Please read this owner’s manual before attempting to operate your Miracle Mobility Freedom Platinum 8000
Folding Electric Wheelchair. The safety and operating instructions will help you to understand the
performance and limitations of your new Miracle Mobility Platinum 8000 Folding Electric Wheelchair.

Lets Begin
1. Begin by taking out the wheelchair and spare parts from
the shipping carton and stand the chair upright.
(see Image 1)
2. Install the joystick controller on the armrest.
The joystick can be installed on the left or right hand.
(see Image 2)
3. You need to unfold the wheelchair.
(see Image 3 & 4)

Unfolding
4. Grasp one hand on the back push handle tube and the other hand on the foot rest and
separate frame (see Image 5) (note the armrests should be locked and the wheels should be in
electric mode)
Note: Always make sure the power is
off while folding and unfolding

Note: Make sure you secure
the safety clamp and lock it in
place. Failure to do this could
result in the chair collapsing on
you causing serious injury.
5. Grasp the back push handle with one hand and lock the safety clamp on the back of
the chair. (see image 6 & 7)

Folding
6. Unlatch the safety clamp in the back of the chair by
flipping up the safety clamp. (see image 8 & 9)

7. After you have unlocked the safety clamp. Grasp one hand on the back push
handle tube and the other hand on the foot rest and pull the frame together while
slightly lifting the front of the chair. (see Image 10) (note the armrests should be locked
and the wheels should be in electric mode)
Note: Always make sure the power is off while folding and unfolding

Pulling
8. Switch the back red break levers to manual mode and you can pull the wheelchair
using the seat cross bar or leg rest bar. (see image 11 & 12)
Note: Make sure both red levers on
the back of the wheels are in manual
mode. To allow the wheels to turn
while pulling or pushing.

9. Notice the lever on the outside of each armrest (see image 13)
10. This lever is in the locked position when it is pointing up
11. You will not be able to lift the armrest when the armrest lever is in the locked position
12. Turn the lever down to release the armrest and then pull the armrest up (see image 14)
Note: We recommend that you lift the armrests to sit on the chair from a 45 degree angel then
turn your body to face forward. Once you are in the chair return the armrest to it’s natural
position and lock it in place.

Joystick Controller

The Joystick is designed to
provide all the information you
need to safely operate your
wheelchair. (see image 15)
The joystick is designed to
operate with a zero turn radius
(within it’s own footprint) and
will detect micromovement of
the joystick.
To stop the Wheelchair simply
let go of the joystick and the
chair will come to a controlled
stop.
Practice moving the joystick to
move forward and in reverse.
Also practice making left turns
and right turns.
It takes about a week to get use
to the joystick operation to
become proficient.

✓Practice operation in a safe and controlled environment to learn the operation of your
controller along with the speed and the maneuverability of the wheelchair.
✓When turning, reduce your speed, which will help you avoid any potential tilting or
tipping of the wheelchair and adjust the speed depending on your environment.
✓To stop, simply let go of the joystick and it will naturallyreturn to the neutral positionand bring the
chair to a comfortable stope.

Charging the Battery
13. Make sure the Battery is installed correctly on the
battery rail under the seat and secure the battery
connection. (see Image 17 & 19)
14. Charge your battery for 4-6 hours by connecting the
charger to the joystick as shown. (see Image 18)

Charging The Batteries

15. The Charger is an important part of your wheelchair and provides energy to your wheelchair through a
safe, fast, and easy charger.
16. The wheelchair is a maintenance free design however we recommend you check the following:
a) Keep the charger and joystick away from moisture and check the battery connections to ensure
they are not corroded
b) Do not wash your wheelchair bet wipe it down with a clean damp cloth
c) Storage should be in a clean room with less than 80% humidity and at temperatures between 40
degrees to 100 degrees

17. Pull out the Power Plug From the back of the chair.
18. Hold down the locking lever on the bottom of the
battery to disengage the battery clamp from the frame.
(see image 21 & 22)
19. Slide the battery out towards you.
Important Notes
✓Turn off the wheelchair prior to exiting the chair.
✓Please practice driving the wheelchair in a private and
controlled environment and in a smooth controlled
manner.
✓Please be aware of local laws regarding operating the
wheelchair on public roads.
✓It is recommended to use sidewalks at all times.
✓Always keep the feet on the footrests while driving

20. The electric wheelchair uses a 24V lithium Ion Battery. Your wheelchair will arrive with partially charged
batteries. The batteries should allow you to drive for a distance of about 15 miles under normal operation
conditions.
21. Turn the power off and plug in the charger to the controller port (see image 23).
22. Allow your wheelchair to charge for 4-6 hours or until the light on the charger turns green
23. We recommend you continue to charge the wheelchair about 1 hour after the light turns green to fully charge
the battery.
24. The light on the charger should turn on after plugging in the charger to the wall socket. (see image 24)

Turn the Joystick power off while charging.
Do not leave children unsupervised near the wheelchair while it is charging.
Do not attempt to open the battery unit.
Red means the power is on and the unit is charging.
Green means the unit is fully charged.
25. When the battery is full charged, remove the cable, remove the DC charging connector
from the AC input power socket.
26. The average time taken to re-charge workable batteries will vary from 4 to 6 hours
depending on the level of usage
26. Do not charge more than 8 hours.
27. If you do not operate the Wheelchair for two months, we recommend that you charge the
battery for 6-8 hours before use.
