Before You Begin
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product damage. Handle
with care. Vitreous china can break or chip if the product is
handled carelessly.
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Carefully inspect the new toilet for damage.
If the existing toilet does not have a supply shut-off valve below
the tank, install one before installing the new toilet.
Provide an adequate amount of clearance for the toilet’s lift rod.
Clearance values are measured from the floor to the top of the
fully extended rod.
•K-3360, K-3612, K-14224 and K-14230 require 28” (71.1cm) of
clearance.
•K-3357 requires 32-5/8” (82.9cm) of clearance.

1. Remove the Existing Toilet
Turn off the water supply.
Flush the toilet, then sponge out all remaining water from the
tank.
Disconnect the supply shut-off valve (if present), and remove the
old tank and bowl.
Remove the old wax seal from the floor with a putty knife.
Replace the old T-bolts with the new 5/16″diameter T-bolts.
CAUTION: Risk of hazardous gases. If the new toilet is not
installed immediately, temporarily stuff a rag in the closet flange.

2. Install the New Toilet
Install or relocate the supply and outlet as necessary to conform
to the roughing-in dimensions.
Install a supply shut-off valve.
Record the model number in the Homeowners Guide.
Lay the toilet down onto a padded surface.
From the bottom of the toilet, firmly press a new wax seal around
the toilet outlet.
Remove the temporary rag (if used) from the toilet flange hole.
Align and lower the toilet over the flange and T-bolts.
CAUTION: Risk of external leakage. Do not lift or rock the
bowl after placement. If you break the watertight seal, you must
install a new wax seal.
Apply your full body weight around the toilet to set the seal.
Place the plastic bolt cap bases over the T-bolts in the ″up″
position as marked.
Place the metal washers and nuts on the plastic bolt cap bases
and T-bolts.
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Overtightening may cause
breakage or chipping of vitreous china.

Install the New Toilet (cont.)
Carefully tighten the nuts.
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Protect the vitreous china
from exposure to the saw blade when cutting off excess T-bolt
length.
If the T-bolts extend more than 1/4″(6mm) over the top of the
nuts, cut off the excess.
Attach the bolt caps.

3. Install the Lift Rod
Insert the lift rod into the hole in the center of the tank cover.
Hold the lift rod while placing the large washer and nut onto the
other end of the lift rod.
Align the bent horizontal portion of the rod so the holes point
toward the front of the tank.
Hand tighten the nut until snug, then wrench tighten 1/4-turn.
Carefully set the cover onto the tank.
Carefully lift the front of the tank cover just enough to gain
access to the flapper chain and lift rod.
Insert the flapper chain S-hook into the middle hole in the lift
rod.

4. Connect the Supply and Make Adjustments
Connect the supply shut-off valve to the toilet supply shank.
Open the supply shut-off valve slowly to check for leaks. If the
connections have been properly assembled, a slight tightening of
the nuts should stop leakage.
Install the toilet seat according to the packed instructions.
Adjustments
Adjust the water level in the tank by squeezing and sliding the
C-clip on the float rod.
•To raise the water level, slide the C-clip up.
•To lower the water level, slide the C-clip down.
Test flush the toilet several times, while checking all connections
for leaks, to ensure proper operation.
If the flapper ball does not seat properly when the lift rod is
lowered, provide more flapper chain by:
•Relocating the flapper chain S-hook to the bottom hole in the lift
rod.
•Repositioning the flapper chain S-hook on the flapper chain.

Connect the Supply and Make Adjustments (cont.)
If the toilet does not flush when the lift rod is raised, remove
some of the slack in the flapper chain by:
•Relocating the flapper chain S-hook to the top hole in the lift rod.
•Repositioning the flapper chain S-hook on the flapper chain.
Periodically check for leaks for several days following the
installation.

Avant De Commencer
ATTENTION : Risque de blessures ou d’endommagement du
produit. Manipulez avec précaution. La Porcelaine de Chine peut
se casser ou se fendre si le produit est manipulé avec négligence.
Respectez tous les codes locaux de plomberie et de bâtiment.
Examinez soigneusement le nouveau W.C. pour déceler tout
dommage.
Si le W.C. existant ne comporte pas de robinet d’arrêt sur l’arrivée
d’eau située sous le réservoir, installez en un avant d’installer le
nouveau W.C.
Prévoyez un espace équivalant adéquat pour la tirette du W.C.
Prévoyez un dégagement de 28″(71,1 cm), du sol depuis la partie
supérieure de la tirette (totalement étirée).
