Proper use
The Smart Compact Payment Box is
only intended to be used with an
accounting system tested by JURA.
Use for any other purpose will be
deemed improper. JURA cannot
accept any responsibility for the con-
sequences of improper use.
Before using the machine read these
instructions for use thoroughly and
completely and comply with the
instructions they contain. A warranty
service is not applicable for damage
or defects caused by non-compli-
ance with the instructions for use.
Keep these instructions for use close
to the machine and pass them on to
the next user.
For your safety
ZOnly operate the machine with
the mains adapter provided.
ZDo not allow children to play with
the machine.
ZChildren may not clean or service
the machine unless supervised by
a responsible person.
ZChildren aged and over may
only operate the machine with-
out supervision if they have been
instructed in how to use it safely.
Children must be able to recog-
nise and understand the potential
dangers arising from incorrect
use.
ZPeople, including children, who

Compatibility
The Smart Compact Payment Box is compatible
with all professional models of the W, GIGA and
X lines (except IMPRESSA X/X/X/X/X and
X/X avantgarde).
Please note that not all available accounting
systems are compatible with the Smart Compact
Payment Box. The Smart Compact Payment Box
has been tested with the following accounting
systems:

ZHug-Witschi DIVA
ZPBV Kaufmann Mifare Vending Reader VR
ZMicrotronic Mlight Reader
ZMicrotronic Mlight Reader
ZMicrotronic Msmart V

ZDallmayr Card System Ultimo

Maintenance
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or
hard objects to clean the machine. These may
damage the coating of the housing.
2 Installing the Smart Compact Pay-
ment Box
You can either connect the Smart Compact
Payment Box to the coffee machine by cable or
use the transmitter supplied as standard for a
wireless connection.
ETo connect the Smart Compact Payment
Box to the coffee machine, a functioning
accounting system must be installed.
ERemove the rear wall of the Smart Compact
Payment Box to connect the various cables
to the MDB interface unit. Screws for
attaching the rear wall from the inside after
connecting the cables are supplied with the
unit.
Connecting the transmitter (for a wireless
connection)
TRemove front cover.
TLoosen and remove the two screws on the
rear cover.
TSlide up the rear cover.
TPlug RS connecting cable into connec-
tion on MDB interface unit.
TConnect transmitter to the other end of the
connecting cable.
TPlace transmitter in recess in rear cover.
TPlug mains adapter into connection ().
TInsert rear cover and slide down.
TInsert and tighten the two screws on the
rear cover.
TPlug Smart Compact Payment Box's mains
plug into power socket.
TSwitch on coffee machine.

Connecting to the machine (with cable)
TSwitch off coffee machine at power switch.
TMove switch for accounting mode to
bottom position (payment mode).
TConnect RS cable to coffee machine.
EIf using the intelligent fresh water kit:
Connect RS cable to Mini Hub of intelli-
gent fresh water kit.
TInsert the mains plug into a power socket.
TSwitch on coffee machine.
3 Configuring the Smart Compact
Payment Box
The process for configuring the Smart Compact
Payment Box (e.g. machine selection) is explained
below.
Precondition: The PC software of the Smart
Compact Payment Box is installed and up to date.
TSwitch off coffee machine at power switch.
TRemove Smart Compact Payment Box's
mains plug from power socket.
TRemove RS cable (if connected).
TConnect Smart Compact Payment Box to PC
with the USB cable.
TPlug Smart Compact Payment Box's mains
plug into power socket.
The Smart Compact Payment Box switches
on.
TConfigure Smart Compact Payment Box
with the PC software.
EThe instructions for use for the PC software
are contained in the software.
TRemove USB cable.
The Smart Compact Payment Box switches
off again. The changes will be applied the
next time it is switched on.
TReconnect RS cable (if cable connection
is wanted).
TSwitch on coffee machine.
EPrices can be set and changed at any time.
The coffee machine and Smart Compact
Payment Box do not have to be switched off.
4 Establishing connection between
transmitter and coffee machine
EJURA Smart Connect must be fitted in the
coffee machine.
EThe distance between the Smart Compact
Payment Box and coffee machine must not
exceed . m.
TBriefly press reset button of the Smart
Connect (e.g. with a pen).
The LED flashes.
TThen (within sec.) press the transmitter's
reset button.
The LEDs light up to indicate that a connec-
tion has been established.
EIf a connection cannot be established
between Smart Connect and the transmitter,
they may be too far apart (max. . m) or
there may be machines in between which
are affecting the signal.
5 Uninstalling the Smart Compact
Payment Box
TMove switch for accounting mode to top
position (non-payment mode).
TWait approximately seconds.
TSwitch off coffee machine at power switch.
TDisconnect the mains plug.
TRemove RS cable (either on the coffee
machine or on the Mini Hub of the intelli-
gent fresh water kit).
6 Accounting mode
Switch for accounting mode:
ZTop position:
UMachine is in non-payment mode
UStatus LED flashes
ZBottom position:
UMachine is in payment mode
UStatus LED on continuously
EThe accounting mode must not be changed
while a drink is being prepared.

EIf the connection between the Smart
Compact Payment Box and the coffee
machine is broken in payment mode, all
products are locked. No products can be
prepared.

ZOn: no errors; Smart Compact Payment Box
functioning
ZOff: error (mains plug not plugged in, unit not
connected to coffee machine or faulty LED)
ZFlashing ( s on / s off): no errors; non-pay-
ment mode is active
ZFlashing rapidly: no errors; external accounting
system connected and active; machine is in
payment mode
