➢Always follow the instructions of your healthcare provider and execute a plan that is most suitable for the
user’s abilities.
➢When pushing the Freedom Gold D20 electric
wheelchair, you must disengage the electromagnetic
brake switch found on the motor. (photo 1)
➢The chair will not move manually when the brake is
engaged and the power is off.
➢When pushing the wheelchair manually, please
only push from the push handle on the back of the
wheelchair.
➢To prevent injuring to the user’s back, ensure they are seated correctly and upright in the wheelchair.
➢When you lift or support the user from the electric wheelchair, bend your knees and keep your back
straight and lift with your legs.
➢Before each movement, make sure the rider is aware of your intent to move them so as to reduce the risk
of accidental Injury to the rider and caregiver.
➢Avoid tilting the chair to the side or to the front or back as this can cause injury to the rider.
➢Health nursing staff should be trained and have obtained a professional guidance for assisting others.
➢Before you use the Freedom Gold D20 electric wheelchair, please make sure you have knowledge of how
to operate the device safely.
➢It is best to practice the operations such as: turning, navigating obstacles, and braking before use in
public. Continue practicing until you are independent and skilled at performing these operations.
➢Please do not try new maneuvers you are not able to safely perform.
➢Know the area where you are going, and check whether any danger exist that should be avoided.
