then lower the rear wheels to remove the unit from the pallet.
LOWERING THE WHEELS TO RAISE THE UNIT FOR TOWING
1. With the brush in the down position, step to one side of the unit and pull the wheel arm detent pin
out until it clears the frame.
2. Rotate the wheel arm back and down to lower the wheel and raise the unit. Push the wheel arm pin
into the top hole in the side of the frame (tow position). Repeat this procedure on other side and

RAISING THE WHEELS TO LOWER THE UNIT FOR OPERATION
1. With the brush in the down position, step to one side of the unit, pull the wheel arm detent pin out
until it clears the frame.
2. Rotate the wheel arm forward and up to raise the wheels and lower the unit. Push the wheel arm
detent pin into lower hole in the side of the frame (grooming position). Repeat this procedure on
the other side.
OPERATION
1. Remove the hitch pin that is used to lock the tongue link and tongue to the tongue nose for towing.
2. Lower the tongue while rotating the tongue link back and down. Generally when you are grooming,
the tongue should be unlocked so that it can float. The tongue may also be locked in the down
position if desired. When the tongue is set to float, you may stow the hitch pin in the unused upper
hole at the rear of the tongue nose bar, until it is needed.
CUTTING DEPTHS AND HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS
The Dirt Medic has been designed so that the scraper blade and harrow spike bar may be adjusted
together or independently to allow for different surface and soil conditions. Adjusting the scraper blade
bar will also regulate the cutting depth of the harrow spike bar.
Additional weight may be added to the weight tray for deeper cutting in hard soil. Some
experimentation will be needed to achieve the correct results for your particular soil and application.
ADJUSTING THE HARROW SPIKE BAR AND THE SCRAPER BLADE BAR
1. Rotate the crank handle on the tongue to adjust the height and angle of the harrow spike and
scraper blade bar together.
2. If you wish to change the relative angle between the scraper blade and harrow spikes, adjust the link
between the two. (Pic 3)

3. If you wish to use the scraper blade, but not the harrow, remove the hitch pin that connects the
adjustable link to the harrow bar (rear/bottom hole). Rotate the harrow spikes up and the reconnect
the adjustable link to the harrow in the front/upper hole with the hitch pin.
4. The harrow spikes can be individually adjusted up or down, by loosening one nut on the U clamp
attaching each spike to the harrow bar.
5. The scraper blade bar is reversible for either scarifying or planning. To reverse the bar, remove the
bolts attaching the blade to the blade bar. Flip the blade over and re-attach to the blade bar.
AFTER USING
1. Raise the tongue while rotating the tongue link up and forward and then replace the hitch pin to
lock the tongue in the tow position. (Pic 4)
2. With the brush in the down position, step to one side of the unit and pull the wheel arm detent pin
out until it clears the frame.
3. Rotate the wheel arm back and down to lower the wheel and raise the unit. Push the wheel arm pin
into the top hole in the side of the frame (tow position). Repeat this procedure on other side and
then lift the brush up to the stowed position.
4. You may now safely tow the unit.
