OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
Preface The Operating Manual contains important information on how to operate the machine in a
safe, proper and economical manner. Compliance with it will help to avoid dangers, repair
costs and downtimes and increase the reliability and service life of the machine.
Eventually, the operating manual is to be supplemented by instructions on the basis of
existing national regulations on accident prevention and environmental protection.
The operating manual must be available at the location of the machine at all times.
The operating manual must be read and applied by every person who is commissioned
with work on the machine. This includes:
•Operation, including set-up, troubleshooting during the work process, elimination of
production waste, care, disposal of operating and auxiliary materials.
•maintenance, inspection, repair; and/or
•Transport.
In addition to the operating instructions, the accident prevention regulations applicable at
the place of use as well as the recognised rules for safety and technical work must be
observed.
Tools Required A tool in the form of a saw blade is required for operating the Masonry saw. These tools
can be purchased from the manufacturer.
Modifications and Reservations We have taken every effort to ensure that this operating manual is correct and up to date.
In order to maintain our technological lead, it may be necessary to make modifications to
the product and to its operation without notice. We accept no liability for faults, downtime
and resulting damage.
Target Group This Operating Manual is aimed at trained, skilled personnel in the fields of building
mechanics, concrete cutting technology, road construction, building construction and civil
engineering.

straight cuts and mitre cuts for angled cuts of brick, stone, granite, marble and natural stone slabs up
to 45°.

1.1. Principle of intended use
The manufacturer and supplier do not accept any liability for incorrect or non-intended use. Any
modification to the machine not carried out by the manufacturer is forbidden.
This machine has been built according to the state of the art and recognised safety regulations.
Nevertheless, improper use may result in danger to life and limb of the user or third parties or
impairment of the machine and other material assets.
The machine may only be operated when it is in technically perfect condition and in accordance with
its intended use, and in compliance with the instructions in these operating instructions. In particular,
always resolve faults which may impair safety, or have them resolved, immediately.
Intended Use The LISSMAC Masonry saw is intended exclusively for cutting building blocks made of mineral
material, using the wet cutting method. Cutting wood, plastic or metal is prohibited! Material
containing asbestos must not be processed.
The saw may only be operated by one person. Any other use or use beyond this is deemed non-
intended.
Proper use also includes compliance with the operating instructions and compliance with the
inspection and maintenance instructions.
Improper Use Foreseeable misuses / non-intended use:
•Cutting without or with the blade guard open
•Cutting without water
•Cutting wood, plastic or metal
•The use of serrated saw blades
•Structural changes that change the safety features or construction/design of the machine
1.2. Organisational Measures
The operating instructions must be available at the place of use.
Amendments to the operating instructions are generally applicable as well as legal regulations for
accident prevention and environmental protection must be observed.
This applies, for example, to the handling of hazardous substances or road traffic regulations.
The personnel assigned to work on the machine must have read and understood the Operating
Manual, and especially the chapter on Safety instructions, before beginning the work.
Regularly check the safety- and hazard-aware work of the personnel in compliance with the Operating
Manual.

Use personal protective equipment in accordance with the locally applicable regulations!
Observe all safety and danger notes and keep them in readable condition! Replace damaged or
illegible safety and danger notices immediately.
In the event of any safety-relevant changes to the machine or the way in which it is operating, shut
down the machine immediately and place appropriate signs on it. Report the fault to the relevant
department/person.
Only use approved genuine spare parts from the manufacturer.
Observe the inspection intervals specified in the operating instructions.
An annual inspection must be carried out by an expert. The machine must be cleaned thoroughly
before the inspection. In addition the mains plug must be pulled before any maintenance or repair
work is carried out.
For the implementation of maintenance measures, workshop equipment appropriate for the work is
absolutely necessary.
1.3. Choice of personnel and qualification; fundamental obligations
Operators must be at least 18 years of age and mentally and physically capable of operating the saw.
All persons must have been instructed in the operation of the saw and must be authorised in writing
by the contractor to operate the saw.
Establish the responsibilities of the personnel for operation, set-up, service and repair.
Ensure that only authorised personnel work on the machine.
The operator must wear personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, eye protection
and hearing protection which comply with the safety regulations.
Expel persons not working with the machine from the work area. Block access to the work area if
necessary.
Work on the electrical equipment on the machine may only be carried out by a qualified electrician or
by trained personnel under the management and supervision of a qualified electrician and in
compliance with the electronic regulations.
Personnel to be trained may only work on the machine under the constant supervision of an
experienced operator!

1.4. Safety information relating to the phases of use
1.4.1. Transport
Only use a suitable transport vehicle with an adequate load capacity.
Secure the load properly and reliably.
Disconnect the machine from the power supply even in the event of a minor change of location.
Transport may only take place in a secured transport position.
Lift and load only with lifting gear or 2 persons.
1.4.2. Commissioning
Only set up the machine on stable ground. All obstacles must be removed from the working area.
Provide good lighting for the work area
It is forbidden to connect the machine to the circuit without a residual current circuit breaker
(FI/RDC) in the supply line or in the distribution box.
Visual inspection of the entire Masonry saw for damage and defects.
Checking the protective devices, especially the residual current device.
Check the direction of rotation when fitting the saw blade.
Only use suitable and tested tools. No rotating tool, whose maximum speed is lower than the
rated speed of the machine, must be used.
Defective or broken tools must be replaced immediately.
1.4.3. Operation
Refrain from all methods of working which could pose a risk to safety.
Only use the saw when it is in a safe and functional condition.
If the work platform malfunctions, shut the saw down immediately and secure it. Have faults
rectified immediately. Electrical work may only be carried out by trained electrical personnel.
Never touch a rotating saw blade. Adjustment and maintenance work may only be carried out with
the saw blade stationary and the motor switched off.
Cutting without the blade guard is prohibited. The operator must be protected from rotating parts.
Do not tilt the saw blade when cutting.
The mains plug must not be pulled out under load.

