Dear Lekker Customer, first of all
we would like to congratulate
you with your brand new bicycle!
It’s already a great day. But
before you ride out we want to
make sure your bike is in tip-top
condition, and you are aware how
to keep it like that. Very
important, to ensure endless
smiles each single ride.
In this manual we have compiled
for you lots of tips on how to use
your Lekker Bicycle, instructions
for maintenance and care, plus
obviously a walk through how to
execute the final assembly of
your ride. We advise to read this
manual thoroughly. You will find
it worth your while; even if you
have cycled all your life and feel
like a veteran with your new ride.
WELCOME TO
LEKKER
For your enjoyment and safety please complete the first part of this manual,
to ensure all is clear about general bicycle safety.
Chapter 2 shows you the correct thightening force in anticipation of the final
assembly of your bicycle. Chapter 3 takes you on a journey how proceed
with the final assembly of your bicycle. At last, Chapter 4 gives you a better
idea how to service and maintain your bicycle.

Note: We have to stress that this manual
won’t teach you the skills of a bicycle
mechanic. Even a manual as big as all
Harry Potters books together could not
describe every possible combination,
tricks and available components. For this
reason this manual only focuses on your
newly Lekker Bicycle, standard assembly
and drawing your attention to important
notes, warnings and maintenance.

CHAPTER 1
1. Congratulations! You are the proud owner of a brand new
Jordaan! When you receive your bike, the first thing to do is
check that it has arrived in perfect condition. Open the top of
the box, and visually inspect the bike.
2. Remove the bike from the box, be careful, as bikes are
can be heavy and awkward to remove from the box!
3. For the correct assembly of your bike you will need the
following tools; 8mm/10mm/15mm spanners,
3/4/5/6mm Allen keys, a small amount of lithium grease
and a pump.
4. Remove all the packaging cut the cable ties holding the
handlebars in place and proceed to step 5.Remove front
wheel and put aside.
5. Now is a good time to check over the bike to see if it has
sustained any damage in transit, If it has, then please
contact us via email or live chat.

6. Using a 6mm allen key, loosen the bolt located at the top of the stem,
then insert, once inserted, centre the handlebar and stem and tighten to
14Nm. To adjust the angle of the handlebar, loosen the allen bolts of the
front plate until you can move the handle bar freely, once you have
found your desired bar angle, tighten the bolts to 5Nm.
PLEASE NOTE: you may have to adjust the screen angle to access the
handle bar bolts, to do this using a 3mm allen key, loosen the two bolts
(one on each leg of the screen) and move out of the way, proceed to
adjust handlebar angle and relocated to original position, then tighten
the 3mm allen bolts to 2Nm.

7. Now it’s time to fit the front wheel, Using a 15mm spanner, loosen the
wheel nuts and slot the front wheel into the front fork of the bike.
8. Finger tighten the wheel nuts, then apply pressure to the handlebar to
centre the wheel, tighten wheel nuts using 15mm spanner
9. Using a 10mm spanner, remove the bolt holding the front brake, and
attach the front fender, when tightening the 10mm bolt, make sure the
brake caliper is centred.
10. Using the two 8mm bolts located at the bottom rear of the front
fork, attach the fender stays to the threaded eyelets and tighten the
bolts.

11. To adjust the front brakes you will need a 10mm spanner, firstly,
loosen the brake pads and located them so they are perpendicular to
the rim surface, and tighten the brake pad bolt.
12. Then move to the cable adjustment, again using the 10mm spanner
loosen the bolt holding the cable in place and adjust to the desired
tension, re-tighten bolt and pull the brake lever hard a few times to
check everything is securely tightened.
13. Re-do the previous stem if there is too much slack in the cable, or if
the cable is too tight.
14. For the rear brake, there is a barrel adjuster located at the front of the
roller brake, loosed the 10mm lock nut and tension the cable accordingly
with the barrel adjuster.
15. Re-tighten lock nut and pull the brake lever a few times to check
everything is correctly secured.

