This chapter contains information about where to go for additional information
about Lenovo®products, what to do if you experience a problem with your
system, and how to call for help and service.

The ThinkServer™Web site provides up-to-date information and services to
help you buy, upgrade, and maintain your server. You can also do the
following:
vAccess the Lenovo Limited Warranty
vAccess the online manuals for your products
vAccess the troubleshooting and support information for your server model
and other supported products
vDownload the latest device drivers and software updates for your server
model
vFind the service and support phone number for your country or region
vFind a Service Provider located near you
Documentation
The ThinkServer Documentation DVD is included with your server and provides
the following manuals:
Installation and User Guide
This manual contains safety information, setup instructions, hardware
and software requirements, part replacement instructions, and
configuration instructions.
Safety Information
This multilingual manual contains safety and Regulatory Emissions
notices.
If you experience a problem with your server, refer to the troubleshooting and
diagnostics information in the Installation and User Guide. In addition, you can
refer to the Hardware Maintenance Manual, which contains safety information,
features and specifications, software configuration information, part listings,
component replacement and repair procedures, and diagnostic information.

If you suspect a software problem, refer to the documentation, including
readme files and online help, that comes with the operating system or
application program.

This section contains information about calling for help and service.
Before you call
Before you call, do the following to try to solve the problem by yourself:
vCheck all cables to make sure that they are connected.
vCheck the power switches to make sure that the system and optional devices
are turned on.
vUse the troubleshooting information in your system documentation, which is
available on the ThinkServer Documentation DVD that comes with your
system.
vCheck for updated information, new device drivers, and hints and tips at the
following Lenovo Support Web site:
http://www.lenovo.com/support
vHave the following information available:
– Machine type and model
– Serial numbers of your Lenovo hardware products
– Description of the problem
– Exact wording of any error messages
– Hardware and software configuration information
Calling for service
During the warranty period, you can get help and information by telephone
through the Customer Support Center.
2Warranty and Support Information

The following services are available during the warranty period:
Problem determination
Trained personnel are available to assist you with determining a
hardware problem and deciding what action to take to fix the
problem.
Hardware repair
If the problem is caused by hardware under warranty, trained service
personnel are available to provide the applicable level of service.
Engineering Change management
There might be changes that are required after a product has been
sold. Lenovo will make selected Engineering Changes (ECs) that
apply to your hardware available.
The warranty does not cover the following:
vReplacement or use of parts not manufactured for or by Lenovo or
non-warranted Lenovo parts
vIdentification of software problem sources
vConfiguration of the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) as part of
an installation or upgrade
vChanges, modifications, or upgrades to devices drivers
vInstallation and maintenance of network operating systems (NOS)
vInstallation and maintenance of application programs
