Before You Begin
CAUTION: Risk of property damage. To support the bedpan
washer and piping, provide sufficient reinforcement or mounting
brackets as required inside the wall.
NOTE: Refer to the roughing-in diagram for dimensional
information.
Shut off the main valve and water supply.
Observe all local plumbing codes and building codes.
Plumb using 1/2″NPT pipe, or 3/8″NPT pipe, or 1/2″copper
tubing, elbows, and adapters. Secure the piping to reinforcements
in the wall.
Provide pipe holes in the finished wall according to the
roughing-in diagram.
Kohler Co. reserves the right to make revisions in the design of
bedpan washers without notice, as specified in the Price Book.

1. Install the Vacuum Breaker
CAUTION: Risk of property damage. Do not subject the
vacuum breaker to continuous pressure for more than twelve
hours.
NOTE: Install the vacuum breaker at least 6″(15.2 cm) above the
fixture rim. Consult local codes for vacuum breaker height.
NOTE: Apply a thread sealant where applicable.
Thread one 1/2″nipple into both the supply outlet piping and
the supply inlet piping. Ensure that the threads of each 1/2″
nipple extend beyond the finished wall.
Slide the wall bracket over both the 1/2″nipples until it is snug
against the finished wall.
Insert one sleeve through each hole of the wall bracket and
thread onto each 1/2″nipple. Secure with a seat wrench or a
7/16″square bar. Do not overtighten.

2. Complete Vacuum Breaker Installation
NOTE: Do not install the shroud until the roughing-in and finishing
is complete.
Lubricate and insert one O-ring into each outlet port and inlet
port on the vacuum breaker.
Slide the vacuum breaker assembly into both sleeves at the same
time. Secure with two socket screws. Tighten the socket screws
with a 5/32″hex wrench. Do not overtighten.
Rotate the shroud so the opening faces the back. Slide the shroud
over the vacuum breaker assembly. Ensure that the threaded pin
comes through the hole at the top of the shroud.
Thread the shroud cover onto the threaded pin until hand tight.

3. Install the Foot Control Unit
Align the screw holes and place the base onto the back of the
valve. Secure with three flathead screws.
Connect the lavatory or sink supply to the valve outlet using the
supply manufacturer’s instructions.
Secure the valve assembly to the finished wall with three flathead
screws (not provided). Follow the roughing-in instructions that
are packed with the foot control valve.
Connect the cold and hot water supplies to the valve.
Slide the cover over the valve assembly. Ensure that the cover
does not have contact with a foot pedal. If a pedal touches the
cover, remove the cover and adjust the foot pedal.
To adjust a foot pedal, loosen the hex nut. Turn the adjustment
screw counterclockwise until the foot pedal can no longer touch
the cover. If more than one foot pedal is installed ensure that both
foot pedals are even. Tighten the hex nuts.
Turn on the main water supply. Use the key provided to fully
open the valve supply stops. Check for leaks. Repair as needed.
Slide the cover over the valve assembly. Secure with a plated
screw.

4. Install the Hose Assembly
Thread one end of the flexible hose into the supply outlet.
Securely tighten.
Thread the other end of the flexible hose into the nozzle assembly
outlet. Securely tighten.
Hang the nozzle from the supply clamp.

5. Installation Checkout
One Pedal Bedpan Washer
For a one pedal bedpan washer, turn on the main water supply.
Open both the check valve and the supply valve.
Check for leaks. Repair as needed.
Remove the aerator by turning it counterclockwise.
Run water through the hose for approximately one minute to
remove debris.
Test and verify that the nozzle operates normally.
Two Pedal Bedpan Washer
For a two pedal bedpan washer, repeat with the other check valve
and supply valve.
Turn the water off.
Remove any debris from the nozzle and reinstall.
Test and verify that the nozzle operates normally.

Avant de commencer
ATTENTION : Risque d’endommagement du matériel. Pour
supporter l’appareil de nettoyage à cuvettes et la tuyauterie,
prévoir un renfort suffisant ou des montants de fixation tel que
requis dans le mur.
REMARQUE : Se référer au plan de raccordement pour les
informations dimensionnelles.
Fermer la valve principale et couper l’alimentation d’eau
principale.
Respecter tous les codes de plomberie et de bâtiment locaux.
Mettre d’aplomb à l’aide d’un tube de 1/2″NPT, ou un tube de
3/8″N.P.T., ou un tube en cuivre de 1/2″, de coudes et
d’adaptateurs. Sécuriser la tuyauterie aux renforts dans le mur.
Prévoir des trous pour le tuyau dans le mur fini selon le plan de
raccordement.
