) or
DOWN BUTTON (#11) to djust frequency.
4. Press nd hold the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to
utom tic lly tune to the next or previous v il ble st tion.
5. T p the VOLUME RADIO
BUTTON (#12). The volume level will show on the LED
displ y.
6. T p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to obt in the desired
volume level.
7. Press the RADIO OFF BUTTON (#15) to turn the r dio OFF.
Notes:
• Use m nu l tuning to select we ker st tions th t might be skipped during
utom tic tuning.
• If the utom tic tuning does not stop on the ex ct frequency of the st tion, for
ex mple, it stops on 88.9 MHz inste d of 88.8 MHz, use the m nu l tuning method
to “fine tune” to the ex ct frequency of the desired st tion.
• In r dio mode, the displ y will utom tic lly switch b ck to showing the time fter
few seconds.
• When listening to the r dio, you c n check the frequency of the st tion you re
listening by t pping the RADIO ON BUTTON (#13) once.
Tips for best radio reception
AM - The AM ntenn is built inside the r dio. If AM reception is we k, ch nge the
position of the unit until the intern l ntenn picks up the strongest sign l.
FM - If FM reception is we k, fully extend the FM ANTENNA (#24) nd v ry the
position nd loc tion of the ntenn until you find the strongest sign l.
To set / recall the radio presets
The unit llows you to store up to 10 FM st tions nd 10 AM st tions for e sy rec ll t
ny time.
1. Press the RADIO ON BUTTON (#13) to turn on the r dio.
2. Slide the RADIO BAND SELECTOR (#25) to select AM or FM b nd.
3. T p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to select the desired
st tion.

4. Press nd hold the MEMORY BUTTON (#14) until “XX” (the existing preset slot)
nd the MEMORY INDICATOR (#8) will blink.
5. T p the UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11) to select preset
number (01-10).
6. Press the MEMORY BUTTON (#14) g in to confirm the preset.
7. Repe t steps 2 through 6 to preset up to 10 FM st tions nd 10 AM st tions.
8. To rec ll one of the preset st tions lre dy progr mmed, t p the MEMORY
BUTTON (#14) repe tedly until you re ch the desired preset number/r dio st tion.
S EEP OPERATION
The SLEEP TIMER fe ture llows you to turn off the r dio utom tic lly fter
design ted time h s el psed.
1. Press the RADIO ON BUTTON (#13) to turn on the r dio.
2. T p the
UP BUTTON (#19) or DOWN BUTTON (#11)
to select the desired st tion.
3. Double t p the SLEEP TIMER BUTTON (#13) to enter sleep mode. The SLEEP
TIMER INDICATOR (#4) will light.
4. Repe tedly t p the SLEEP TIMER BUTTON (#13) to select the sleep timer 05 –
10 – 15 - 30 – 45 – 60 - 75 – 90 – OFF (in minutes). The unit will pl y for the
selected length of time then turn off utom tic lly.
5. To c ncel the sleep timer, repe tedly t p the SLEEP TIMER BUTTON (#13) until
the timer shows OFF.
6. To turn the unit “Off” before the selected length of time, press the RADIO OFF
BUTTON (#15) t ny time.
Note:
In clock time displ y mode, double t p the SLEEP TIMER BUTTON (#13) once
to check the rem ining sleep time.
USB CHARGING
THE JCR-255 FEATURES A FRONT MOUNTED USB CHARGING PORT (DC 5V
2A) FOR CHARGING YOUR CE PHONE.
1. Plug the st nd rd end of the USB c ble (not included) into the USB
CHARGING
PORT (#9) loc ted on the front of the unit. Plug the other end of the c ble into the
device you wish to ch rge.
2. Observe the b ttery ch rge indic tor on your device to m ke sure the ch rging
process st rts norm lly.
3. Unplug the c ble when your device is fully ch rged.
WARNING!
The USB CHARGING PORT (#9) loc ted on the front of the unit is designed for
sm rt phone or port ble device b ttery ch rging only nd does not support d t
tr nsfer or connection to computer.
Don’t connect the USB CHARGING PORT (#9) of the unit to nother USB ch rger.

the rep ir or repl cement of the defective unit or ny p rt thereof, except b tteries,
when it is returned to the SPECTRA Service Dep rtment, ccomp nied by proof of the
d te of origin l consumer purch se, such s duplic te copy of s les receipt.
You must p y ll shipping ch rges required to ship the product to SPECTRA for
w rr nty service. If the product is rep ired or repl ced under w rr nty, the return
ch rges will be t SPECTRA’s expense. There re no other express w rr nties other
