This manual contains all the necessary information for you to receive full efficiency from your

YOU KNOW HOW TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN YOUR MACHINE before reading this

Any use other than the designated operation is at the risk and responsibility of the operator.
Designated use of the machine also means :

GENERAL SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
Beforeoperatingthemachine,alwaysensurethattractorandmachineareinaccordancewithworksafetyandroad
trafficregulations.
BASICPRINCIPLES
1. Inadditiontotherecommendationsgiveninthismanual,legislationonworksafetyandaccidentpreventionmust
alsobe respected.
2. Adviceis indicated onthemachine, specifying safetyrecommendationsin order topreventaccidents.
3. Beforetravellingonpublicroads,theoperatormustensurethatthemachineconformstoroadtrafficregulations.
4. Before starting work, the operator must be familiar with all machine controls, handling devices and their
functions. Once at work, it is too late to do this !
5. Do not wear loose clothing which could become caught up in moving elements.
6. Useatractorequippedwithasafetycab.Keep windows and roof hatch closed forreducedsoundlevelwhile
operating the PTO drive implement.
7. Beforestarting upthemachineandbeginningwork,checkthesurroundingarea(bewareofchildren!).Make
sure there is sufficient visibility.
Keep all people and animals away from the danger zone of the machine (risk of projection !)
8. Carrying people or animals on the machine when working or in transport is strictly forbidden.
9. Machine must only be attached to tractor using means provided and in accordance with current safety
standards.
10. When attaching or removing the machine, place the parking stand into the corresponding position.
11. Special care should be taken when attaching or removing the machine from the tractor.
12. Before attaching the machine, ensure that the front tractor axle is sufficiently ballasted.
Ballast is to be placed on the supports provided in accordance with instructions of the tractor manufacturer.
13. Do not exceed the maximum axle load or the overall transport weight as prescribed by the tractor
manufacturer.

14. Donotexceedthe maximum transport widthauthorizedby road traffic regulations.
15. Beforetravellingonpublicroads,ensurethatalllegallyrequiredguardsandindicators(lights,reflectors...)are
inplaceandingoodoperation.
16. Alloperatingcontrols(cords,cables,rods...)mustbepositionedsothattheycannotbesetoffaccidently,risking
accidentordamage.
17. Before traveling on public roads, put the machine into its transport position as instructed in this operator’s
manual.
18. Never leave the tractor seat while the machine is operating.
19. Drive speed must be adapted to ground conditions as well as to roads and paths.
Always avoid abrupt changes of direction.
20. Precision steering, tractor adherence, road holding and efficient braking are influenced by the type of
implement, weight, ballast of front axle, ground or road conditions. It is therefore of utmost importance to
be cautious in every given situation.
21. Be particularly cautious when turning corners, paying attention to machine overhang, length, height and
weight.
22. Beforeoperatingthemachine, ensurethatallsafetyguardsarefirmly in place and in goodcondition.Ifworn
or damaged, replace immediately.
23. Before operating the machine, check the tightness of all nuts and bolts, particularly on fixing elements
(blades, tines, knives, spades ...)
24. Keep clear of the machine operating area.
25. WARNING ! Danger of crushing and shearing can exist when components are operated by hydraulic or
pneumatic controls.
26. Before leaving the tractor or before adjusting, maintaining or repairing the machine, turn off the engine,
remove the ignition key and wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop.
27. Do not stand between the tractor and the machine unless the hand brake is tight and/or stops have been
placed under the wheels.
28. Before any adjustments, maintenance or repairs are carried out, ensure that the machine cannot be started
up accidentally.

ATTACHMENT
1. When attaching or removing themachine from the tractor, makesurethatitcannotmoveaccidentally.(Put
wedgesunderthewheels).
2. Whenattachingthemachinetothetractorhydrauliclinkage,ensurethatdiameterofthelinkpinscorresponds
to the diameter of the ball joints.
3. WARNING ! Danger of crushing and shearing can exist in the lifting zone of the tractor hydraulic linkage !
4. Donotstandbetweenthetractorandthemachinewhenoperatingtheoutercontrolleveroftheliftmechanism.
5. Make sure that the weight applied to the tractor's draught arms does not go over the maximum weight
indicated by the manufacturer.
6. Make sure flexibility between tractor draught arms and machine drawbar is sufficient.
7. In transport, the tractor draught arms should be stabilized by the linkage to avoid stabilizer bars side to side
shifting.
8. Never operate or transport the machine on sloping or bumpy fields with a narrow wheel track tractor.
POWER TAKE-OFF
1. Use only the PTO shaft supplied with the machine or recommended by the manufacturer.
2. PTO guards must always be in place and in good condition.
3. Check for correct PTO overlap when at work and in transport.
4. Before attaching or removing the PTO shaft, disengage PTO shaft, turn off engine and remove ignition key.
5. IfaprimaryPTOshaftisequippedwithaslipclutchorafreewheel,thesemustbefittedonthemachinePTO.
6. Ensure that PTO shaft is always correctly fitted and locked into place.
7. Make sure guards are correctly in place and secured with the safety chains provided.
8. Before engaging PTO, ensure that PTO speed (rotational frequency) and direction are in accordance with
manufacturers recommendations.
9. Before engaging PTO, keep all people and animals clear from the machine.

