Before You Begin
Please read all instructions before you begin.
Shut off the water supply.
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
IMPORTANT! For proper drainage of the spout, only install to a
level surface.
Before installation, unpack the new faucet trim and inspect it for
damage. Return it to the carton until installation.
For optimum performance, Kohler Co. recommends installing
3/4″high flow valves connected to the spout with 5/8″Nominal
Tubing (3/4″OD).
If compression fittings are used, type M, K, or L hard drawn
tubing is recommended.
Provide an access panel for all installations.
Rigid connections are recommended for this installation, however
flexible hose is provided. Follow the instructions for your chosen
method of installation.

To avoid potential leaks, the connections between the valves and
the spout must not be skewed.
Kohler Co. reserves the right to make revisions in the design of
faucets without notice, as specified in the Price Book.

1. Preparation
NOTE: The spout comes preassembled to protect the product during
shipping. The spout will need to be partially disassembled prior to
installation.
Carefully remove the plug button and O-ring from the back of the
spout.
Remove the setscrew.
Lift the spout assembly off the spout shank.
NOTE: The spout base, gasket, and spout may remain assembled.
Remove the collar, rubber washer, and fiber washer from the
spout shank.
Test fit the spout shank to verify it will fit through the hole in the
deck.
Thread a mounting nut all the way down the spout shank and
each of the handle valves.
For thin mounting surfaces, provide plywood support under the
deck.

2. Prepare the Site
Locate and mark the mounting hole locations. Mounting holes
must be a minimum of 6″(15.2 cm) center-to-center. Refer to the
roughing-in information.
Drill the mounting holes.
Install the finished deck material.

3. Install the Shank and Valves
NOTE: This section applies to installations utilizing rigid
connections only. For installations utilizing flexible connections,
proceed to the ″Install the Spout″section.
Insert the spout shank upside down through the mounting hole
in the deck.
Insert each of the valves upside down into the appropriate
mounting hole. Cold should be on the right when facing the
faucet.
Measure the distance between each of the valves and the spout
shank to determine the tubing needed for either compression
fittings or solder connections. Allow for sufficient clearance.
Remove the valves and spout shank from the mounting holes.
Cut the tubing to the appropriate lengths according to your
measurements.
Preassemble the spout shank, valves, and tubing. Do not tighten
or solder any connections at this time.
Verify that the mounting nuts are still installed to the valves and
the spout shank.
Slide a fiber washer and then a rubber washer onto each valve
and the spout shank.
NOTE: The following steps require two people.

Slide the spout shank/valve assembly up through the mounting
holes in the deck.
Slide a gasket onto each valve body.
Loosely secure the assembly to the deck by threading an
escutcheon onto each valve body. Verify fit and make any
adjustments as needed.
NOTE: Do not install the spout or handle trim at this time.
IMPORTANT! Ensure a check valve is not installed to the spout
shank. If one is currently installed, remove it before soldering.
Solder or tighten all connections.

4. Install the Spout
Thread the collar onto the spout shank.
Slide the O-ring onto the spout shank.
Slip the spout base over the spout shank.
Thread the setscrew into the hole in the backside of the spout
base to secure the spout base to the shank.

NOTE: If the spout is already assembled, disregard these steps.
Set the gasket on the spout base.
Align the spout over the gasket and spout base.
Slide a washer onto each of the four screws.
With the washers in place, secure the spout to the base with the
four screws.
All Installations
Secure the spout assembly by threading the mounting nut up the
spout shank until snug.
Verify that the spout is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Make
any adjustments as needed.

5. Install the Handle Valves
If utilizing rigid connections and the handle valves are already
installed, proceed to the ″Install the Handle Trim″section.
Verify that a mounting nut is threaded all the way down each of
the valve bodies.
Slide a fiber washer, followed by a rubber washer, down one of
the valve bodies.
From the underside of the bath rim, insert the valve up through
the mounting hole. The valve marked COLD should be installed
to the right when facing the faucet.
From above the bath, slide the gasket onto the valve body.
Thread the escutcheon onto the valve body to secure.
Repeat for the other valve.

6. Install the Handle Trim
Close the valves (hot = clockwise, cold = counterclockwise).
Install a skirt over one of the valves and onto the escutcheon.
Slide a spline adapter onto the valve stem and secure with the
screw.
Position the handle assembly over the spline adapter.
Thread the skirt into the handle assembly until tight.
Repeat for the other valve.

7. Complete the Installation
For flexible connections only: Connect the outlets of the handle
valves to the spout inlets.
Connect the hot and cold water supplies to the handle valve
inlets.
For installations utilizing a check valve, place a washer between
the spout shank and the check valve. Otherwise cap the end of
the spout shank.
Turn on the water supplies.
Check all connections for leaks.
