The collecting set needs to be sterilised for 30 minutes before use.
Please wash the sterilising container in hot soapy water and replace the
sterilising solution every 24 hours.
Assemble the collecting set and attach tubing to the pump.
Power the pump by connecting the socket in the back of the pump and the
power cord to a standard electrical outlet.
Sit comfortably.
Centre the breast shield over the nipple.
Switch on the pump by pressing the On/Off button. To enable the INITIATE
programme press the droplet (let down) button within 10 seconds of turning
pump on. The initiate program runs automatically with stimulation, expression
and pause phases. The pump switches off automatically after 15 minutes.
To enable the MAINTAIN programme press the On/Off button. The pump will
automatically switch to the expression phase after 2 minutes. If the milk starts to
flow sooner, press the let-down button to change to the expression phase.
Adjust the vacuum during pumping to your comfort level by turning the one-knob
control clockwise (increase) or counter clockwise (decrease).
For best results –set your maximum comfort vacuum, which is the highest
vacuum you can use and still feel comfortable (this is different for every mother).
To find your maximum comfort vacuum, increase vacuum until pumping feels
slightly uncomfortable then decrease slightly.
Once your milk starts to flow, press the let-down button to switch to the
expression phase. If you do not press this button, the pump will automatically
switch to the expression phase after 2 minutes.
Research has shown that you will pump more efficiently –meaning get more milk
in less time –when pumping at maximum comfort vacuum in the expression
phase.
Once finished pumping, switch off the pump, unplug and dissemble and wash
pump kit items and sterilise.
