Getting Connected to the Mevo
Multicam App
Power on your cameras by pressing the power button on the back until
you hear 2 beeps in ascending pitch. For the first time connecting,
Bluetooth LE is used to detect cameras nearby and initiate the
connection process. There are two primary ways to connect and live
stream with Mevo Multicam:
Streaming with a Local Network / WiFi
This uses an existing WiFi network or router to connect the cameras to your phone,
and then to the internet. From the setup screen, tap the green “Connect” button next
to each camera and follow the on-screen prompts. If you encounter difficulty
connecting to multiple cameras, a TCP or UDP firewall port may be blocked. For more
information, consult this article at help.mevo.com.
Streaming via LTE
This establishes a single camera as a Mevo Access Point, which serves as a bridge
for the other cameras to your phone’s LTE (cellular data) connection. Initially, you
may need to disconnect your phone from any WiFi networks you do not wish to use,
initiate the connection process by tapping on the green “Connect” button, and then
follow the on-screen prompts.

Main Camera View
Mevo Multicam has two distinct user interfaces based on the device. For
smartphones, everything is presented in a vertical (portrait) orientation, with the
main functions of the app navigated on the lower row of buttons. For tablet users, a
landscape orientation offers a single screen with all of the major functions at a
glance
Switching Between Cameras
In the main view of the app, the Program, or what is outputting
to the live stream, is shown at the top. Below that is a gallery
view from all connected cameras. Cameras. Simply tap on each
thumbnail to switch to it, The active camera will be indicated by
a red border.
By default, the cameras “cut” or switch instantly. You can also add customized
transitions by tapping on the “...” button on the lower left and selecting “Transition
Type.” This includes: Crossfade, Slide, Edge Wipe, Box Wipe, and Dip to Color. Each of
these can be further customized with duration, direction (if applicable), and much
more. For more info, check out this help article.
Auto-Director: Intelligent, Hands-Free Live Switching
A powerful feature of Mevo Multicam is Auto-Director, which mixes and automatically
switches between connected cameras. To enable this, tap the “...” button on the
lower right-hand corner and select “Auto-Director.” For a full rundown of how to
configure and use Auto-Director, check out the help article linked here.

Individual Camera Settings
Each camera can be customized and adjusted by long-pressing on the thumbnail,
or the ‘…’ button. This menu contains:
Image Adjustments
While the automatic image adjustments are well suited for most applications, you
may need to dial in specific settings. To do this, select “image Adjustments,” where
you can adjust the visual color parameters like exposure, contrast, and color. For a
full rundown of each setting option, take a look at the help article linked here.
Mevo Settings
This makes device-level adjustments to the specific camera. In this menu are:
●Top Status: Shown are the connected network, battery percentage, and available space on the
microSD card.
●Camera Name: Changes the name that is associated with the camera. It can be useful to
rename it by angle, A/B/C, or 1/2/3.
●Format SD Card: This completely erases the microSD card and optimizes it for recording.
Warning, any files already on the microSD card are deleted permanently when formatting.
●Password: If you’re working in a crowded environment, you can define a password required to
connect to the camera.
●Action: Defines what a short-press of the power button does when the camera is on. By default,
it starts and stops recording.
●Speaker - System Sound: Enables or disables startup/shutdown and webcam mode tones.

external devices, such as an audio interface or small light.

power is detected via the USB-C cable, useful for static setups where the camera is out of reach.
Cannot be used in conjunction with Power External USB Devices.
●Auto Turn Off: When the camera is not recording or streaming, automatically shuts down after
15 minutes.

Crop & Zoom
Each camera offers powerful live editing capabilities that can cut to a closeup, zoom
in, or pan virtually without physically moving the camera. Once selected, the camera
will enter a full-screen view and four gestures control the camera:
●Tap to Cut to a closeup
●Swipe the closeup to pan and recompose the image
●Pinch to zoom in or out simulating a camera lens zoom
●Quick Action Long Press: Long press to bring up a menu that lets you cut,
slowly transition (turtle symbol) , or quickly transition (rabbit symbol)
between shots.
Remove
This removes and disconnects the camera from your setup. To add it back in, tap the
blue “+” icon in the lower-left corner.

