Warning
You are advised to test the waterproof case empty by submerging it in water
to ensure that it does not malfunction.
You must ensure there are no foreign objects around the rubber seal or
connecting terminals on the waterproof case. It is easy for sand or dust to
become stuck after opening the case which may result in the impairment of
the waterproof performance.
Be extremely careful since it may result in malfunction. If foreign objects adhere
totheinnersideofthesidedoor,wipethemowithadry,lint-freecloth.Ifany
liquidadherestothecameraorinnersideofthesidedoor,wipeowithasoft
dry cloth. Do not open or close the side door near the water, when underwater,
using wet hands, or when the camera is wet, as this may cause water leakage.

Instructions for use
Turning power on and o
1. Long Press the Power/Mode button (3) to turn on the camera.
2. Long press the Power/Mode button (3) to turn o the camera.
Charging the battery
The camera has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. Please fully charge the
battery before use.
1. Turnothecamera.
2. Connect the micro USB connector of the USB cable to the camera and the
other end to a PC/mains charger USB port.
Note: The camera will turn back on once connected to a power source,
forthemostecientchargingturnthecameraobyholdingthePower/
mode button (3).
3. The Charging Indicator (8) will be solid blue whilst charging.
4. OncefullychargedtheChargingIndicator(8)willturno.
Note: The camera body may be warm after extended use. This is normal.
Inserting the memory card
The Explore 1080 Action Camera doesn’t have any internal memory. To be
able to record video or capture photos using the camera, you must have your
micro SD card inserted (32 GB max, not included).
1. Ensurethecameraisturnedo.
2. Insert your memory card into the micro SD card slot (5).
3. ThecamerausestheFAT32leformat.IfthemicroSDcardisincompatible,
it will need formatting.
4. To format the card correctly, go to the ‘Changing the Camera Settings’
section on page 16 and follow the ‘General Settings’ instructions.

Thecamerahas6dierentmodes:VideoMode,PhotoMode,BurstMode,
Time Lapse Mode, Settings Mode, and Playback Mode.
1. Press the Power/Mode Button (3) repeatedly to select between these modes.

Using Video Mode
By selecting Video mode you can capture high quality, full HD videos with
your Explore 1080 Action Camera. In the Settings mode you can change the
Resolution, Exposure and add Date Stamps to your video recordings.
1. Turn on the camera and it will start in Video mode automatically. If in another
mode, press the Power/Mode button (3) until the camera enters Video mode.
2. Use the LCD Display (9) to view your shot, then press the Shutter/Ok Button
(1) to start recording.
3. WhenrecordingtheTopOperationIndicator(2)willash,theLCD(9)will
show a red video icon in the top left corner and a timer will display how long
it has been recording for. There is a timer counting down which is displaying
the remaining recording time left on the SD card.
4. Press the Shutter/Ok Button (1) again to stop recording.
Note: If the camera has entered the screen saver mode you will need to press
any button to resume normal state before you can start/stop the recording.
Note: The camera will stop recording and save automatically when the memory
capacity is full or it has run out of battery power.

Recording audio within a video
If using the camera with the waterproof case, audio will be recorded although
it will be less audible. For best audio quality, the camera will need to be used
without the case. When using the camera without a case, please take extra
care and make sure it does not get wet.
Using Photo Mode
By selecting Photo mode you can capture a single image with your camera.
You can change the Resolution in the Settings Mode.
1. Turn on the camera and press the Power/Mode Button (3) until you enter
Photo mode.
2. Use the LCD Display (9) to view your shot, and then press the Shutter/Ok
Button (1) to take a still image.
3. After the image has been taken, the camera will make a ‘shutter’ sound
eectandtheLCDwillblinkonce.Theshuttersoundcanbechangedor
removed in the settings menu.

