IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
Whenusingelectrical appliances,basicprecautions
shouldalwaysbe followed toreducethe riskoffire,
electricshock,and injurytopersons, includingthe
following:
1.Readall instructionsbeforeusingthisheater.
2.Thisapplianceishotwheninuse.Toavoid
burns, donotcomeincontact withheater. Keep
combustiblematerials,such as furniture,
pillows,bedding,papers,clothes,and curtains
at least 3feet(1m.) fromthe frontof theheater,
andkeepthemawayfromthesides andrear.
3.Extremecautionisnecessarywhen anyheater
isusedbyor nearchildrenorinvalidsand when-
ever theheaterisleftoperating and unattended.
4.Alwaysunplugheater whennot inuse.
5.Donotoperateanyheater withadamagedcord
orplugorafterthe heatermalfunctions,has
beendroppedordamagedinanymanner.
6.Anyrepairstothisapplianceshouldbecarried
outbyaqualifiedservice person.
7.Under nocircumstancesshouldthiselectricfire-

10.Donotrun cordundercarpeting.Donot cover
cordwiththrowrugs,runnersorsimilar
coverings.Arrange cordawayfromtrafficareas
andwhereit willnotbe tripped over.
11.Todisconnectheater,turncontrolstoOFF,then
removeplugfromoutlet.
12.Connecttoproperlygrounded outletsonly.
13.Whenthisappliance isinstalled,it must beelectri-
callygrounded inaccordancewithlocalcodes with
thecurrentCSA C22.1Canadianlocalcodesfor
USAinstallations. FollowlocalcodesandNational
ElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA NO.70andCanadian
Cord: C22.2NO.0.
14. Donotinsertorallowforeignobjectstoenterany
ventilation orexhaustopening as thismaycause
electricshock, fireordamage tothe heater.
15.Topreventapossiblefire,donot blockairintakes
orexhaustinanymanner. Donotuseon soft
surfaces,suchasabed,whereopenings may
becomeblocked.
16.Thisheatergetshotandit containsinternalparts
that sparks andarcs.Donot useitinareaswhere
gasoline,paint, orflammableliquids areusedor
stored.
17.Use thisheateronlyas describedinthismanual.
Otherusesnotrecommendedbythe manufac-
turer may causefire,electricshock, orinjury.
18.Avoidthe useofanextension cordbecause itmay
overheatand cause ariskoffire.Howeverifyou
must usean extensioncord, the cordshallbe No.

catedcircuit.Otherapplianceson the samecircuit may
cause the circuit breakertotriporthefuse toblowwhenthe
heaterison operation.Theunitcomes standardwitha6’
(1828mm)long three wirecordexiting fromtherearof the
fireplace.Plantheinstallation toavoidtheuse of anexten-
sioncord.Ifanextensioncordmustbeused,itmustbea
minimum14AWGthreewirewithgroundingtype plugcon-
nectorandratedno less than1900 Watts.Thecordshall
notbe morethan20feetinlength.

tuallyanywhereinyourhome.Howeverwhenchoosinga
location foryournewelectricfireplace,ensurethatthegen-
eralinstructionsarefollowed.For besteffectresults,install
theelectricfireplaceoutofdirectsunlight.
Thisfireplaceisazero-clearancedesign.Thefireplacecan
setflush (0mm,0inches)tocombustiblesonfloor, walland
top.

PREPARINGFORINSTALLATION
Beforebeginning assemblyoroperation,make sureallpartsarepresent. Comparepartswithpackagecontentslistand
diagram. Ifanypartsaremissingordamaged,do notattemptoassembleinstall oroperate,contactcustomersservice
forreplacementparts.

MAINTENANCEOFMOTORS
Themotorsusedon the fanandflamegenera-
torassemblyareprelubricatedforextended
bearinglifeand requireno furtherlubrication.
However, periodiccleaning/vacuumingof the
fan/heaterunitisrecommended.
WARNING:Makesurethatthe
poweristurnedoff before
proceeding.
GLASS INFORMATION
1.Donot usefireplaceif glassismissingorbroken.
2.Donot strikeorslamthe glass.
3.Donotuseabrasivecleanerstocleantheglass.
4.Replacementglass isavailablefromthe manu-
facturerand replacementshouldbecarried out
byaqualifiedservicetechnician.

SERVICEINSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:Disconnectpowerbefore
attemptinganymaintenanceor
cleaning toreducetheriskoffire,
electricalshock orpersonalinjury.
REPLACINGLIGHTBULBS
Thisfireplaceusesfourclear120 Volt, 60Watt,E-
12socketbaselightbulbs(smallbase,chandelier
candletype). The60Watt bulbsarelocatedunder
thelogset/emberbed.Forconvenience,ifoneof
the bulbsburnsout, itmaybeagood ideatore-
placeallofthe lightbulbs.
1.Turnoff powertotheunit byunpluggingthepowercord.
2.Letfireplacecoolifithas beenoperating.
3. ForEIR6124R:
Removeglasspanelbypullingupwardslightly,and then
pull out.
ForEIR8032R:
Open doors.
4.Remove thescrewsnearthefrontthatsecurethelog
set/emberbedinposition.
5.Removelog set/emberbedand grateassembly.
6.Examine the bulb(s)todeterminewhichbulbsneed
tobe replaced.
7.Whileholding thesocket,unscrewdefective bulb(s)
counterclockwise.
8.Installthe newlight bulb(s)byholding thesocketand
screwingclockwise.
9.Reinstall thelog set/emberbed,grateassemblyand
glass panelbyfollowing theaboveprocedures inre-
verse order.
WARNING:Donotexceed60 Watts
perbulb.Theuse ofhigherrated
bulbsmayresultinafirecausing
propertydamageand personal
injury.

ELECTRICAL WIRINGDIAGRAM
Anyelectricalrepairsorrewiringof thisunitshouldbecarried outbyalicensed electrician in
accordancewithnationalandlocalcodes.
WARNING:Ifrepairingorreplacing anyelectrical componentorwiring,
theoriginalwirerouting,colorcodingand securing locationmustbe
followed.

Beforeprogrammingyourtransmitteryoumust
firstinserttwo “AAA”batteries.
Makesurethe mainpoweron/off switch is “ON”
position.
1.TheON/OFFbutton:
*Note:When Fireplaceisfirstoperated,
thedefault settingwillbe:brightest
flame, and full heating Toturnon Heater,
press the “ON/OFF”button.Toturnoff
heater,press the “ON/OFF”button again.
2. Flame brightness setting:
Therearesixsettings forflame
brightness: “1”,“2”,“3”,“4”,“5”and “6
(OFF)”. Press button todecrease
theflamebrightness,and buttonto
increase the flamebrightness.
3. Heating level setting:
Therearefoursettingsforheatinglevel:
“HI”, “MID”, “LOW”, and “OFF”. Press
button todecrease theHeatinglevel
and button toincrease theHeating
level. If set on “HI”,thesetroomtem-
peraturewillbe approximately90°F;set
on “MID”, theset roomtemperaturewill
beapproximately80°F;set on “LOW”,
thesetroomtemperaturewill be
approximately70°F.
Press “ON/OFF”button toturnonoroff
thefireplace.
Press “HEATAdjust”buttontocontrol
heater.
Press “FLAME ”buttontocontrolthe
Flamebrightness.
