handle a large number of component video inputs, featuring 8 component or VGA video and audio input
groups and 3 output groups. The Flash Matrix also offers great expandability, and is compatible with
any digital HDTV or SDTV format.
The new Flash Matrix offers maximum compatibility by supporting all HDTV and SDTV formats,
including 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 1080i/540p, and 720p. For VGA switching, it supports resolutions up
to 1366x768 at 72 Hz. Offering the ultimate in component or VGA signal connectivity for commercial or
high-end home theater installations, the Flash Matrix ensures flawless switching and crystal-clear
distribution of video and audio signals.
Convenient Controls
The Flash Matrix brings ease of complex component or VGA signal switching to a new level, with three
ways to control. The included infrared remote control allows you to switch between any input and output
group with the push of a few buttons. In addition to the IR remote control, the Flash Matrix offers a
standard RS-232 port, which can accept standard ASCII commands. This enables control of the Flash
Matrix with a 3rd party home theater control system, such as those sold by Creston, AMX, Panja,
Dataton, (or from a standard PC). Any input group can be connected to any or all of the output groups.
For an easy visual look at what is going on within the Flash Matrix, the front panel features 3 rows of 8
LED’s, to show which input(s) and output(s) are currently connected. To round out the control
capabilities of the Flash Matrix, there are three manual override buttons conveniently located on the
front panel, when the situation calls for hands-on, quick control.
Easy Installation and Expandability
Key Digital System’s Flash Matrix offers virtually unlimited expansion capability. Multiple units can be
daisy-chained together when the application requires, to easily increase the number of digital inputs.
Each switcher could have individual IR and RS232 address from 0 to 15. Therefore up to 15 switchers
can be controlled from a single remote in one room. Plus, the Flash Matrix is housed in a convenient 2U
rack mountable frame, to make installation easy and convenient.
Widest Range of Signal Compatibility
The Flash Matrix supports all HDTV and SDTV formats, including 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 1080i/540p,
and 720p, at either 50 or 60 Hz refresh rates. Bandwidth is -3 dB at 140 MHz, linear phase pass band.
Video gain is unity 2x for Y, Pb, and Pr. All input and output groups support the same scanning formats.
