BEFORE YOU BEGIN
A. HOW TO USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions carefully to familiarize
yourselfwiththerequiredtools,materials,andinstallation
sequences.Followthesectionsthatpertaintoyourpartic-
ular installation. This will help you avoid costly mistakes.
In addition to proper installation, read all operating and
safety instructions.
All information in these instructions is based on the latest
product information available at the time of publication.
Kohler Co. reserves the right to make changes in product
characteristics,packaging, or availability at anytimewith-
out notice.
These instructions contain important care, cleaning, and
warrantyinformation–please leave instructionsforthe
consumer.
B. PRODUCT PROPERTIES
Fireclay
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product
damage. Fireclay lavatory can chip or break easily
if bolts or nuts are overtightened or product is
handled carelessly.
For roughing-in and overall dimensions, see
Fig. #1 .
Fixture dimensions are nominal and conform to
tolerances by ANSI standard A112.19.9M.

C. PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS
Wall support bracing must be able to support 150
lbs.
Supply stops must not protrude from wall more
than 4”.
Three people are required for installation.
Wall and floor must be plumb and square.

(T) Pop-up drain 14-1/4”.
(S) 11” (Based on 12” riser which may require cutting).
*Supply stops must not protrude from wall more than 4”.

3. INSTALLATION
A. PREPARATION
1. Rough-in hot/cold water supplies and drain piping.
Refer to Fig. #1 .
NOTE: The trap must be installed so centerline of
lavatory outlet is 7-1/2” from finished wall.
NOTE: Supply stop handles (fully opened) must not
extend beyond 4” from finished wall to avoid
interference with back of pedestal.
2. Install sufficient bracing behind finished wall to support
150 pounds.
3. Mark location of lavatory hanger bolts and install the
hangerbolts. Theyshould protrude 1-3/4”from finished
wall.
NOTE: Ensure each hanger bolt height from floor is
exactbyusingalevel,orlavatorywillnotbelevelwhen
installed.

B. INSTALL FITTINGS
1. Install faucet and drain on lavatory. Use product
manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure 1-1/4” tailpiece is
installed in drain body.
C. INSTALL LAVATORY
NOTE: Three people are required for lavatory
installation: two people to support lavatory and one to
guide and attach hardware.
1. Carefully slide lavatory onto hanger bolts. Ensure
lavatory is level and drain is properly aligned. Adjust as
required.
2. Secure lavatory to wall with rubber washers, metal
washers and nuts. Do not overtighten nuts.
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product
damage. Fireclay lavatory can chip or break easily
if bolts or nuts are overtightened or product is
handled carelessly.

3. Connect drain and hot/cold water supplies to lavatory.
NOTE: Orient overflow bar so logos on bar are
readable before installation.
4. Install overflow bar by simultaneously pressing both
spring clips into overflow holes.

5. Turn on hot/cold supplies and run water through
lavatoryfaucettoflushoutsystem.Checkforleaks,and
repair as required.
D. INSTALL PEDESTAL
1. Peel protective paper from rubber pads. Press in place
around top of pedestal. Position pads approximately as
shown.
NOTE: Rubber pads are positioned to compensate
forirregularitiesbetweenlavatoryandpedestalmating
surfaces. Therefore, pad positions illustrated may not
be applicable to every installation.

2. Install bracket position and install as shown in
illustration. Secure with bolt, washer and nut.

3. Position pedestal base on piece of thin, waxed
cardboard provided. Back of pedestal base must be
even with back edge of cardboard.
NOTE: The thin, waxed cardboard will be used to
slide pedestal into position under lavatory.
4. Set spring in pedestal base between guide bumps.

NOTE: When placing the pedestal onto the pedestal
base,make sure the bracketattached to the bottomof
the pedestal aligns to the outside of the spring.

NOTE: Three people are required to perform the
followingsteps:two peopleto pressand holdpedestal
down, and one to slide pedestal into position.
5. Place pedestal onto pedestal base. Press pedestal
down to compress spring until pedestal seats on base.
6. While continuing downward pressure on pedestal,
carefully slide pedestal and cardboard into position
under lavatory.
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product
damage. Do not release downward pressure on
pedestal until positioned exactly as desired. Spring
tension could jam pedestal against lavatory
resulting in breakage.
7. Gradually release the downward pressure and allow
spring to lift pedestal up against lavatory.
8. While holding pedestal in position, carefully pull
cardboard material out from under pedestal base. Fig. #9

IMPORTANT CONSUMER INFORMATION
A. CARE AND CLEANING
Clean the outside surface of your fireclay product with
mild soap and warm water. Wipe the entire surface
completely dry with a clean, soft cloth.
If the surface of your fireclay product becomes
excessively dirty, you can use a general purpose cleaner
such as: Fantastik, LysolFoaming Disinfectant, Dow
Bathroom Cleaner Liquid, Scrub FreeSoap Scum
Remover, Soft Scrub, Spic and Span, or Mr. Clean.
B. REQUESTING SERVICE
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the
Kohler Warranty, its benefits, and limitations. Kohler Co.
and its distributors support you with one of the largest
Service Networks of its type. Here’s what you need to do
if you require service:
FIRST: Contact thedealer or contractor whosold and
installed the product. They should be able to
solve any problems you may have.
SECOND: If your dealer or contractor cannot solve the
problem, they will contact or supply you with
the name of the local Kohler Distributor and
the:KOHLER TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
THIRD: If you are unable to obtain warranty service
through either your contractor or Kohler Co.
distributor, please write us directly at Kohler
Co.,Attn: Customer Service Department, 444
Highland Drive, Kohler, WI 53044 USA, or by
calling 1-800-4-KOHLER from within the
USA.
FOURTH: Include all pertinent information regarding
yourclaim,includingacompletedescriptionof
the product, model numbers, colors, finishes,
and the date the product was installed.
Include a description of the problem, and a
photocopy of your invoice for the products
involved. Also give us the name of the
contractor and distributor.
C. LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY
Kohlerplumbing fixtures and fittings are warranted freeof
manufacturing defects.
Kohler Co. will, at its election, repair, replace, or make
appropriate adjustment where Kohler Co. inspection
discloses any such defects occurring in normal usage
within one year after installation. Kohler Co. is not
responsible for installation or removal costs.
To obtain warranty service, contact Kohler Co. either
through your Dealer or Plumbing Contractor, or by writing
Kohler Co., Attn: Customer Service Department, 444
Highland Drive, Kohler, WI 53044 USA, or by calling
1-800-4-KOHLER from within the USA.
Implied warranties, including that of merchantability
and fitness for a particular purpose, are expressly
limited in duration to the duration of this warranty.
Kohler Co. disclaims any liability for special,
incidental, or consequential damages.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an
implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of
special, incidental, or consequential damages, so these
limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This
warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also
have rights which vary from state to state.
Thislimitedwarrantyprovidesspecific legalrightsasthey
apply within the USA, and other rights may be available,
but may vary from country to country.
