Preface
This operating manual is designed to make it easy to familiarise yourself with the machine
and use it for its intended purpose.
The operating manual contains important information on how to operate the machine
safely, properly and economically. Compliance with it will help avoid dangers, repair costs
and downtimes and increase the reliability and service life of the machine.
The operating manual must be supplemented with instructions based on current national
regulations for accident prevention and environmental protection.
The operating manual must be available at the location of the machine at all times.
The operating manual must be read and used by everybody who undertakes work on the
machine, for example:
•Operation, including setting, troubleshooting whilst operating, removal of
production waste, care, disposal of media and consumables
•Maintenance (servicing, inspection and repair) and/or
•Transport
.
In addition to the operating manual and the binding regulations for accident prevention
which apply in the user's country and at the place of use, the acknowledged rules for safe
and correct working practice must also be observed.
Required tool
A tool in the form of a saw blade is needed to operate the masonry saw. These tools can
be purchased from the manufacturer.
Modifications and reservations
We have taken every effort to ensure that this operating manual is correct and up to date.

1.1. Principle of intended use
The manufacturer and supplier cannot accept any liability for incorrect or unintended use. The
machine must not be modified by anybody other than the manufacturer. Modifications in the form of
additions or conversions may only be completed with the written consent of the manufacturer.
The machine is designed and built to the state-of-the-art and the acknowledged safety regulations.
Nevertheless, its use may result in dangers of injury and death of the user or third parties or adverse
effects to the machine and other property.
The machine must only be used if it is in technically perfect condition and for its intended use, with an
awareness of safety and potential dangers and as set out in the operating manual. In particular, faults
which may adversely affect its safety must be rectified immediately.
Intended
use
The LISSMAC masonry saw is exclusively designed for the cutting of building blocks made of mineral
material, using the wet curve cutting. It is prohibited to cut wood or metal! The masonry saw can only
be operated by one person and the use is limited by the position according to the intended use on the
rear part of the stone saw. The cutting table must be removed for transport.
Any other use beyond this is considered improper use.
Intended use also includes compliance with the operating manual and compliance with the inspection
and maintenance manual.
Unintended use
Foreseeable incorrect / unintended use:
•Cutting without or with open blade guard
•Cutting without water
•Cutting wood, plastic or metal
•Design modifications which alter the machine's safety or design type.
•This masonry saw is only safe if it is used with LISSMAC saw blades.
1.2. Organisational action
This operating manual must be kept within easy reach for everybody at the place of use.
Supplements to the operating manual include general statutory and other binding regulations for
preventing accidents and protecting the environment and must be obeyed.
These duties may also relate, for example, to handling hazardous substances or wearing personal
protective equipment or road traffic regulations.
The personnel entrusted with the work must have read and understood the operating manual,
particularly the section entitled "Safety information" before starting work. It is too late to do so during
work. This particularly applies to personnel who only work on the machine occasionally, for example
setting and maintenance personnel.
Check at least occasionally that the procedures used by the personnel are safe and show an
awareness of the dangers and that they are following the instructions in the operating manual.

Use personal protective equipment where necessary or if required by regulations.
Obey all safety information and warnings and keep them in legible condition. Replace any damaged or
illegible safety information and warnings.
In the event of any safety-relevant changes to the machine or the way in which it is operating, shut
down the machine immediately and place appropriate signs on it. Report the fault to the relevant
department/person.
Do not carry out any modifications in the form of additions or conversions without the written consent
of the manufacturer. The instructions provided by the tool manufacturer must be given due
consideration.
Only use approved genuine spare parts from the manufacturer.
Keep to the mandatory intervals for inspections of those set out in the operating manual.
An annual inspection must be carried out by an expert. The machine must be cleaned thoroughly
before the inspection. In addition, the mains plug must be pulled before any maintenance or repair
work is carried out.
Workshop equipment to suit the type of work is absolutely essential for carrying out maintenance
work.
1.3. Personnel selection and qualifications; general duties
Only trained personnel over the age of 18 may be allowed to operate the machine independently. All
personnel must receive training in how to operate the machine.
Define the responsibilities of the personnel for operating, setting, servicing and maintenance work.
The operators must take care not to endanger themselves or other persons during any movements of
the machine.
Ensure that only authorised personnel work on the machine.
The operator must wear personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves and goggles
which comply with the safety regulations.
Do not stand around in the work area whilst it is operating unless necessary. Tell people not working
on the machine to leave the working area. Cordon off the working area if necessary.
Work on the electrical equipment on the machine may only be carried out by a qualified electrician or
by trained personnel under the management and supervision of a qualified electrician and in
compliance with the electronic regulations.
Only allow personnel being trained, instructed or those completing an apprenticeship to work on the
machine under the constant supervision of an experienced person.

