INSTALLATION
ENGLISH
Unscrew and remove the plastic end cover, at the end of the
housing with the connectors. Attach your Hard Disk to the PCB
and fix it with the 4 screws supplied.
Slide the PCB back into the housing and screw the end cover
back into position.

Lösen Sie die beiden Schrauben auf der Seite der Kabelanschlüs-
se und ziehen Sie die Endkappe mit der Platine aus dem Gehäu-
se. Setzen Sie Ihre Festplatte vorsichtig auf den SATA Anschluss
und schrauben Sie sie mit den 4 beiliegenden Schrauben auf die
Platine. Schieben Sie die Platine mit Endkappe wieder vorsichtig
in das Gehäuse hinein und schrauben Sie die beiden Schrauben
wieder fest.

Dévissez et retirez la façade en plastique. Connectez votre disque
dur à la carte intégrée et fixez le à l’aide des 4 vis fournies.
Glissez avec précaution la carte intégrée dans le boîtier et refer-
mez la façade en la revissant.

Svitare e rimuovere il frontalino in plastica in fondo
all’alloggiamento. Collegare l’Hard Disk e fissarlo con le 4 viti
incluse nella fornitura.
Far scorrere l’Hard Disk nell’alloggiamento e riavvitare il frontalino
nella sua posizione originale.

OTB – One-Touch-Backup Information
ENGLISH
To use the One-Touch-Backup (OTB) function you have to install
the software from the included CD and then select the folders to
be backed up in advance! The OTB is then started by pressing the
push button on the enclosure.
Please Note: The OTB function does not work if the enclosure is
connected via eSATA!

Dieses Festplattengehäuse unterstützt die OTB Funktion. Der
One-Touch-BackUp wird durch Drücken des Knopfes am Gehäu-
se gestartet. Beachten Sie aber, dass Sie vorher die Software von
der beiliegenden CD installiert haben müssen und die zu sichern-
den Verzeichnisse ausgewählt haben müssen!
Die OTB Funktion steht nur bei Anschluss über die USB Schnitt-
stelle zur Verfügung!

Per utilizzare la funzione One-Touch-Backup (OTB) è nesessario
installare il software sul CD e selezionare in anticipo le cartelle da
salvare! La funzione OTB verrà quindi avviata premendo il tasto
sull’alloggiamento.
N.B.: la funzione OTB non funziona se l’alloggiamento è
connesso via eSATA!
OPERATION (ENGLISH)
Power Requirement
Modern 2.5” drives with low power requirements can normally be
powered by two of your computer’s root USB ports using the
supplied Dual USB Power cable.
If you want to connect this enclosure to non-powered USB ports or
a bus powered USB hub an optional regulated 5VDC power sup-
ply has to be connected to the DC input of the enclosure.
If you want to connect this enclosure by eSATA the supplied Dual
USB Power cable may provide enough power to the HDD, but it is
recommended that an optional regulated 5VDC power supply is
connected to the DC input of the enclosure.
Driver Installation
Modern operating systems such as Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000,
Mac OS X and Linux already include the necessary drivers.
Never disconnect the enclosure whilst data transfer is in
progress
HDD Partitioning
If you use a brand new hard drive it may not be formatted or have
no partition and so your operating system will not show a drive
letter. Use the partitioning program from your operating system
(FDISK or similar). In Windows, Right click on My Computer and
select Manage. Then click Disk Management. On the bottom
right side the new drive should now be shown without a drive
letter. Right click on the grey field to the left of the drive and select
Initialize Disk. Once completed you can right click on the new
drive, choose to format it and change drive letters according to
your requirements.