10. NeverengagePTOshaftwhentractorengineisturnedoff.
11. NeversurpassthePTOanglerecommendedbythemanufacturer.
12. WARNING!RotatingelementscancontinueturningmomentarilyafterPTOisdisengaged.Keepclearuntilall
rotating elements are at a standstill.
13. Whenremovingthemachine,placePTOshaftonthesupportsprovided.
14. Fit the safety cap on tractor PTO.
15. ReplaceanywornordamagedPTOguardsimmediately.
HYDRAULICSYSTEM
1. Beware! Thehydrauliccircuitis under pressure (maximumworkingpressure: 200 bars/2900 psi).
2. When fitting hydraulic motors or cylinders, ensure that connections have been made correctly, as per
manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Before connecting hoses to the tractor hydraulics, ensure that tractor and machine circuits are not under
pressure.
4. It is strongly recommended that the operator marks the hydraulic connections between tractor and machine
to avoid making a wrong connection. WARNING ! Functions could be reversed (for example : lift/lower).
5. Regularly check the hydraulic hoses ! Replace the hydraulic hoses every 5 years. Damaged or worn hoses
must immediately be replaced .
Whenreplacingthehydraulichoses,makesuretousehoseswiththespecificationsandqualityrecommended
by the manufacturer of the machine.
6. Should a leak be found, take all necessary precautions to avoid accidents.
7. Any liquid under pressure (particularly oil from hydraulics) can penetrate the skin and cause severe injury. If
injured, see a doctor immediately, there could be danger of infection.
8. Before any adjustments, maintenance or repairs are carried out, lower the machine, depressurize the circuit,
turn off the engine and remove ignition key.
Rotation speed ... rpm (American Measure) is also expressed in metric measure : Rotational frequency ... min-1.
Both units are equivalent, for example : Rotation speed 540 rpm equals Rotational frequency 540 min-1.

TIRES
1. Beforeanyworkisperformedonthewheels,ensurethatthemachinerestsonthegroundandisperfectlystable
so that it cannot move accidentally (put wedges in place).
2. Assembly, disassembly and repair of wheels and tires must only be carried out by competent persons who
are equipped with standardized tools.
3. Check tire pressure regularly !
Respect manufacturer’s recommendations on tire pressure.
MAINTENANCE
1. Before checking for any machine malfunction and before adjusting, maintaining or repairing the machine,
disengage PTO, turn off engine and remove ignition key.
2. Check tightness of nuts and bolts regularly. Retighten if necessary.
3. If the machine is raised, prop it up in a stable position before carrying out any maintenance work.
4. When replacing a working part, wear protection gloves and only use standardized tools.
5. It is forbidden to discard any oil, grease or filters. These must be given to waste disposal organisations to
protect the environment.
6. Disconnect power source before any work is done to the electric system.
7. Check safety guards regularly, particularly those that are subject to wear. Replace immediately if damaged.
8. Spare parts used must be in accordance with specifications and standards as defined by the manufacturer.
Use only genuine KUHN parts !
9. Before any electric welding is carried out on tractor or attached machine, disconnect generator and battery
terminals.
10. Repairs on elements under pressure or tension (springs, accumulators etc...) must only be carried out by
competent persons with standardized equipment.
SPECIAL SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
1. When changing the machine over from the work to the transport position or vice versa, danger of crushing
and shearing can exist.
Be especially careful and keep all persons away from vicinity of the machine when maneuvering.
2. Maximum speed in kph allowed on roads 25 kph (15 mph).

Special features : - In transport position, the GA 9321 H/P guards are folded and 10 tine arms disconnected,
whichreducesconsiderablythe machineheight.
- TheGA 9321H/P rearwheelsaresteeredfromtheheadstockbymeansofasteering
linkage.
- The GA 9321 H/P is equipped with a self-contained hydraulic rotor drive. For this
reason,itishighlyrecommendedtocheckregularly(machinestopped)theoillevel
in the tank (it must be located between the mini and maxi marks) (see lubrication
chapter).