Graphics
Mevo Multicam offers an integrated solution for creating static
graphics to help elevate the quality of a live stream. Tap the
blue “+” icon in the lower-left corner of the app and select the
Graphics option. Offers are:
●Full-Screen Overlay
●Lower Third
●Over The Shoulder
●Corner Bug
For examples, supported file formats, and more details on adding graphics, check
out the help article linked here.
Mixing Audio
With Mevo Multicam, each camera acts as an independent audio
input allowing for high-quality immersive audio. On Mevo Start,
audio can be input three ways:
1. Onboard: An array of 3 MEMS beamforming microphones
provides an immersive and clear audio experience.
2. 3.5MM TRS: Accommodates mic and line-level analog
sources such as an audio mixer.
3. USB-C: Supports driverless USB audio interfaces, such as an
audio interface, Blue Yeti microphone, or mixers with USB output.
For a full rundown of the features of the Audio Mixer, check out the
help article linked here.

App Menu Settings
Other advanced features, like transition type, camera input quality, and latency are
accessible with the “…” button at the bottom right. A full detailed listing of each menu
can be found in this help article.
Transition Type
Discussed previously under ‘Switching Between Cameras’
Auto-Director
Discussed previously above under ‘Auto-Director...’
Camera Input Quality
This adjusts the signal quality being transmitted from the camera to your device and
Mevo Multicam. Depending on the bandwidth of your network, it may be required to
adjust the quality for smooth operation.
Crop Settings
Defines the maximum magnification or zoom, default zoom level upon tap, and
actions when long-pressing in the Crop & Zoom menu of each camera.
Video Source Latency
Depending on the bandwidth availability of your network, and the type of content it
may be necessary to adjust latency or the amount of time between an action being
done, and it appearing in the app. Lower latency reduces this time, but consumes
more bandwidth.

Starting a Live Stream
Mevo Multicam streams to Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, or a custom RTMP
destination. After selecting the destination, tap Start Streaming and the Live button will
turn red, indicating that you are actively broadcasting. To end your broadcast simply tap
the Live button again.
Left: Streaming settings, currently only single-destination live streaming is
supported natively in-app. For multi-destination live streaming, consider third-party
distribution services with an RTMP ingest capability. Right: A live streaming with
three cameras connected. The duration and bitrate appear above the camera
gallery.

Recording with the Mevo Multicam App
The Mevo Multicam App is just as great for recording as it is for streaming. Files can
be saved in two ways: a copy of the live stream, completely edited, saved directly to
your phone or tablet and individual camera feeds, unedited, to a microSD card for
each camera.
Record to Device
This will save the final switched (edited)
video directly to the internal storage of the
phone or tablet that you're using to run the
Mevo Multicam App. To conserve space, you
can adjust the resolution or disable this
feature completely.
ISO Recording
ISO recording refers to the ability to create
isolated recordings of your cameras. ISO
recording means you can individually
record each Mevo which gives you a lot
more freedom in post-production. When
you enable "Record angle backups to all
Mevo SD cards" and press Start Recording,
each camera will begin recording its view to
the microSD slot on the camera.

Mevo Start 3-Pack
A natural complement to the Mevo Multicam App, the Mevo Start 3-Pack offers a
bundle of three live streaming cameras that brings multi-camera live streaming to
creators for under $1,000 (USD). Complete with three Mevo Start cameras, content
creators simply need to bring their smartphone or tablet to live stream with multiple
cameras.
Mevo Start 3-Pack is offered at €1149 on Mevo.com and most major retailers in the
United States, Canada and Europe. Pricing varies by country.
