Thank you for choosing Meliconi.
This simplified universal remote control is used for all the main functions of 2 appliances at the same
time, a TV and a VCR (or a DVD) of the brands listed at the back.
Insert the batteries and program your remote control before using it.
Keep your Instructions Booklet for future reference.
USING THE KEYS AND FUNCTIONS

FITTING THE BATTERIES
Your remote control requires 2 new AAA/LR03 alkaline batteries. Insert the batteries as shown:

Read these instructions carefully before programming your remote control!
To use the remote control with your appliances, you must first program Speedy 2 as described
below. You can also visit our Internet site www.meliconi.it to have access to interactive
instructions for easier and faster remote control programming.
•Batteries must be changed once a year.
•Change the batteries if the light indicator starts to flash during use;
batteries are low.
•When removing batteries, insert the new ones within 5 minutes or you
may have to reprogram your remote control.
•Make a note of the codes for your TV and VCR/DVD on the adhesive
label inside the battery compartment cover. This note will be handy if
you have to reprogram your remote control.

programmes from 0 to 9 using
the and keys.
If not, repeat the search
operation, starting from point 2.
Additional check
Check that all 7 TV and VCR or
DVD keys are operating correctly.
If the commands work incorrectly
or erratically, you have probably
entered a code for a similar but
different remote control.
In this case, repeat the search
procedure from point 2 until all
the keys respond correctly to the
commands sent.
PROGRAMMING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
1. Turn ON the appliance.
If a VCR, insert a cassette.
If a DVD, insert a DVD.
2. Hold down the following
keys simultaneously:
- and if you are
programming your TV,
- and if you are
programming your VCR or
DVD, until the light indicator at
the top starts to flash
indicating that the remote
control is in programming
mode.
3. Press key four times then
point the remote control at the
appliance.
Press and release the
following keys slowly several
times:
- if you are
programming your TV.
STOP when your TV goes OFF.
- if you are programming
a VCR or DVD.
STOP when the cassette or
DVD starts up.
4. At this point, press the
following keys simultaneously:
- and if you are
programming your TV,
- and if you are
programming your VCR or
DVD.
When you release the keys,
three flashes indicate that the
search operation has been
completed correctly.
5. TV ONLY:
if you do not have the
programme selection keys
on your original remote
control.
If your original remote control
does not have the programme
selection keys (e.g. / ,
+/-, CH+/-, etc) once you have
programmed Speedy 2, you
can still select the rogrammes
from 0 to 9, as follows:
•Hold down the and
keys imultaneously until the
light indicator at the top starts
to flash indicating that the

This operation may take up to about 20 minutes.

Identify and make note of the code for the appliance which you have searched for, following
the code noting procedure (see “PROGRAMMED CODE NOTING” section).
NOTE: DURING THE SEARCH OPERATION, THE LIGHT INDICATOR FLASHES MORE QUICKLY. THE
LIGHT INDICATOR STOPS FLASHING AND YOUR REMOTE CONTROL LEAVES PROGRAMMING MODE
IN THE FOLLOWING CASES:
•if no keys are pressed for 12 seconds
•if you press keys other than those indicated
•if the code search list is completed. In this case, visit www.meliconi.it
When you have programmed Meliconi Speedy 2, note down the TV and VCR or DVD codes on the
label in the battery compartment cover.
To find the code for your remote control, follow the procedure indicated below (once each for your TV and
your VCR or DVD):
1. Press the following keys simultaneously:
- and if you are programming your TV,
- and if you are programming your VCR or DVD,
until the light indicator at the top starts to flash indicating that the remote control is searching for the code.
2. Release the keys and, within 12 seconds, press and simultaneously.
3. Release and and pay attention to the flashing of the LED: a long flash corresponds to a +while a
short flash corresponds to a -.
4. Note the sequence of the 8 flashes and note them down on the label in the battery compartment cover,
from left to right, in the appropriate TV and VCR or DVD sections.

RE-PROGRAMMING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL BY ENTERING THE CODE NOTED DOWN
USING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
If the remote control is no longer programmed because it has been left without batteries for a long
time or has flat batteries, you can re-program it quickly as follows:
1. Hold down the following keys simultaneously:
- and if you are programming your TV,
- and if you are programming your VCR or DVD,
until the light indicator at the top starts to flash indicating that the remote control is programming.
2. Release the keys and, within 12 seconds, using the and keys, enter the eight-sign code which
you noted down before for your TV or VCR/DVD. At the end, three flashes indicate that the code has
been saved correctly. If not, try the code entry procedure again from point 1.

TROUBLESHOOTING

• read this booklet carefully – this will help you to solve almost all problems
• consult our Internet site www.meliconi.it to answer all your queries more easily and quickly.
SOLUTION
Check that the batteries are fitted correctly. If necessary, replace
them with 2 new 1.5 V AAA/LR03 alkaline batteries.
Check that the batteries are new and that the remote control is
pointing at the appliance without any obstacles in the way. If
required, reset the remote control code by repeating the
programming procedure.
The batteries are low. Remplace them.
You may have used the wrong code. Reset the remote control
code, following the programming procedure.
The original remote control may not have had this function. In
this case, set the code (press 8 times) as described in the
PROGRAMMING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL section above.
PROBLEM
The appliance you want to use does not
respond and the light indicator does not
come ON when you press a key.
The TV or VCR/DVD does not respond
but the light indicator does light up.
The TV or VCR/DVD does not respond
and the light indicator flashes.
Not all remote control commands are
working correcting.
The and keys do not select the

Once you have programmed Speedy 2, you can turn ON your TV in three ways:
•Press or .
•Press .
•Press and simultaneously: this sends the code for programme 1.
To return to programme 1 directly, press and simultaneously.
Also note that when using your remote control with a DVD, key opens the DVD drive.
