
Cleanthefollowingcomponentsatleastoncedaily.Cleanmorefrequentlyifyourpharmacy
dispensesmanydust‐generatingmedicationsorifyouexperiencecountingerrors.
Materials:70%isopropylalcohol,lint‐freeclothandwater.
Donotusefacialtissue,cottonballsorcottonswabstocleantheunit.

Beforestarting,unplugtheunit.

1.TopFunnel
oRemovethetopfunnelandmiddlechannelfromtheunit.
oCleanoutsideandinsidethoroughlywithalcohol.


2.GlassDetectorWindows
Theunit’scountingsensorsarelocatedbehindfourglass
windowsinsidethesquarefunnelhole.Mostcountingerrorsarecausedbypilldust
accumulatingontheedgesandcornersofthewindows.Cleanthewindowswell.

oWipeoffexcesspilldustonthedetectorwindowswithadrylint‐free
cloth.
oWetacleanclothwithalcoholandcleantheinsideofthefourglass
windowsthoroughlytoremoveallremainingdustandresidue.Carefully
wipeback‐and‐forth,notup‐and‐down.
oDonotpresshardasthismaybreaktheglasswindows.Brokenwindows
arenotcoveredunderthewarranty.
oWipeglasswindowsdrywithcleanclothtoremovealcoholstreaks.


3.CountingTray(KL16only)
oCarefullyremovetheclearplastictraycover.Cleanallpartsthoroughlywithawater‐
dampenedcloth(notalcohol).Wipedry.Replacethetraycover.
oTurnthetrayover,andwipethesilversensorstripwithawater‐dampenedcloth(not
alcohol).


4.TraySensor(KL16only)
o(Locatedonthebottomoftheunitinbackofthecountingtray.)Thissensor
detectsthetray’ssilversensorstrip,tellingtheunitthatthetrayisproperly
seated.
oWiththecountingtrayremoved,tiptheunitcarefullytoaccessthetray
sensor.Cleanwithawater‐dampenedcloth(notalcohol).


5.BlackLowerFunnel(KL16dfonly)
oUnscrewtheblacklowerfunnel.Cleantheinteriorthoroughlywithalcohol.Dryblack
funnel’sinteriorthoroughly.
oCleanthesilverexitgatewithalcoholandalint‐freecloth.Drythoroughly.
oReassembleonlywhenpartsaredry.


ontotheclothfirst.
B. FingerprintScanner–carefullycleanwithalcohol.Donotspraydirectlyontothefingerprint
scanner.Instead,sprayontotheclothfirst.


7.CleaningtheExitFront(KL16only)
Periodically,theexitfrontmayneedcleaningtoclearthecountingtray’sguidetracks.
oToremove,holdtheexitfrontatbothsidesandpullfirmlysothatit
releasesfromitslockedposition.Slidetheexitfrontout.
oCleantheguidetracksandexitfrontwithalcoholandcloth.Drythoroughly.
oToreplacetheexitfront,slideitbackintothemachineuntilitlocksin
position.


