Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Shut off the water supply.
Seat post holes are on 140mm centers.
Ensure that the new drain has the correct roughing-in
dimension. This toilet has a 100mm roughing-in
dimension, the center of the actual wall outlet should be
controlled between 90mm and 105mm. .
Carefully inspect the new fixture for any sign of damage.

Vitreous china can break and chip if you overtighten
bolts and nuts.
. The fill valve
nut has been factory-tightened to design specifications.
If re-tightening is required, wrench tighten one turn
past finger tight .

CONFIRM THE SIZE AND
LOCATION OF THE WALL

The distance from the center of wall
outlet to the ground is 90-105mm.The
inner diameter of the wall outlet is
104mm, the wall pipe size must
comply with the national standard.

Drill holes on ground with the drill of 10mm (3/8"), then insert
anchor to holes.
For wooden floor, use the 4mm drill bit.
CAUTION: Please make sure there is no water pipe or spool
under the 4 holes to be drilled.

TO INSTALL SUPPLY
SHUT-OFF VALVE
Install the supply shut-off valve so it is
200mm above the finished floor line,
and 160mm to the centerline of wall
outlet.
The centerline of the supply shut-off
valve outlet should extend 67mm from
the finished wall. Install the supply
shut-off valve with the outlet vertical.

Position the template and align with drain hole or wall.
Mark down the position of foot and 4 holes.

TO REMOVE EXISTING TOILET
Turn off water supply. Flush the toilet, and use a sponge to
remove the remaining water from the tank and bowl.
Disconnect the supply shut-off valve (if present), and remove
the old tank and bowl.
NOTICE: Do not use white cement or high lime content
cements to install this toilet. The expansion of cement due to
a rise in temperature may make the toilet crack or cause
damage. Kohler is not responsible for any damage caused by
installation with the use of cement.

INSTALL THE TANK
(For K-29216T-NS)
Carefully turn the tank upside down
onto a protected surface. Fit the tank
gasket over the flush valve nut.
Carefully position the tank on the bowl
by centering the gasket on the bowl
inlet. Align the tank with the bolt hole
on the bowl.

INSTALL THE TANK
(For K-29216T-HC)
Carefully turn the tank upside down
onto a protected surface. Fit the rubber
gasket over the flush valve nut.
Carefully position the tank on the bowl
by centering the gasket on the bowl
inlet. Line up the tank and bowl bolt
holes.
The hook, which is outside the front of
the bowl , is for arranging the inlet pipe
and wire of the electronic seat.

Install P-trap and the L-shaped fitting from foot mounting kit. L

Secure the L-shaped fitting to the ground by 2 sets of bolts or
screws (not supplied).
Insert P-trap into the wall outlet, secure to the ground by 2
sets of bolts or screws (not supplied).
The sealing ring of P-trap outlet must be fully inserted
into the wall pipe.
The horizontal deviation between the center of P-trap
outlet and the center of wall outlet should not exceed
10mm to the left or right.
Ensure that the above requirements are complied
with to prevent water leakage.

CAUTION: Risk of product

the vitreous china.
Assemble the washers and nuts to the
tank bolts. Securely tighten the nuts so
the tank is level.
Be sure the nuts are tight enough to
achieve a watertight seal.

TO CONNECT WATER
SUPPLY
* Flexible hose (not provided) are
recommended to connect the supply
line to the fill valve. If you use a rigid
connection(not provided), take care
not to apply side forces to the bottom
of the fill valve. Be sure the rigid
connection must be fit with supply line
completely to prevent damage shank
by forced connection.

IMPORTANT:
Make certain the top is turned to the locked
position. Valve may not turn on if top is not fully in the
locked position.
Before turning on the supply valve for the first
time, follow the steps below to clear sand, debris and rust
from the system:
Make sure water supply is off. Remove valve END by
rotating it 1/8 turn counterclockwise.
While holding a container over the uncapped VALVE to
prevent splashing, turn water supply on and off a few times.
Leave water supply off.
Replace END by engaging lugs and rotating 1/8 turn
clockwise.
Turn on water supply. Check that water level is at the marked
water line.

TO INSTALL BOWL
Carefully align and lower the bowl. Apply weight to the bowl
rim to insert drain outlet into the P-trap.
When the bowl is completely set on the ground, check
whether there is interference or gap between the bowl or
water tank and the wall.
It is recommended that the bowl or tank is just in contact with
the wall.
If there is interference or gap between the bowl or tank and
the wall, lift up the bowl, re-adjust the distance between the
drain pipe and the wall, and then install the bowl.
For best result, make sure the bowl is level when installing.

Apply caulk around base.

Carefully thread the screws into the L-shaped fitting, until
toilet is secure. Alternately tighten left and right sides to
prevent pulling the toilet off center. Install cap to cover screw.
Do not overtighten.

OPEN
MINOR ADJUSTMENT OF WATER LEVEL
Move the snap along "OPEN" direction.
To lower water level: Move water cup down to a proper
height and rotate screw anticlockwise to achieve the desired
water level. (Refer to float adjustment instructions.)

FILL FLOAT WITH
BALLAST
Test flush the toilet.
Periodically check all connections for
leaks for several days following
installation.

INSTALL THE SEAT

Install the toilet seat according to the
seat manufacturer's installation
instructions.
The plug / power cord / water pipe of
the smart cover plate passes through
the large hole on the upper surface of
the toilet, .
The power cord and the water pipe are
then clamped into the hook on the
back of the toilet as shown in figure 16.
Connect the water pipe and power.

on/off by itself
without toilet being

allowing water to
enter tank.
A. No slack in flapper chain assembly, holding
flapper off seat.
B. Flush valve flapper ball worn, dirty or misaligned
with flush alve seat; or seat corroded so flapper
will not seal.
C. Refill tube pushed too far down in overflow pipe.
A. Float valve seal (located under float valve cap)
may be cracked or split.
B. Tank water level set above overflow level.
C. Water leaking past flush ball.
D. Trip lever binding, holding flush ball open.
A. Adjust flapper chain assembly for proper slack.
B. Inspect, clean and, if necessary, replace flapper
ball and/or seat.
C. Attach refill tube to overflow pipe above the
water line.
A. Replace seal.
B. During fill cycle, hold float under water a few
seconds to allow it to fill with water ballast.
C. Replace flush ball.
D. Turn trip lever nut clockwise to loosen until trip
lever no longer binds.

CONSUMER RESPONSIBILITIES
If you live in a hard water area, make certain that the holes in
the toilet rim are kept clean to ensure proper bowl flushing.
Toilet bowl cleaners should be used at least once a week.
Use a long-handled brush to clean the rim holes, and to clean
as far into the trap as possible to prevent mineral deposits
from forming.
Most toilet bowl cleaners are not harmful to the vitreous china
surface of the toilet bowl. Please follow the bowl cleaner
manufacturer's instructions carefully.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Do not use in-tank cleaners. Products containing
chlorine (calcium hypochlorite) can seriously damage
fittings in the tank. This damage can cause leakage
and property damage.
Kohler Company shall not be responsible or liable for any
damage to these tank fittings caused by the use of cleaners
containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite).

Please do not use hard materials (like
scouring pad) to clean product surface, especially the
product logo.
CAUTION:
CAUTION: Don t use any cement while installing
the toilet.
WARNING: Risk of product damage.
Heat expansion of the toilet may damage
the feet of the toilet. Kohler will not be responsible for
any damage because of using cement.
Do not throw into the toilet what is easy to block it,
such as newspaper, paper pilch, sanitary towel.
Do not bump the vitreous china with great force to
prevent it from damaging and leaking.
Do not use the product in the water below 0 C.
