• Placethechargingcylinderontotheelectronic
scaleandrecordtheweight.
• Turnontheairconditionerincoolingmode.
• Openthevalves(Lowside)onthechargeset
andchargethesystemwithliquidrefrigerant.
• Whentheelectronicscaledisplaystheproper
weight(refertothegaugeandthepressure
ofthelowside),disconnectthechargehose
fromthethree-wayvalve’sserviceport
immediatelyandturnofftheairconditioner
beforedisconnectingthehose.
• Mountthevalvestemcapsandtheservice
port.Usetorquewrenchtotightentheservice
portcaptoatorqueof18N.m(13.27ft·lbs).
• Besuretocheckforgasleaks.

5.4.1. Collecting Refrigerant into Outdoor Unit
• Conrmthatboththetwo-wayandthree-way
valvesaresettotheopenedposition
• Removethevalvestemcapsandconrmthat
thevalvestemsareintheopenedposition.
• Besuretouseahexagonalwrenchtooperate
thevalvestems.
• Connectthechargehosewiththepushpinof
handlelotothethree-wayvalvesgasservice
port.
• Airpurgingofthechargehose-Openthe
handleLovalveofthemanifoldvalveslightly
topurgeairfromthechargehoseforve
secondsandthencloseitquickly.
• Setthetwo-wayvalvetothecloseposition.
• Operatetheairconditioneratthecooling
cycleandstopitwhenthegaugeindicates
0.1MPa(14psi).
• Setthethree-wayvalvetotheclosed
positionimmediately
• Dothisquicklysothatthegaugeendsup
indicating0.3to0.5Mpa(43-72psi).
• Disconnectthechargeset,andtightenthe
two-wayandthree-wayvalve’sstemnuts.
• Useatorquewrenchtotightenthethree-way
valvesserviceportcaptoatorqueof18N.m.
• Besuretocheckforgasleakage.
5.4.2. Air Purging with Vacuum Pump
• Completelytightenthearenutsoftheindoor
andoutdoorunits,conrmthatboththe
two-wayandthree-wayvalvesaresettothe
closedposition.
• Connectthechargehosewiththepushpinof
handlelotothethree-wayvalvesgasservice
port.
• Connectthechargehoseofhandlehi
connectiontothevacuumpump.
• FullyopenthehandleLoofthemanifold
valve.
• Operatethevacuumpumptoevacuate.
• Makeevacuationfor30minutesandcheck
whetherthecompoundmeterindicates-
0.1Mpa(500microns).Ifthemeterdoes
notindicate-0.1Mpa(500microbars)after
pumping30minutes,itshouldbepumped20
minutesmore.Ifthepressurecan’tachieve
-0.1Mpa(500microbars)afterpumping50
minutes,pleasecheckiftherearesome
leakagepoints.
• FullyclosethehandleLovalveofthemanifold
valveandstoptheoperationofthevacuum
pump.Conrmthatthegaugeneedledoes
notmove(approximatelyveminutesafter
turningoffthevacuumpump).
• Turnthearenutofthethree-wayvalves
about45°counterclockwiseforsixorseven
secondsafterthegascomingout,thentighten
thearenutagain.Makesurethepressure
displayinthepressureindicatorisalittle
higherthantheatmospherepressure.Then
removethechargehosefromthethree-way
valve.
• Fullyopenthetwo-wayvalveandthree-way
valveandsecurelytightenthecapofthe
three-way