TRACTORADAPTATION
1) FITTING TO THE TRACTOR
The GA 9321 H/P can be fitted to all tractors with a standard three-point linkage Cat.2 or 3 and an engine rating
ranging 74kW(100hp).
The swivel hitch is equipped with two attachment yokes (1) to be connected to the tractor’s lower links(2)
(photo1).
Attachment should always be made inside the yokes (1). Two bushes (diameter 37mm/ 1 1/2") are supplied
with the machine for attachment to cat.3 tractors.
Always make sure the tractor lower links are immobilized using the means provided (check chains, etc…)
Using the tractor 3-point lift, position the attachment frame so that the tractor lower links are 750 mm (2’6")
abovegroundlevel(horizontalcarryingframe).
Connect:
- The hydraulic hoses (3) (check that the oil flow direction in the machine is respected).
- The7-pin(4)electriclightingsocket(photo2).
- The 3-pin (5) control box supply socket.
Depending on the machine braking system connect:
- thetwopneumatic hoses (8) (photo 3a)
- thehydraulicbrakinghose
When the machine is attached to the tractor, retract parking stand by pulling on handle (7) and pivot it (see
arrow)untillockautomaticallyengages(photo3).
A handle on the parking stand makes it easier to operate.

2) PTO TRANSMISSION SHAFT WITH CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINTS
Connect the PTO shaft to the 540 rpm (min-1)tractor drive (outer guard tube on the machine side).
Make sure PTO length is correct :
1) WhenthePTOisinitsmaximumextendedposition,aminimumtubeoverlapof300mm(12")mustbemaintained.
2) WhenthePTOisinitsmaximumoverlapposition(retracted),tubesmustnotbuttagainsttheyokes.Asasafety
measureaclearanceofatleast2cm (3/4") must be maintained (fig. 16).Ifthisisnotthecase,shortenthetwo
transmissiontubesandthetwoguardtubesbythesamelength(fig.12and13).Bevelandcleanthetubes(fig.14)
andgreasetheinsideof the outer tube (fig.15).
Theserecommendationsandadjustmentsmustberespectedtoavoiddamageorprematurewearof
thePTO.
Never connect the PTO to the 1000 rpm (min-1)tractor drive.
To avoid accidents which could be serious, make sure that the guards are always correctly
in place and secured with the safety chains provided . On the side of the machine, the chain
shouldbefixedonthehydraulichoseholder.Damagedguardsmustbereplacedimmediately.

WORK POSITION AND ADJUSTMENTS
Beforecarrying outanyoperationsuchasmaintenanceoradjustementon themachine,
stop the tractor engine, remove ignition key and wait for rotating parts to stop.
Makesurethereisnobodyinthemachineoperatingareabeforeloweringtherotorsintotheir
workposition.
To switch the GA 9321 H/P from the transport position to the work position, proceed as follows :
- Openhydrauliccylinderlockvalves
- Activatetractor’shydraulicvalve to lower therotors.Beware,therotors extend partly beforestartingto
movedownwards.
- Keep pressurizing the lift linkage cylinders until they are fully retracted (cylinder pin in the middle of the
rotorarmoblonghole).
- Once rotor arms are completely lowered, the machine is in working position.
- Removetine armsfrom their supportsand fit themon the rotors.
- Unlockfoldableguards(5)usinghandles(4)andlowertheminworkingposition(seearrows,photo5).
- Store handles (4) back in clips (6) (photo 5).
Wheel undercarriage height adjustment (photo 4) :
- switch the electric control box ON (1) (photo 4),
- activatehydraulicvalve,
- operate toggle switch on the electric control box (3: left or right rotor) until proper adjustment is obtained,
- releasetoggleswitch,
- releasehydraulicvalve,
- switch the electric control box OFF (1) (photo 4).
Note : If there is no response when pressing electric button, shift the tractor valve in the opposite
direction.
Working width adjustment (photo 4) :
- switch the electric control box ON (1) (photo 4),
- activatehydraulicvalve,
- operate toggle switch on the electric control box (2: + to increase, - to reduce) until proper width is
obtained,
- releasetoggleswitch,
- releasehydraulicvalve,
- switch the electric control box OFF (1) (photo 4).
Note : If there is no response when pressing electric button , shift the tractor valve in the opposite
direction.
To reduce the width, fully retract rotors then increase again width (in order to
extend rotors symmetrically).

Rotor height adjustment range modification
Shifting the rotors to place the machine in
straw position :
The straw position increases the raking height
by 40 mm. To make this adjustment, place the
machineonlevelground.
Before carrying out any operation
on the machine, stop the tractor
engine, remove ignition key and
wait for rotating parts to
stop.
Lower the rotor on the ground
Remove a few tine arms for easier access.
Removepin(1).
Raise rotor arm. (make sure the latter frees
itselffrom the undercarriagewithout getting
jammed).
Remove four screws (4), guard (5) (which is
made up of two parts).
Make sure there is nobody in
the rotor pivoting area before
raising rotor arms.
Removeundercarriagebyunscrewing4screws
M16 (8), then raise rotor arm.
Removespacer(7)locatedunderneaththe
undercarriage by unscrewing 2 screws M10 (6).
