3.Safety
3.1Authorizeduse
Thismachineisdesignedforsawingwood,woodderivedmaterials
aswellassimilartobemachinedhardplasticsonly.
Machiningofothermaterialsisnotpermittedandmaybecarried
outinspecificcasesonlyafterconsultingwiththemanufacturer.
Nometalworkpiecesmaybemachined.
Theworkpiecemustallowtosafelybeloaded,supportedand
guided.
Nocutswithoutusingtheripfence,the90°fenceorthesliding
tablemaybeperformed.
Nosubmergedcutsbyremovingtherivingknifeand/orsawguard
maybeperformed.
Theuseofapowerfeederisnotconsidered.
Theproperusealsoincludescompliancewiththeoperatingand
maintenanceinstructionsgiveninthismanual.
Themachinemustbeoperatedonlybypersonsfamiliarwithits
operation,maintenanceandrepairandwhoarefamiliarwithits
hazards.
Therequiredminimumagemustbeobserved.
Themachinemustonlybeusedinatechnicallyperfectcondition.
Whenworkingonthemachine,allsafetymechanismsandcovers
mustbemounted.
Inadditiontothesafetyrequirementscontainedinthisoperating
instructionandyourcountry’sapplicableregulations,youshould

3.2Generalsafetynotes
Woodworkingmachinescanbedangerousifnotusedproperly.
Thereforetheappropriategeneraltechnicalrulesaswellasthe
followingnotesmustbeobserved.
Readandunderstandtheentireinstructionmanualbefore
attemptingassemblyoroperation.
Keepthisoperatinginstructionclosebythemachine,protected
fromdirtandhumidity,andpassitovertothenewownerifyou
partwiththetool.
Nochangestothemachinemaybemade.
Dailyinspectthefunctionandexistenceofthesafetyappliances
beforeyoustartthemachine.
Donotattemptoperationinthiscase,protectthemachineby
unpluggingthemainscord.
Donotweargloveswhileoperatingthismachine.
Removealllooseclothingandconfinelonghair.
Beforeoperatingthemachine,removetie,rings,watches,other
jewellery,androllupsleevesabovetheelbows.
Wearsafetyshoes;neverwearleisureshoesorsandals.
Alwaysweartheapprovedworkingoutfit:

Forthesafehandlingofsawbladeswearworkgloves.
Observethechapter“saveoperation”inthismanual.
Checkthecorrectrotationofthesawbladebeforeoperatingthe
machine.
Donotstartcuttingoperationuntilsawbladeisatfullspeed.
Controlthestoppingtimeofthemachine,itmaynotbelonger
than10seconds.
Donotusesidepressuretostoprotatingblade.
Insurethattheworkpiecedoesnotrollwhencuttinground
pieces.
Usesuitabletableextensionsandsupportingaidsfordifficultto
handleworkpieces.
Alwaysholdandguidetheworkpiecessafelyduringmachining.
Thefencemustsecurelybelockedbeforemachineuse.
Payparticularattentiontoinstructionsonreducingtheriskof

designedfor,e.g.donotusethistablesawtocutlogsorfirewood.

Neverreacharoundoroverthesawblade.
Whenrippingnarrowworkpieces(smallerthan120mm)useas
push‐stickorpush‐wood.
Pushstickorpushwoodmuststaywiththemachinewhentoolis
storedandnotinuse.
Alwaysusecrosscutfenceormitregaugeforcuttingoff.
Theuseofdado‐bladesandgroovecuttersisnotpermissible.
Makesurethatsmallcutoffworkpieceswillnotbecaughtand
thrownawaybytherisingsawbladeteeth.
Removecutandjammedworkpiecesonlywhenmotoristurned
offandthemachineisatacompletestandstill.
Installthemachinesothatthereissufficientspaceforsafe
operationandworkpiecehandling.

Themachineisequippedwitha16AmpCCEEuroplug,mountedat
thebacksideoftheframe.

Attention:
‐Checkfirstifthesawspindlerunsfreelyandifallsafetydevices
arefittedbeforestartingthemachine.
‐Ifthedirectionofrotationisnotcorrect,thephaseconverter
insidetheCCEEuroplugmustbepushedinandturned180°.
(Clockwisedirectionofthemainspindleiscorrect).
Forsafetyreasonsthismustonlybedonewithoutthesawblade
installed!
5.5Startingoperation
YoucanstartthemachinewiththegreenON‐button.
TheredOFF‐buttonstopsthemachine(H,Fig20‐1).
Thescoringsawbladeisstartedandstoppedsimultaneouslywith
themainsawblade.

Themaximumdiameterofthesawbladesusedonthemachineis
315mm.
Checksawbladeforflaws(cracks,brokenteeth,bending)before
installation.Donotusefaultysawblades.
WARNING:
TheuseofHSSsawbladesisprohibited;useonlycarbidetipped
sawblades.
Thesawbladeteethmustpointincuttingdirection(down)
Alwayswearsuitablegloveswhenhandlingsawblades.

tobeloosened.
Thelateralmovementofthescorersawbladeisachievedby
turningtheexcenter(S),lockagainafteradjustment(R).
7.6Slidingtablesetup
Whenloadingpanelsandwhencuttingusingtheparallelfencethe
slidingtableshouldbelocked.
Tolockthetableengagetheindexpinonthefrontendofthe
slidingtable.
Ifoveralongperiodoftimemanyshortmovementsofthesliding
tablearemadebye.g.crosscuttingsolidwood,thenitispossible
thattheballcarrierbetweentheupperandlowerpartofthe
slidingtablewillmove.
Thismeansitwillnolongerbecorrectlypositionedtoallowthe
slidingtabletoslidethroughitsfullcourse.
Theoperatorwillfeelresistanceintheslidingtablemotionand
thefullstrokewillnotbeachieved.
Thiseffectcanbecorrectedsimplybypushingthetablewithafew
short,lightpushesagainstthebufferstopattheend,untilthe
positionoftheballcarrierisadjustedandthetablecanbemoved
againalongitsfullstroke.
Itisrecommendedtocleantheslidingtableonceaweek,andto
removeallsawdustandchipswhichgraduallyslowdownthe
slidingtable.
Afteralldusthasbeenblownoff,thinoil,suchasWD‐40,should
besprayedontothesteelguiderodsonboththeupperandlower
partoftheslidingtable.
Neveruseathickoilorgrease!
7.7Crosscuttablesetup
Crosscuttablesetupshallneverbeperformedwhenthemachine
isrunning.
Liftthecrosscuttableontotelescopicarmsupportandslideonto
slidingtableT‐grooveandlockinplace(Fig30).

holdsthefencepivotingT‐nutandmovethefenceuntilthe
measurementcorrespondstothelengthofthepreviouslycut

oneanother.
Thebestwaytocheckthatallscalescorrespond,istomake
severaltestcutsonthedifferentscales.
