Warning
You are advised to test the waterproof case empty by submerging it
in water to ensure that it does not malfunction.
You must ensure there are no foreign objects around the rubber seal
or connecting terminals on the waterproof case. It is easy for sand or
dust to become stuck after opening the case which may result in the
impairment of the waterproof performance.
Be extremely careful since it may result in malfunction. If foreign
objects adhere to the inner side of the side door, wipe them o with
a dry, lint-free cloth. If any liquid adheres to the camera or inner side
of the side door, wipe o with a soft dry cloth. Do not open or close
the side door near the water, when underwater, using wet hands,
or when the camera is wet, as this may cause water leakage.

Instructions
Long Press Power/Mode (3) to turn on/o the camera.
Battery
The camera has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Please fully
charge the battery before use.
1. Connect the USB cable to the camera and the other end to power
2. Charging Indicator (11) is red whilst charging
3. The LCD (10) will display a battery icon which will be full when fully
charged
Note: The camera body may be warm after extended use.
This is normal.
Lift the Battery Cover (15) and pull the battery tab to remove the
rechargeable battery.
Memory card
To be able to record video or capture photos using the camera,
you must have your micro SD card inserted. (A Class 10 SD card
is recommended for best performance).
1. Ensure the camera is turned o
2. Insert your memory card into the Micro SD Card Slot (4)
3. You may need to format your SD card when inserted into
the camera; you can do this from the settings menu

Mode
Press the Power/Mode (3) to select mode.
Video Mode Record video clips
Photo Mode Take still photos
Slow-motion Mode Record video clips in slow-motion
Playback Mode View photos and videos
Settings Mode Change settings
Video Mode
• The camera will start in Video Mode
• Press Shutter/Ok (1) to start/stop recording
• When recording, the LCD (10) will show a timer icon and will display
how long it has been recording for
Note: The camera will stop recording and save automatically when
the memory remaining or battery power is empty.

Slow Motion Mode
1. Turn on the camera and press the Power/Mode Button (3) until you
have navigated to the Slow-Motion Mode
2. Press Shutter/Ok (1) to start/stop recording in slow motion
3. To change the slow motion settings, press the Power/Mode Button (3)
to navigate to the settings screen and press the Shutter/Ok (1) Button
4. Use Up (13) and Down (14) to navigate to the Slow Motion option,
and press the Shutter/Ok (1) Button to enter the sub-menu and
select an option
Note: In order to record in slow motion, the camera will need to capture
more frames per second than normal. However, this will mean that the
camera will record in a lower quality (1080p or 720p depending on
option selected).
Photo Mode
1. Turn on the camera and press the Power/Mode Button (3) once to
select Photo Mode
2. Press Shutter/Ok (1) to take a picture
Audio
Using the camera with the waterproof case will record less audible
sound. For best audio quality, use without the case, and make sure
it does not get wet.

Settings
1. Press the Power/ Mode Button (3) to navigate to the settings screen
and press the Shutter/Ok (1) Button
2. Use Up (13) and Down (14) to navigate and the Shutter/Ok (1) to
enter a sub-menu and select an option
3. Press Power/Mode (3) until you have navigated to the ‘X’ option,
then press Shutter/OK (1) to conrm
Playback Mode
1. Turn on the camera and press Power/Mode (3) until you have
navigated to the Playback Mode and press Shutter/Ok (1)
2. Press Up (13) and Down (14) to select the item you want to view
3. If it is a video, press Shutter/Ok (1) to play/stop the le, and hold
the Up (13) and Down (14) buttons for over 1 second to fast forward
and rewind
Note: To delete a le please access the camera through a PC, or a
mobile device using the Wi-Fi app.

Advanced video and photo modes will allow more control over your
Kitvision action camera. These modes can be selected from the
settings mode:
1. Turn on the camera and press Power/Mode (3) until you have
navigated to the settings mode and press Shutter/Ok (1) to enter
the settings mode
2. Use Up (13), Down (14), Power/Mode (3), and Shutter/OK (1) to
nd your required advanced mode from the menu and select the
required option
3. Exit the Settings Mode. Now when you use the Photo or Video
Mode, the selected advanced mode will be activated
4. To deactivate the advanced mode, repeat the process shown
above, but change the setting back to the default option
Advanced Video and Photo Modes
Time Lapse Captures multiple photos at set time intervals
and creates a video
Loop Recording Records video segments in set intervals
Timed Captures a photo after a set time interval
Auto Captures multiple photos at set time intervals
Drama (Burst) Capture multiple photos quickly at
set time intervals

Connecting the camera to an HDTV
1. Use a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable (not included) to connect the
camera to a HDTV using the Micro HDMI Output (6)
2. Turn on the HDTV and select the appropriate HDMI source
3. When viewing is nished, turn o the camera and HDTV before
removing the HDMI cable
Note: The screen will mirror the information on the camera screen.
Download the Wi-Fi App
Download ‘XDV’ from the Apple App Store™ or Google Play Store™.
Pairing
1. Press Up/Wi-Fi (13)
2. The built-in LCD (10) will display the Wi-Fi connection details screen
3. Go to the settings of your mobile device, and select the Wi-Fi name
that is displayed on the LCD (10), and input the Wi-Fi password
displayed on the LCD (10)
4. Once connected, remain on the Wi-Fi connection details screen
on the camera
5. Open the ‘XDV’ application and press the button on screen to
connect to the camera

Waterproof case
1. Open by lifting the front of the case catch upwards
2. Insert the camera correctly so that the case closes easily and
provides a tight seal
3. Snap the top clip shut to ensure the case is waterproof
4. To operate the camera, use the waterproof case’s external
spring buttons
Connecting to a PC
There are two ways to do this:
• Inserting the micro SD into a card reader
• Connecting to a computer using the supplied micro USB cable.
To use this option:
1. Connect the camera to a PC using a USB cable and the camera’s
Micro USB Input (5)
2. Turn the camera on
3. Use your computer’s le explorer to locate and select the camera

Troubleshooting
No power Remove the battery and SD card from the
camera and wait for ve minutes. Insert the
battery only, and charge the camera for
1 hour. Then turn on the camera while still
connected to the power source.
No SD card Check that there is a compatible and
formatted SD card in the camera.
SD card error Save les you want to keep onto a PC and
then format the SD card.
Camera won’t turn on Check the battery is rmly pushed into the
battery compartment. Charge the camera
using a mains power adaptor.
Blurry photos You need to hold the camera still whilst
pressing the photo mode button.
Care for your Escape 4KW Action Camera
Please DON’T:
• Get the camera wet, unless sealed in the included waterproof case
• Drop the camera as this will invalidate your warranty
• Open up the camera. There are no user serviceable parts inside
• Expose the camera to extreme temperatures or rapid changes of
hot to cold or vice versa
Please DO:
• Clean the camera with a soft dry cloth and no detergents
• Clean the camera case after it has been in water (salt especially)
with fresh tap water
• Use a soft dry cloth to wipe the surface then leave in a cool,
ventilated place to dry