Using Burst Mode
By selecting Burst mode you can take a series of 3 photos within one ‘burst’,
the Burst settings can be changed in the Settings Mode.
1. Turn on the camera and press the Power/Mode Button (3) until you enter
Burst mode.
2. Use the LCD Display (9) to view your shot, and then press the Shutter/Ok
Button (1) to take a series of still images. The camera will make a series of
‘shutter’soundeectswhilsttakingthephotographs.
Using Timer Mode
By selecting Timer mode you can take a photo at set interval, The Timer /
Time Lapse settings can be changed in the Settings mode.
1. Turn on the camera and press the Power/Mode Button (3) until you enter
Timer Mode.
2. Use the LCD Screen (9) to view your shot, and then press the Shutter/Ok
Button (1) to activate the Timer photo sequence. At the interval the LCD
Screen(9)willashandthecamerawillsounda‘Beep/Shutter’soundeect.
Note: This features settings are applied in the main setting menu.

Using Time Lapse Mode
By selecting Time Lapse mode you can take a series of photos at set intervals,
whenstitchedtogetheritwillcreateavideoeectofaveryslowframerateto
show movement over a long period of time. Photos captured in Time Lapse
modewillbesavedassinglelesandexternalsoftwareisrequiredtoconvert
thecapturedphotosintoavideole.TheTimeLapsesettingscanbechanged
in the Settings mode.
Note: To activate the time lapse feature it must be programmed in the main
settingsmenurst.
1. Turn on the camera and press the Power/Mode Button (3) until you enter
Settings mode.
2. Use the up and down keys (10) (12) to scroll through the options in the
menu until you see Time lapse.
3. Press the Shutter/Ok Button (1) to enter the setting and apply the time
intervals in which you would like the camera to take a photograph.
4. Press the Shutter/Ok Button (1) to select the appropriate time and you will
be back on the main settings menu.
5. Use the up and down keys (10) (12) to scroll through the options in the menu
again until you see Continuous lapse.
6. Press the Shutter/Ok Button (1) to turn continuous lapse on or o.
7. PresstheShutter/OkButton(1)toconrmyourselection.
8. Press the Power/Mode Button (3) to exit the settings menu.
9. Press the Shutter/Ok Button (1) to start/stop the time lapse.
Whenthecontinuouslapsefeatureisturnedo,thechosendurationinthe
time lapse setting will become the self timer duration instead.

1. OnceavideoleisselectedpresstheShutter/OkButton(1)toplay.

Up Button (10) or rewind by pressing the Down Button (12).
3. Whilst playing the video you can pause by pressing the Shutter/Ok Button (1).
4. Press the Power/Mode Button (3) to return to the playback selection mode.
5. Press the Up Button (10) to return to the video mode.
Removing the battery
1. Lift the battery cover (13).
2. Pull the battery tab to remove the rechargeable battery.
Using Playback Mode
1. Turn on the camera and press the Up button (10) to enter the playback
selection mode.
2. Use the Up Button (10) and Down Button (12) to choose between photo
or videoleplaybackandpresstheShutter/OkButton(1)toconrmyour
selection.
3. UsetheUpButton(10)andDownButton(12)tochoosetheleyouwant
toplayandpresstheShutter/OkButton(1)toconrmyourselection.

Changing the camera settings
General settings
1. To enter the general settings menu, turn on the camera and press the
Power/Mode Button (3) until the Settings mode is selected.
2. PresstheShutter/OkButton(1)toconrmtheselection.
3. Use the Up Button (10) and Down Button (12) to navigate through the
Setup Menu.
4. Use the Shutter/Ok Button (1) to enter a sub-menu.
5. Use the Power/Mode Button (3) to return to the setup menu.
Inthegeneralsettingsmenu,youwillndthefollowingoptions:

Video Resolution Change the video resolution for the video recording. Select a
smallermoviesizeforreducedlesizeorahighermoviesize
for better quality

Looping Video With this setting ON the camera will record the video in 5 minute
length video clips to the SD card

Time Stamp This function can be used to add a date and time stamp to your
videos as you take them

Exposure Use the Exposure slider to change the exposure of your video
This can be used to compensate light when using the camera in
very bright or dark situations.