1.4. Safety information during the various operating phases
1.4.1. Transport, assembly and installation
Transport, assembly and installation on with the masonry saw must be carried out in the transport
position only.
Transport should only be carried out t by means of a crane or more than 2 persons, taking into account
the maximum operating weight.
1.4.2. Commissioning
Commissioning must be carried out in the transport position only.
Check the direction of rotation when fitting the saw band.
Ensure that the surface on which the machine is installed has an adequate load-bearing capacity. All
obstacles must be removed from the working area and good lighting must be provided.
Conduct a visual inspection on the entire masonry saw for signs of damage and defects. Inspect the
safety equipment closely.
Only use suitable and tested tools. No rotating tool with a maximum rotational speed less than the
rated speed of the machine may be used. Any defective or torn tools must be replaced immediately.
1.4.3. Operation
Do not adopt any procedures which are not completely safe.
Take action to ensure that the masonry saw is only used if it is safe and in functional condition.
Check the machine at least once per shift for external signs of damage and defects. Report any
changes (including changes to the machine's operation) to the relevant department/person without
delay. If necessary, shut down the machine immediately and secure it to prevent it being switched on
again.
If the masonry saw malfunctions, shut it down immediately and secure it. Have all malfunctions
rectified immediately. Work on the electrical system may only be carried out by trained electricians.
Avoid all contact with the rotating tool.
Do not cut without using the blade guard. The operator must be protected from rotating parts.
Do not connect the machine to the power supply without a residual-current circuit-breaker (RCCB) in
the power cable.

Do not jam the saw blade when cutting.
The mains plug must not be pulled out of the power source under load.
Remove the water pump from the basin when there is a danger of frost (do not switch on frozen
pumps - thaw slowly).
Do not remove or open the blade guard or reach to the saw blade whilst it is cutting. This work
may only be carried out when the saw blade is at a standstill and the motor has been switched off.
1.4.4. Special work whilst using the machine
Keep to the setting, maintenance and inspection work and intervals specified in this operating
manual including the details for replacing parts/ part equipment. This work may only be carried out
by authorised trained personnel.
Notify the operating personnel before starting any special or maintenance work. Appoint a
supervisor.
When the masonry saw has been shut down for maintenance and repair work, it must be marked
to prevent it being switched on again unexpectedly.
Before cleaning, cover or tape up all openings which - for safety and functional reasons - must be
protected against detergent penetration. The electric motors, switches and plug connectors are
particularly at risk.
Remove the covers/masking tape completely after finishing the cleaning work.
Always re-tighten screw connections after maintenance and repair work.
If safety equipment has to be removed for setting, maintenance and repair work, the safety
equipment must be re-installed and tested immediately after completing the maintenance and
repair work.
Ensure that media, consumables and replaced parts are disposed of safely and in a green fashion.
1.4.5. Relocation of the masonry saw
The masonry saw can only be moved when the saw blade is at a standstill.
Before leaving the operating position, the electric motor must be switched off and the saw blade
must not rotate. There is a danger of injury due to rotating saw blade!

