The
followingtypicalexamplewill
go
through
the
steps
to
have
the

RotisserieThermometer
alert
youto
when
a eye
roundroast
is
cooked
to
medium(USDAdonenesslevel)
and
remind
youto
rotate
hot
dogs
in5
minutes.
1.
Follow
the
registrationprocedure.
2.
Determine
ifthe
small
or
largethumbscrewcollar
fits
your
spit.
3.
With
the
thumbscrew
section
up
thread
the
probe
and
wire
through
the
collar.
4.
Slide
the
thumbscrew collar
and
probewireontospittowardhandlewiththumbscrewclosest
to
handle.
Be
sure
to
have
the
probewirealong
the
flat
of
area
ofthe
spit
soit
willslidesmoothly.
5.
Attachspit
forks
andputtheeye
round
onthe
center
ofthe
spit.
6.
Position
the
spit
on
grillwith
the
spit
end
slidingintomotor.
The
thumbscrewcollarshouldrest
onthe
grill
spit
support.Tighten
the
thumbscrew.
7.
Insertprobesensorinto
the
center
of
thickestportion
ofthe
roast.
8.
Position
the
probesensor
wire
so
theywill
not
comeintocontactwithflames
or
becomeentangled
by
clipping
itto
the
spitwith
twoofthe
probewireclips.
9.
Clamp
the
transmitteronto
theendofthe
handle.
Usethe
rubberstrips
inside
the
clamp
if
your
spit
handle
hasa
smallerdiameterthan
the
clampprovided.
10.Plug
the
probe
jack
into
the
transmitter.
11.
Makesure
the
transmitter,probe
wire
and
roast
spin
onthe
grillfreely
and
nothingbecomestangled.
12.
Press
MODE
onthe
receiver
soyouarein
USDA
preset
mode.
13.Press
MEATuntil
the
BEEFicon
is
displayed.
14.Press
TASTEuntil
theMED
iconappears
and
160.0
will
be
shown
asthe
TARGET
TEMP.
15.Press
MODEtwice
to
change
to
TIMERmode.
16.Press
MIN
5
times
tosetfor5
minutes
so
that
5'00"
is
displayed.
PressSTART/STOP
to
start
the
countdown.
Press
MODE
togo
back
to
thermometermode.
17.Turn
onthe
grill
to
mediumheat,turn
onthe
rotisseriemotor
andputthehot
dogs
onthe
grill
rack.
18.Clip
the
receiver
to
yourbelt
or
pocket
and
move
upto100ft
away
from
the
outdoorgrill.
Go
indoors
if
desired.
19.When
5
minutes
areupthe
receiverwillbeep
for20
seconds
andthe
DISHwithFORK
and
KNIFEiconwill
be
displayed
to
advise
youto
rotate
thehot
dogs.
Press START/STOPbutton
to
turn
offthe
alert..

When
the
temperature
of
probe
inthe
roastreachesMEDIUM
the
receiverwillbeepcontinuously
andthe
DISH
with
FORK
and
KNIFE
icon
will
be
displayed.

START/STOP
to
turn
offthe
alert.
22.Turn
off
grill.
Remove
the
spit
from
grill.
Remove
the
probe
sensor
from
the
roast.
Alwayswear
a
heat
resistant
glove
to
touch
the
stainlesssteelprobesensor
or
wireduring
or
justaftercooking.
Donot
touchwithbarehands.
23.Turn
off
transmitter
and
receiverunits.Disconnecttransmitterfromspithandle.
24.Clean
the
stainlesssteelprobe
anddry
thoroughly
after
each
and
everyuse.
HELPFULHINTS
There
isa Low
Batteryicon
inthe
upper
left
handcorner
oftheLCD
that
is
displayed
ifthe
batterypower
is
low.
The
unit
can
stilloperatenormally
but
it'isrecommended
to
replace
the
battery
as
soon
as
possible.
If
the
probemeasurestemperaturesabove
212
°F
(100
°C)the
temperaturedisplay
will
be
"—.-",
OVER
will
be
displayed
andthe
unitwillbeep
Do
not
immerse
the
probe
in
waterwhile
cleaning.
Do
not
allow
the
probe
or
probe
wire
to
come
into
contact
with
flames.
If
cooking
with
grill
cover
closed,
only
use
medium
orlow
heat.
If
youare
getting
faulty
temperaturereadingmost
ofthe
time
itis
problemwith
the
probe
or
probewire.
Return
the
defectiveprobe
to
addressbelowalongwithreturnaddress
andwe
willsend
younew
probe
no
charge.
If
the
temperaturedisplayedseems
to
read
too
high
orthe
temperatureseems
to
increase
too
quicklycheck
to
make
sure
the
probe
tipisnot
pokingthrough
the
food
to
outside.Reposition
the
probe
tipinthe
center
ofthe
thickestpart
of
food.Avoidtouchingbone
or
heavy
fat
areas.
