2. About this manual
This document is an addition to the wallbox operating manual. It contains information on
how to configure wallbox using the configuration tool.
KOSTAL Solar Electric GmbH assumes no liability for damages arising from the non-ob-
servance of this manual.
This document applies to the following charging stations:

3. Target group
Electricians
As an electrician, you have a recognised electrical engineering qualification. On the basis of
this expertise, you are authorised to carry out the electrical work required in this manual.
The wallbox may only be installed, maintained and repaired by a trained and qualified
electrician.
The electrician is responsible for ensuring that the applicable standards and regulations
are observed and implemented. Work that could affect the electrical power system of the
relevant energy supply company at the site may only be carried out by electricians ex-
pressly authorised (licensed) by the energy supply company.
Requirements of an electrician:
■Knowledge of general and specific safety and accident prevention regulations.
■Knowledge of electrical regulations.
■Knowledge of national regulations.
■Ability to recognise risks and avoid possible hazards.
Qualification
Some activities in this manual require expertise in electrical engineering. If activities are car-
ried out by someone without the necessary knowledge and qualifications, serious accidents
and death may result.
■Only carry out activities for which you have been qualified and instructed.
■Observe the references to electricians in this manual.

4. Updating firmware
This work may only be carried out by an electrician.
The activities in this chapter may only be carried out by an electrician.
The basic settings can be configured using DIP switches on the charging station (see EN-
ECTOR operating manual). For advanced settings and to update the firmware, the configur-
ation tool is required.
When updating the firmware for the wallbox, there is an option to import the firmware onto
the wallbox. The wallbox software is then updated to the latest version.
To update the wallbox firmware, a CAN/USB cable, a terminal device (e.g. laptop) with Win-
dows 10 or a later operating system and the configuration tool are required.
The CAN/USB cable and configuration tool can be purchased from KOSTAL Service

4.1 Installing the configuration tool
1. Obtain the configuration tool from the service.
2. Save the setup file in a known folder.
3. Run the setup file. Create a desktop shortcut if required.

4.2 Operating the configuration tool
If the connected charging station is displayed in green under connection status and if no
charging process is active, the charging station can be configured.
1. Configure the charging station taking into account the conditions and customer re-
quirements.
The operating manual describes the settings required for the respective use case.
No settings can be configured in the Home and DIP switch menus.
After saving the changes, the charging station is automatically restarted.

4.3 Establishing a connection between the
wallbox and PC
The firmware can only be loaded when the wallbox is switched on.
Risk of death due to electrical shock and discharge!
Device is live. Only work with protective equipment.
1. Unscrew the housing cover.
2. Fold down the housing cover.
3. Plug the CAN/USB cable into the CAN interface in the wallbox and connect it to the
PC.

4.4 Installing the firmware
1. Download the latest firmware from the product download area and save it on the PC.
2. Launch the configuration software on the PC.
If no connection can be established between the charging station and the configuration
tool, you should check the following requirements:
■The charging station is switched on.
■The configuration cable is fully plugged into the terminal device and the charging
station.
■The configuration cable is not damaged.
3. In the configuration tool, navigate to the Firmware update menu.
4. Click on the Browse button and select the saved firmware file.
5. Click on the Start update button to start the firmware update.
➔The firmware update takes max. 3 minutes. The wallbox is then restarted.
6. Disconnect the PC from the wallbox.
7. Fold up the housing cover.
8. Screw the housing cover and the lower part of the housing together. Torque: 1.2 Nm.
✔The update has been completed.
