When the system resistivity display is blinking (Direct-Q, RiOs-DI, Synergy,
Simplicity and ICW-3000 only). The Product resistivity is below the resistivity
seipoini set in menu option C02. The system may have been in STANDBY
mode for awhile. Start a manual recirculation to recirculate the water in the
system (Direct-Q, Synergy, Simplicity and ICW-3000 only). If the Pack alarm
icon is still displayed, then r^lace the Pack.

Removing the
ol d P a c k ATTENTION! ( D i r e c t -Q, RiOs-D I a n d R i O s o nly).
Open the tank outlet valve before replacing and installing a new Pack. This
keeps the lank from filling until the Pack is rinsed out.
HAZARD! (UVsystems only).
Do not touch the UV lamp when replacing the Pack.
Follow the steps below to remove the used Pack.

ports of the Pack.
• Locate the o-rings on the ports. Wet
them with water. It is preferable to
wet them with ultrapure water.

Flush Mode
and Rinsing of
the Pack
Direct-Q, RiOs-DI and RiOs only
• After installing the Pack, the system goes in Flush Mode for 15 minutes. This
is done to empty the Pack of air and hydrate the material inside.
• When Flush Mode is finished, the system goes in Filling Tank Mode
automatically.
• Let Filling Tank Mode run for 15 minutes with the Tank Outlet Valve open.
This rinses the purification media inside the Pack.
NOTE: for sensitive applications, it is recommended to leave the system in
Filling Tank overnight to ensure complete rinsing of the RO membrane.
• Close the Tank Outlet Valve. The tank starts to fill up with water. It could take
approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to fill the tank. When it is full, the display shows
the Tank level filled to the 100% level.
Direct-Q, Synergy and Simplicity only
NOTE: when a new Pack has been installed, the red pack alarm may be blinking
prematurely. This is normal. The alarm message should disappear once the air
purge of the Pack has been completed.

Purging air
from the system Direci'Q, ICW-SOOO, Synergy and
Simplicity only
• Air trapped in the Pack should now be
purged from the system. Locale and
install the barbed fitting and the clear
tubing from the Accessories bag.
• Press on the button to put the system
in Dispensing Mode (picture shows
Dispensing Mode on Direct-Q and
Synergy).
• Dispense about 3-4 litres of water.
NOTE: for Simplicity and ICW-300(), ensure that the tank is filled with
pretreated water so that about 2 litres of water can be dispensed.
• At this time the Final Filter is not installed. Leave the system overnight or for
several hours in Filling Tank Mode (Direct-Q) or Pre-Operate Mode (ICW-
3000, Synergy and Simplicity). The system recirculates water regularly and
rinse off purification media inside the Pack. Do not leave the system in
Standby Mode.
• The next morning, put the system in Dispensing Mode and dispense some
water.
• Allow about 1 litre of water to be dispensed from the system.
• Stop the dispensing water by pressing the button again.
• Remove the clear tubing and the barbed fitting.
• The Final Filter now needs to be installed. Refer to the User Manual.
