Before You Begin
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
If possible, install the drain before installing the plumbing fixture.
Inspect the supply tubing for damage. Replace as necessary.
You can install this drain for either a countertop or
under-the-lavatory control. The lift rod and escutcheon required
for countertop installation must be ordered separately.
Both a long and short ball lever assembly are provided. Use
whichever assembly suits your installation and design needs. We
recommend the long ball lever for countertop installations.
Kohler Co. reserves the right to make revisions in the design of
faucets without notice, as specified in the Price Book.

1. Install the Drain
Disassemble the drain components. Remove the protective
material from the stopper and drain flange.
Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around the
underside of the drain flange according to the sealant
manufacturer’s instructions.
Insert the drain flange into the drain hole.
Assemble the drain gasket (tapered side up) and large plastic
washer to the drain flange, and partially thread the long or short
locknut to the drain flange.
NOTE: Use the long locknut for thin-wall and short locknut for
thick-wall lavatories.
Do not tighten the locknut at this time.
Install the small plastic washer and the drain body to the drain
flange and tighten securely. Do not use thread sealant.
Turn the drain flange so the drain lever is facing either forward
for under-the-lavatory control, or toward the desired location for
countertop control.

Install the Drain (cont.)
Carefully tighten the locknut, making certain that you do not
scratch the finish.
Remove any excess putty or sealant.

2. Complete the Installation
Insert the stopper assembly into the drain flange. Choose the long
or short ball lever.
Fit the short end of the ball lever into the drain lever hole and
under the stopper assembly for regular installations.
Fit the ball lever through the hole in the stopper assembly for
vandal-resistant installations.
Loosely secure in place with the knurled nut.
Remove and adjust the stopper assembly so the stopper lifts
about 3/8″(1 cm) when opened.
Tighten the knurled nut, making certain not to scratch the finish.
Install the ball to the ball lever for under-the-lavatory control
installations. Install the connecting link and V-clip to the ball
lever for countertop control installations.
Complete assembly of the countertop control installation
according to the instructions included with the lift rod and
escutcheon.
Apply thread sealant to the tailpiece.

Complete the Installation (cont.)
Thread the tailpiece to the drain body and tighten securely.
For new installations, install the lavatory according to the
instructions packed with the lavatory.
Install the trap.
Ensure that all connections are tight.
Turn on the main water supply and check for leaks. Repair as
needed.

Avant de commencer
Respecter tous les codes de plomberie et de bâtiment locaux.
Installer le drain avant d’installer la plomberie de l’appareil, si
possible.
Inspecter si la tuyauterie d’alimentation est endommagée.
Remplacer si nécessaire.
Vous pouvez installez ce drain sur un comptoir ou sous le
contrôle du lavabo. La tige de levage et l’applique nécessaires
pour le comptoir doivent être commandées séparément.

1. Installer le drain
Désassembler les composants du drain. Retirer le matériel de
protection.de l’arrêt et de la bride du drain.
Appliquer du mastic d’étanchéité ou un produit semblable sur le
dessous de la bride du drain selon les instructions du fabricant.
Insérer la bride du drain dans l’orifice de ce dernier.
Assembler le joint du drain (côté conique vers le haut) et la
rondelle en plastique large sur la bride et visser partiellement le
contre-écrou long ou court à la bride du drain.
REMARQUE : Utiliser le long contre-écrou pour mur fin
etcontre-écrou court pour mur épais. de lavabos.
Ne pas serrer les vis à ce moment.
Installer la petite rondelle en plastique et le corps du drain sur sa
bride, puis bien serrer. Ne pas utiliser de mastic pour filetage.
Tourner la bride du drain de façon à ce que le levier soit orienté
vers l’avant pour un contrôle sous le lavabo, ou vers la location
désiré pour un contrôle sur comptoir.

Installer le drain (cont.)
Serrer délicatement le contre-écrou, en s’assurant de ne pas rayer
la finition.
Retirer tout excédent de mastic de plombier ou de joint
d’étanchéité.