STROMVERSORGUNG
Moderne 2,5“ Festplatten können in der Regel über die zwei mit-
gelieferten direkt am Computer angeschlossenen USB Daten- und
USB-Strom-Kabel betrieben werden.
Wenn Sie das Gehäuse an einen USB Hub ohne eigenes Netzteil
anschließen wollen müssen Sie ein geregeltes 5VDC Netzteil an
der DC Buchse des Gehäuses anschließen.
Wenn Sie das Gehäuse über eSATA betreiben wollen reicht in
einigen Fällen die Stropmversorgung über das beiliegende USB-
Strom-Kabel aus, in den meisten Fällen werden Sie jedoch ein
geregeltes 5VDC Netzteil an der DC Buchse des Gehäuses an-
schließen.
TREIBERINSTALLATION
Moderne Betriebssysteme wie Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, OS X
und Linux haben bereits alle notwendigen Treiber an Board.
Partitionierung der Festplatte
Wenn Sie eine brandneue Festplatte anschließen ist diese höchst-
wahrscheinlich nicht partitioniert und Ihr Betriebssystem wird kein
Laufwerk anzeigen! Verwenden Sie das Partitionierungsprogramm
Ihres Betriebssystems. Unter Windows XP wählen Sie das Pro-
gramm Verwaltung nach Rechtsklick auf Arbeitsplatz. Wählen
Sie Datenträgerverwaltung. Unten rechts sollten Sie nun die
neue Platte angezeigt bekommen. Nach Rechtsklick in den grau-
en Bereich links neben der neuen Platte wählen Sie Initialisieren.
Im Anschluss können Sie nach Rechtsklick auf die Platte selbst
diese nach Ihren Bedürfnissen formatieren und Laufwerksbuch-
staben ändern.
Weitergehende Informationen hierzu finden Sie im Hilfesystem
Ihres Betriebssystem oder wenden Sie sich an einen erfahrenen
PC-Techniker.
UTILISATION (FRANCAIS)
PUISSANCE NECESSAIRE
Les disques durs 2.5” modernes à faible consommation, peuvent
être alimentés par 2 ports USB en utilisant le câble USB Dual
Power fournit. Il est également possible de l’alimenter par une
alimentation externe 5VDC, si nécessaire.
Si vous voulez utiliser le boîtier en eSATA, l’alimentation USB
suffit parfois pour un disque dur, mais dans la majorité des cas
une alimentation externe 5V DC est à connecter.
Installation du pilote
Les systèmes d’exploitation actuels comme Windows 7, Vista, XP,
2000, OS X et Linux incluent directement le pilote USB 2.0 et il
sera mis à jour automatiquement.
Installation du disque dur
Si vous installez un nouveau disque dur et qu’il n’est pas reconnu
par le système, il est nécessaire de le partitionner avant son
utilisation (FDISK ou autre).
Cliquer sur Démarrer, puis click droit sur “Poste de Travail”, choi-
sir l’option “Gérer”, ensuite cliquer sur “Gestions des Disques”.
Vous devez voir apparaître le nouveau disque sans attribution de
lettre. Faites un clic droit sur la zone grisée, pour formater, ou
changer la lettre du lecteur et les chemins d’accès

expérimenté.
UTILIZZO (ITALIANO)
Alimentazione richiesta.
I moderni Hard Disk da 2.5” vengono alimentati direttamente
tramite due porte USB del computer al quale è collegato utilizzan-
do il cavo USB Dual Power incluso nella fornitura.
Se collegate questo astuccio a porte USB non alimentate o ad un
hub USB senza alimentatore, occorre utilizzare un alimentatore
esterno opzionale regolabile da 5VDC.
Se collegate questo astuccio via eSATA, il cavo USB Dual Power
dovrebbe fornire sufficiente alimentaizone all’HDD, anche se è
consigliato l’uso di un alimentatore opzionale da 5VDC.
Installazione dei Driver
I sistemi operativi moderni come Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, Mac
OS X e Linux includono già tutto i driver necessari.
Non scollegare mai l’astuccio durante il trasferimento di dati
Partizionamento dell’HDD
Se state utilizzando un Hard Disk nuovo esso potrebbe non
essere formattato o partizionato e quindi non viene visto dal
sistema operativo. Utilizzate il programma di partizionamento del
vostro sistema operativo (FDISK o similare). Su Windows, cliccate
col tasto destro del mouse su Risorse del Computer e
selezionare Gestione. Quindi cliccate su Gestione Disco. In
questo campo dovreste poter vedere il disco in questione senza
alcuna lettera assegnata. Cliccare col tasto destro su questo
campo e selezionare Inizializza disco. Seguire la configurazione
guidata, formattare il disco e assegnare una lettera.
