Congratulations on choosing a product from Mahr GmbH. We kindly request that you follow
these instructions in order to ensure the long term accuracy of this measuring instrument.
We operate a policy of continuous improvement and are constantly developing our products,
especially with regard to renaming of type designations. It is possible therefore that there may
be slight differences between the text and illustrations in this document and the measuring
instrument in your possession. We reserve the right to make changes to the design and scope

Introduction
Intended working conditions
The Millimar C 1200 is a Compact amplifier (compact electronic length measuring and
evaluating instrument) for use in a production environment. An inductive probe can be
connected to the C1200.
The operating, maintenance and repair information specified in these operating instructions
must be observed.
In order to achieve the best use of this measuring instrument it is very important that you first
read these operating instructions.
The scope of supply of this length measuring instrument includes:
- Measuring instrument
- Mains power supply unit with interchangeable adaptors
- Operating instructions

Forfeiture of warranty
Services that are caused to viruses that were introduced via a network connection or another
data carrier, are generally excluded from the warranty services.
Storage temperatures below –10 °C or above +50 °C and relative humidity levels above 85 %
will invalidate the warranty of this instrument.
Safety information
This measuring instrument complies with the relevant safety regulations. It was dispatched
from our production facility in a flawless condition and perfect working order. However, failure
to follow the instructions given below can cause personal injury or death.
1. Before you connect up and use this measuring instrument for the first time, please read
the accompanying documentation (operating instructions).
Follow the safety precautions detailed in the operating instructions.
2. Keep the documentation close to the measuring instrument ready for quick reference.
3. Follow all safety precautions, accident prevention regulations and internal company rules
and guidelines. If necessary you should request further information from your company
safety officer.
4. Before connecting up this measuring instrument, please check the local mains supply
voltage to ensure that it is within the working range of the AC adaptor (100 V - 240 V,
50 Hz - 60 Hz). If they do not match, this measuring instrument must not be connected
under any circumstances!
5. The instrument may only be connected to a protective earth (grounded) power socket
which complies with the respective vacover guidelines and regulations of the local power
supply company. This also applies to any extension cables that are used.
6. Only use the original and intact AC adaptors.
7. When connecting inductive probes make ensure that the plug is firmly screwed onto the
connection sockets.
8. When connecting pneumatic probes make sure that the compressed air is connected
properly.
9. Do not drop the measuring instrument. Always make sure that the measuring instrument
is securely positioned.
10. Do not operate the measuring instrument in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
Also do not expose the measuring instrument to direct sunlight!
11. Do not clean the membrane keypad with solvent-based cleaning agents.
12. Before opening the housing always disconnect the power supply.
13. The test and measuring equipment for which the Millimar is used are subject to
inspection equipment monitoring.
For this reason, regular inspection equipment monitoring performed by either the user or
Mahr Service must ensure compliance to the specified error limits.

The battery compartment is integrated
in the base
– Turn over the measuring instrument
through 180°
– Remove the locking screw 1
– To open the battery compartment
press in Tab 2and lift off the battery
compartment cover
– Correctly insert 5 batteries or
rechargeable batteries, type AA
Observe polarity of the batteries!
– Close the battery compartment cover
in the reverse order.
If connected to the mains power
supply, the measuring instrument
will automatically switch to AC mains
power supply!

2.8 Setting up the selected probe
– Press the ON / OFF key
=> The standard menu will appear on
the screen
In order to guarantee the maximum accuracy, the zero point of the probe should be set
from the mechanical to electrical zero before the first measurement is conducted. Use
the absolute mode setup to show the probe's raw value / the Absolute value.

In the Input menu it is not possible to
switch off this measuring instrument
by pressing the ON / OFF key.
– To switch off this measuring
instrument you must firstly exit the
Input menu.
