Unpacking and Setting Up



1. Remove the plastic bag from the machine and remove all accessories in
the packing material.



















 Operator's Manual (1).
 3 x 8 mm screws for RFC Option I/F Board (5)
 Power Cord (1)
 Printer Cable (1)
 Prism Unit (1)

2. Remove the foam packing and several pieces of tape holding the machine
housing into position.




















3. Remove the 2 screws from the front of the machine. Retain the screws as
they will be needed later in this procedure.



4. Remove 2 screws from the top OPTICAL COVER, slide to the rear and
then lift the cover off the machine.













5. Remove the foam from the MIRROR of the OPTICAL COVER.














6. Remove the several pieces of foam packing and tape from the inside of
the machine, refer to the illustration.





























NOTE
Check and remove any material from the SCAN DRIVE SHAFT.



7. Install the PRISM into the PRISM HOLDER and then install the SHIELD
PLATE removed in the previous step of this procedure.

NOTE
Be sure to install the SHIELD PLATE even if the PRISM is not to be used.













8. Replace the OPTICAL COVER.















9. Connect the Printer to the Reader, follow this procedure  .

10. Connect the Personal Computer to the Reader, follow this procedure  .

11. Connect power to the machine and check operation.



Connecting
the
MSP3500
Printer.



PR Mode (Scanner + Printer)
1. Connect the Printer Cable to either of the ports at the rear of the MSP 3500.
NOTE:
The MSP 3500 Printer will support two DV Plus Scanners connected to it like. If
you intend to use this type of configuration, it is possible for the Printer to print
an identifier on each print so the operators can distinguish between which
scanner the prints came from.
This is enabled in the DV Plus Function Mode, “S7”. See the User’s Manual of
the scanner for more details.
2. Connect the Printer Cable to the scanner.
3. Power on the Printer and the scanner.
4. After the Printer has initialized enter the Function mode on the scanner.
* Select Fb → START key is turned ON, it will display as follows.
 For MSP3500 : Fb → Pr → 35 → Fb
 For MSP3000 : Fb → Pr → 30 → Fb
6. Test the machine operation.



Connecting
To a

Personal
Computer.



PC Mode (Scanner + Personal Computer).

The Scanner is connected to a personal computer and the scanned images
can be uploaded to the computer. An optional PC interface kit required for
connection to a personal computer. The SCSI cable should meet the following
specifications:




1. Power down the Reader and the Personal computer.

2. Connect the USB cable to the PC’s USB 2.0 port.


3. Connect the other end of the cable to Personal Computer.


5. Check Reader operation.
6. The
printer can be switched using Control Panel.