Assembly of Pedals
16. For the assembly of the pedals you will need a 15mm
open ended spanner,
ATTENTION: Please make sure to check the thread direction
before inserting the pedals, as fitting the pedal to the wrong
side can damage the crank arm which is not covered under
warranty!. Apply some grease or anti seize to the pedal
threads and tighten to 40-42Nm torque,
PLEASE NOTE; It is very important to tighten the pedals to
the correct torque, as by not doing so will lead to the pedals
loosening and damaging the crank arm thread, which is not
covered under warranty!

17. The Jordaan comes equipped with the Shimano Nexus
7sp hub, which is a breeze to adjust! Firstly, turn the gear
shifter to gear number 4.
18. Now go to the rear of the bike and look at the small
window on the rear hub, there will be two yellow lines, if the
top one is not lined up with the bottom line, then you will
need to either tighten or loosen the cable buy adjusting the
barrel adjuster located on the bottom of the shifter.

19. Turn the adjuster away from you to tighten, and towards
you to loosen the cable, we recommend only turning ¼ turn
then checking the alignment, and re-adjust if needed.
20. Shift down a gear, then back to 4th to check the two lines,
once they are lined up the gears will be correctly adjusted!

21.Now it’s time to adjust the angle of the brake levers and
gear shifter to your desired position. Using a 4mm Allen key,
loosen the two bolts on each of the brake levers to allow you
to move them, once in the correct position tighten the bolts
to the manufacturer’s torque recommendation.
PLEASE NOTE: you may have to adjust the gear shifter
position to allow you to move the right hand lever, to do this,
loosen the bolt with a 3mm allen key, then perform the same
steps as above, just remember to tighten the shifter back up!
22. Using a 6mm allen key, loosen the seat post bolt, turn the
top plate 90 degrees, attach the saddle, then turn the top
plate 90 degrees again and tighten the bolt.
23. Grease the seat post with a small amount of lithium based
grease, and insert into the frame, tighten the seat clamp on
the frame with a 5mm allen key.

24. Now check the saddle angle and re-adjust using a 6mm
allen key, make sure the saddle is level with the floor.
IMPORTANT: please make sure the seat post bolt is tightened
to 17N/m
25.Attach the bell to the LH side of the handle bar using a
phillips head screwdriver.
26. Pump the tyres to 55-65 PSI.g the barrel adjuster located
on the bottom of the shifter.

27. Your Jordaan has the option to come with a removable
front “Dutch style” Rack, this will need partial assembly, firstly
remove the rack from its packaging and check that all the
screws and bolts are supplied correctly.
28. Attach the back plate to the bottom plate using four 8mm
nuts and bolts (two either side) leave these a little loose, to
allow easier fitting.

29. Using two 8 or 10mm nuts and bolts, attach the whole rack
to the stem plate located under the stem, again, leave these a
little loose to begin with.
30. Attach the two legs, make sure that the light fixing is on the
LEFT hand side facing forward, this will require two 8mm nuts
and bolts, once attached you can then proceed to bolt the two
legs to the fork, using one 8mm bolt per side.

31. Now you can tighten all bolts to 8Nm,
PLEASE NOTE: you may need to apply a bit of force to centre
the rack correctly.
32. Attach the front light to the light fixing on the left hand leg
using the cross head screw and nut provided, and remove the
plastic battery tab.
33. For the rear rack, attach the two top stays to the mounting
points near the seat tube using an 8mm spanner.

34. Now attach the leg bolts to the mounting points on the
frame and tighten the 8mm bolts.
PLEASE NOTE: you may need to apply a bit of force to centre
the legs correctly before tightening.

35.Both the front and rear racks have mounting points for
lights, The rear rack mounting point is located at the very rear
of the rack, using the two 8mm bolts supplied with the lights,
mount them using the two mounting holes and tighten.