1.4.4. Special work while using the machine
Unplug the saw before maintenance and repair work.
For safety and/or functional reasons, all openings must be covered and sealed before cleaning so
that no cleaning agents can enter through them. Electric motors, switches, and connectors are
particularly at risk. Remove the covers/adhesive tape completely after finishing the cleaning work.
Always re-tighten screw connections after maintenance and repair work.
If it is necessary to dismantle safety devices during maintenance or repair, they must be correctly
reinstalled and checked for function before being put back into operation.
If there is a risk of frost, remove the water pump from the tank (do not switch on pumps that have
already frozen - thaw slowly).
1.4.5. Moving the Masonry saw
Before leaving the operating position, the saw must be switched off.
Always unplug the saw before moving it.
Only move the Masonry saw with the saw table locked and the water tray locked.
We recommend emptying the water tray before moving the saw.
1.5. Note about particular risks
1.5.1. Electrical power
In case of faults, the saw must be switched off immediately. Electrical work may only be carried out
by certified and qualified technical personnel.
Regularly inspect and test the electrical equipment of the machinery. Defects, such as loose
connections or damaged cables, must be eliminated immediately.
1.5.2. Dust
With work in confined spaces, observe existing national regulations where applicable.
To prevent dust formation during cutting, the saw blade must be sprayed with water and cooled.
Dry cutting is prohibited.

1.5.3. Noise

1.6.
Packing and storage
In order to ensure sufficient protection during dispatch and transport, the machine and its
components were packed carefully. The machine should be checked for damage upon receipt. The
packing of the device consists of recyclable materials. Place them into the containers provided for
recycling so that they can be recycled.
If the machine is not put into operation immediately after unpacking, it must be stored in a dry and
clean environment.
1.7.
Environmental protection
Packaging material, cleaning agents, cutting sludge and used tools must be recycled or disposed
of in a controlled manner in accordance with the environmental protection regulations in force at
the place of use.
1.8.
Disposal
Render the worn out devices unusable once the period of use has expired, and especially when
there are malfunctions.
Electrical waste must not be dumped in general waste. Take the machine to a central collection
point.

WARNING
Danger of Hearing Damage
Wearing hearing protection is mandatory for sound power levels above 85 dB (A).
Wear your personal hearing protection.
The sound level generated by the machine was measured according to the specifications of the standards
DIN EN 12418 and EN 3744.

TRANSPORT
3.1. Transport position
The Masonry saw may only be transported in the transport position.
Lifting with a crane is not permitted.
Prerequisites •Power connection is disconnected
•Water tray is emptied and pump in holder
•Saw table is locked
•The water tray is locked
•Table feet are folded up and tightened
•Lever of the height adjustment of the saw head is firmly tightened
•Wheels are removed
The saw should only be lashed to the handle bars to avoid damage to the running rails and saw head.

COMMISSIONING
4.1. Connections and media
Electrical Connection A power source with the operating voltage indicated on the type plate must be available. We strongly
recommend fusing with a residual current device (FI / RCD).
Water Tray The water tray should only be filled with clean water To prevent dust formation and overheating during
cutting, the saw blade must always be lubricated with water and cooled.
Dry cuts are prohibited!
NOTICE
Freezing of the water pump
Remove the water pump from the water tray if there is a risk of freezing
Remove the water pump from the water tray
Drain the water pipes of the water pump
Slowly thaw frozen water pump and check for damage
4.2. Tool selection
WARNING
Danger due to tool breakage
Unsuitable tools can break and cause injuries.
No rotating tool, whose maximum speed is lower than the rated speed of the machine, must be used.
Defective or broken tools must be replaced immediately.
The use of untested or unapproved tools such as cutting discs or circular saw blades is prohibited.
Damaged tools must not be used!
All tools in the field of diamond tools are colour-coded. The tools differ, depending on the area and
scope of application. For the best results, the parameters must be correct.
Storing Tools The tools used must be protected from moisture. The segments installed around the saw blade must be
protected from damage.

4.3. Controls
#1 EMERGENCY STOP Button
Pos. 2 STOP BUTTON: (RED / 0)
To switch off the machine, press the stop button as far as it will go.
Pos. 3 START BUTTON (GREEN / I)
To switch on the machine, press the stop button as far as it will go.
Pos. 4 POWER SUPPLY (plug) with phase inverter:
Power connection of the machine.
Disable drive and unplug before any maintenance and adjustments.
ATTENTION: Do not pull the plug when the drive is active!
The plug has a phase inverter. By turning it 180°, the direction of rotation of the tool can be
adjusted if necessary.

4.4. Locking the saw table and water tray
CAUTION
Crush hazard
Crushing and cutting injuries due to uncontrolled movement of the saw table.
The saw table must be locked for assembly, dismantling and transport.
Locking •To lock the saw table, the locking lever must engage under the screw head.
•To lock the water tray, move the locking lever downwards.

4.5. Machine installation
CAUTION
Crush hazard
The machine is heavy. Crush hazard due to the legs folding in or the saw falling over.
Assembly requires a second person
The centre of gravity is not central
The Masonry saw must be stable and level on the ground when assembled.
Before using the saw, check that the toggles on the legs are screwed tight.
Workfow 1. Clear and keep free the safety area around the machine.
2. The working area must be well lit
3. Lift the Masonry saw by two people at one end.
4. Fold out the machine feet on one short side, engage and tighten with toggles.
5. Insert locking pins
6. Repeat on opposite side
7. Fill the tray with clean water
