• Positionthespeed-controlwhereisprotectedintheeventofacrashandgivesyoueasyaccesstotheconnec-
torsandbuttons.
• Mountthespeedousingthesuppliedthick/blackdoubled-sidedtape
• Makesurethereisenoughclearancebetweenthespeed-control,power-wires,antennaandreceiver.Avoid
anydirectcontactbetweenpowercomponents,thereceiverortheantennaasthiscancauseinterference.If
interferenceoccurs,positionthecomponentsatadifferentplaceinthemodel.
• Theaerialshouldberunverticallyupandawayfromthereceiver.Avoidcontactwithanypartsmadeofcarbon
fibreormetal.Iftheaerialistoolong,don’tcoiluptheexcesslength.Seealsotheinstructionssuppliedwith
yourradiocontrolsystem.
Receiver & Switch Connecting Wires:TheiX8 isequippedwithpluggableLRPMulticonreceiverwire+plug-
gableswitchwire.Assupplied,itwilleasilyfitinallordinaryreceivers.Makesureyouconnectthereceiverwire
withcorrectpolarityandusechannel2.
Sensor Connector:Thebi-directionalmultipolesensorwireconnectsthespeed-controlandthemotor.Alwaysuse
thesensorwireanddonotalterormodifythiscable!Therearereplaceable/optionalhallsensorwiresavailable.
Throughthissensorconnector,theiX8canalsobeupdatedwiththelatestsoftwareupdatesusingtheoptional
„USBBridge#81800“.Pleaserefertochapter„USBSoftwareUpdateability“fordetails
Power Wires: Formaximumconvienceandperformance,theflexiblesiliconepowerwiresareaplug-indesign
usinghigh-power4.0mmpowersockets&connectors.Therearereplacementpowerwiresavailable,pleaserefer

Heatsink: Toachievebestperfomanceevenunderextremeconditions,theheatsinkisanintegralpartofthedesign

Internal-Temp-Check System 3:allowsyoutoread-outthemaximuminternaltemperaturethatthespeedo

remainsstoreduntilyouturnitonthenexttimeregularly(whichwillresetthememory).Thisfeatureallowsyouto
accuratelycheckifallisrunningwellorifyou‘reclosetoshutdownalready.

Changing Mode Settings without the Transmitter:simplydisconnectthereceiverleadfromthereceiver
andchangetheMODEsettingsonthespeed-controlasdescribedunder„ModeProgramming“.
Works-Default-Settings: All LRPspeed-controls come factory-adjusted(defaultsare grey-shaded). If you
loosetrackofthemodes,youcanrestoretheworksdefaultsettingseasily.Withyourradioswitchedon,holdthe
SETbuttonpressedwhileyouswitchonthespeed-control.Thisreturnstheunittoourworksdefaultsettings.
Sensored Brushless Technology:AdvancedDigitalallowstheperfectknowledgeofthebrushlessmotor’s
magnetposition.ThisresultsinperfectmotorcontrolathighandlowRPM‘s,aswellasperfectbrakecontrol.
AutoCell System 2: ensuresthatallbatteriescanbeusedsafelyforallapplications,pleaseselectthecorrect
valueaccordingtoourtableunder„ModeProgramming“.Whenthebatteryvoltagereachestheselectedcut-off
voltage,themotorfunctionwillbedisabledandtheLED‘swillindicatethat the shutdown has occureddueto
undervoltageofyourbatteries(seechapter„MultiProtectionSystem3“forfurtherdetails).

Ourworlds-winningprofileshavebeenalteredforthespecialrequirementsof1:8cars,buggy‘sandtruggy‘snow!
Depending on the status of the car (star t, acceleration, full speed) the software calculates the per fect motor
managementbyadjustingcurrentlimiter,throttlecurveandmore!Highervaluemeansmoreoverallpowerand
aggressiveresponse.
Weintegratedanactivecurrentlimitertoachievebestcarcontrolwithoutsacrifisingtopspeed,soyouhavevery
goodcontrolduringaccelerationbutalwaysreachthemaximumspeedyourmotoriscapableof.Thehigherprofile
youselectthemorebottomendpower&torqueyouwillachieve.
Caution:correctgearingiscrucialforgoodperformanceandahealthytemperatureofmotor,speed-controland
batteries.Whenmakingchangestogearing,batteryvoltage,motorormode3settingsyouneedtomonitormotor
temperaturesduringthefirstminutesofrunningcarefully.
Abrushlessmotorshouldneverexceedatemperatureof100°C(210°F).
X-Brake: Agoodstartingpointforthebrakesettingonyourradiois80%forallclasses.Makesureyoudothe
radio-setupwithallsettingsontheradioon100%anddecreasethemto80%afteryouhavecomplededthesetup.!
Drive Selection (Brake-, Reverse-Function and Motor Rotation Direction):theiX8 includesfully
adjustabledriveselection.Therequirementsandpreferencesfor1:8buggyandtruggy-brushlesssetupscanbe
ratherdifferentandthereforeweallowmaximumflexibility!
Youcandisablereverse,ifyou planonusingforward/brakeonly asyou‘reused tofromyournitro vehicle.But
addtionalyyoucanalsodisablethespeed-controlsbrakefunctionincaseyoupreferusingyourstandardnitrocars
brakesystemwithabrakeservo,forthatoperationyouneedaseparete„Y-wire“whichallowsyoutoconnectboth
thespeed-controlandthebrakeservotothereceiverschannel2.
Alsothereisreversed/CWmotorrotationmodeavailableformodelswithreversedgearboxwhichnormallycan
notuseasensoredbrushlesssystem.
Toeliminateallotherpossibilitiesor improperhandling,firstcheckallothercomponentsinyour modelandthe
troubleshootingguidebeforeyousendinthisproductforrepair.Ifproductsaresentinforrepair,whichdooperate
perfectly,wehavetochargeaservicefeeaccordingtoourpricelist.

AllproductsfromLRPelectronicGmbH(hereinaftercalled“LRP”)aremanufacturedaccordingtothehighestqua-
litystandards.LRPguaranteesthisproducttobefreefromdefectsinmaterialsorworkmanshipfor90days(non-
europeancountrisonly)fromtheoriginaldateofpurchaseverifiedbysalesreceipt.Thislimitedwarrantydoesn’t
coverdefects,whicharearesultofmisuse,impropermaintenance,outsideinterferenceormechanicaldamage.

Withsendinginthisproduct,thecustomerhastoadviseLRPiftheproductshouldberepairedineithercase.If