1.5. Information about special types of dangers
1.5.1. Dangers for the operator from the machine
Do not carry out any work on the masonry saw or move it whilst the saw blade is rotating.
The electric motor of the masonry saw can only be operated for the intended use of cutting.
1.5.2. Electrical energy
Only use genuine fuses with the specified amperage. The masonry saw must be switched off
immediately in the event of faults! Work on the electrical system may only be carried out by
approved, qualified and trained personnel.
The electrical equipment on a machine must be inspected and tested at regular intervals. Defects
such as loose connections and damage cables must be rectified immediately. The machine must
be marked to ensure that it will not be started by others.
1.5.3. Dust
Comply with any existing national regulations when working in constricted areas.
The saw blade must be lubricated with water, to prevent dust formation during cutting. Do not use
the dry cut, it damages the saw blade.

1.6. Transport
Only use a suitable transport vehicle with an adequate load capacity.
Secure the load properly in compliance with the regulations. Use suitable lashing points.
Disconnect the machine from the energy supply even if you only wish to move it slightly.
Reconnect the machine to the mains supply properly before restarting it.
Proceed as described in the operating manual to restart the machine.
1.7. Packaging and storage
To ensure adequate protection during shipment and transport, the machine and its components
have been carefully packed. On receipt of the machine you should check it for signs of damage.
The machine's packaging consists of recyclable materials. Please sort them into different
materials and place them in the appropriate containers so that they can be recycled.
Do not start the machine if it is damaged. Damaged cables and plug connectors also pose a safety
risk and must not be used. In this case notify the manufacturer immediately.
If the machine is not to be started straight away after being on impact, it must be protected from
moisture and dirt. Unused tools must be protected from moisture. The segments installed around
the saw blade must be protected from damage.
1.8. Environmental protection
Packaging material, cleaning products, used or residual media and unpacked wearing parts such
as drive belts or motor oil must be recycled in accordance with the environmental protection
regulations in force at the place of use.
1.9. Waste disposal
When the device reaches its end of life, particularly if it starts to malfunction, render it inoperable.
Dispose of the device in accordance with the environmental regulations that apply in your country.
Electrical waste must not be disposed with household waste. Deposit the end-of-life device at a
central collection point.

The workplace-related emission value refers to an eight-hour work shift and is reduced accordingly with a
low exposure duration.
The values were determined by the sound emission measurement.
The test was carried out without load, with the largest approved saw blade of the masonry saw.
Measurement tolerances:

4 dB for the A-weighted emission sound pressure level
The emission sound pressure was carried out taking into account the standards
of EN ISO 3744, EN 12418 and the Directive 2000/14 / EC.

3. COMMISSIONING
3.1. Connections and media
Electrical connection
A reliable power source with the operating voltage specified on the model plate and the appropriate fuse
must be used.
Water basin
The water basin may only be filled with clean water.
NOTICE
Freezing of the water pump during frost
Remove the water pump from the water basin when there is a danger of frost
Remove the water pump from the water basin and attach it to the suspension point of the water pipe.

3.2. Tool selection
NOTICE
Selection of the tool
No rotating tool with a maximum rotational speed less than the rated speed of the machine may be
used. Any defective or torn tools must be replaced immediately.
Do not use untested or not approved tools, e.g. cutting disks or circular saw blades. Defective tools
must not be used!
Selection of the saw
blade
All tools in the area of the diamond tools are colour-coded. Different tools are used depending on the
application purpose and area. The parameters must be right in order to achieve the very best results.

Storing tools
The tools used must be protected from moisture. The segments installed around the saw blade must be
protected from damage.

3.3. Setting up
WARNING
Risk of back injury
Raising the masonry saw alone can lead to back injuries.
The masonry saw has to be set up by two persons.
CAUTION
Danger from falling over of the masonry saw
The masonry saw can fall over if not set up correctly.
The masonry saw must stand firmly on the floor when it is in position and must not tip over.
Ensure secure positioning before starting the machine.
•Remove the transport safety device (Item 1)
•Loosen the eyebolt (Item 3) and lift the masonry saw by means of the handholds (Item 2)
•Fold the table leg (Item 4) in and out and tighten the eyebolt (Item 3) to secure it.

The cutting table must be removed for transport
The cutting table (Item 1) can be secured with the lock (Item 2).