Using Wi-Fi
With the Explore’s built-in Wi-Fi, you can use your smart device as a camera

Pairing the camera to your device
1. Turn on the camera and press the Down/Wi-Fi Button (12).
2. The built-in LCD (9) will show the message ‘Waiting for Wi-Fi connection…’
3. Search for a Wi-Fi hotspot on your smart phone/tablet, select the
“ICAM-Explore”networkandyouwillbepromptedforapassword;enter
“1234567890”toproceed.
4. Once connected the camera’s built-in LCD (9) will enter sleep mode.
5. Open the ‘Ez iCam’ application, the app home screen (Figure 1) will open.
6. Fortherstconnectionpressthe+adddevicesicon(Figure2).
7. Choose the device to connect from the list that appears.
8. Once connected, press the icon that represents your paired device to
proceed to the live view (Figure 3).

Connecting the camera to an HDTV
1. Connect the Micro HDMI end of a micro HDMI to HDMI cable (not included)
to the camera’s Micro HDMI port (14), and the other end to the HDTV’s
HDMI port.
2. Turn on the HDTV and select the appropriate HDMI source.
3. Followtheinstructionsfor‘Playbackofles’mentionedearlierinthismanual.
4. Whenviewingisnished,turnothecameraandHDTVbeforeremoving
the HDMI cable.
Connecting the camera to a PC
Therearetwowaystodownloadlesfromthecamera’smicroSDtoacomputer:
•By inserting the micro SD into a card reader
•By connecting the camera to a computer using the supplied micro USB cable
Connecting the camera to a PC with the USB cable
1. Connect one end of the supplied USB cable to the camera’s micro USB
port (6), and the other end to the PC’s USB port and turn the camera on.
2. Turn on the camera, a ‘Connecting’ prompt will appear on the LCD screen.
3. Open [My Computer] or [Windows Explorer®] on your PC. ‘Removable Disk’
will be in the drive list. Double-click the ‘Removable Disk’ icon to view its
contents. Files stored on the camera are located in the folder named ‘DCIM’.

Waterproof case
The Explore 1080 Action Camera includes a case that is waterproof up to
30 metres. When using the camera in a wet environment, always use the
waterproof case. It is recommended that the case be used at all times for
protection reasons.
Using the waterproof case
1. Open the waterproof case by lifting the front of the case catch upwards.
2. Insert the camera correctly so that the case closes easily and provides
a tight seal.
3. Snap the top clip shut to ensure the case is waterproof.
4. To operate the camera, use the waterproof case’s external spring buttons.
Mount accessories
In order to use the camera for various outdoor activities, we have provided
threedierentmounts:
•Mount(A)isusedtoxthecameratothehandlebarsontoabicycle
•Mount Assembly (B) uses an adhesive mount to hold the camera and the
providedstrapstoxittoaventedhelmet
•AdhesiveMounts(C)areusedtomountthecameratoat/curved,
smooth surfaces

Fixing the camera to a bike
1. Unscrew both screws (i) and place both halves (ii) of the Bicycle Mount (A)
around the desired position of the pole with the rubber grip in between
the pole.
2. Replacethescrews(i)andtightenthemuntilthemountisrmlyinplace.
3. Remove the screw from the top of the Mount (iii) and slot the camera (inside
waterproof case) into position, replace screw and tighten to lock in position.
4. If you wish to use a forward facing bar you may wish to use the 90ºadaptor (iv)
in between the camera and the bicycle mount to make the camera
forward-facing.

Fixing the camera to a vented helmet
1. Fix the camera to the mount clip (i).
2. ThreadthesuppliedstrapsthroughtheslotsinaatorcurvedAdhesive
Mount(don’tremovetheadhesivelm)(ii).
3. Attach the camera assembly to the strap mount assembly by sliding it in
until it clicks into position.
4. Afterxingthecameratothemountcorrectly,usethestraptoxittothe
helmet. Adjust the length according to the helmet’s size, and then push the
clips down into position to lock the straps in place.

Fixing the camera to a board/at surface
1. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying the adhesive mount.
2. Peeloadhesivepaperandstickthemountinthedesiredposition.
3. Fix the camera to the Mount Clip (i).
4. Attach the camera assembly to the Adhesive Mount (C) by sliding it in
untilit“Click”intoposition.
