After installation work has been completed, explain the “Safety Precautions,” use,
and maintenance of the unit to the customer according to the information in the
Operation Manual and perform the test run to ensure normal operation. Both the
Installation Manual and Operation Manual must be given to the user for keeping.
These manuals must be passed on to subsequent users.

WARNING
(Risk of re)
This mark is for R32 refrigerant only. Refrigerant type is written on nameplate of outdoor unit.
In case that refrigerant type is R32, this unit uses a ammable refrigerant.
If refrigerant leaks and comes in contact with re or heating part, it will create harmful gas and there is risk of re.
Read the OPERATION MANUAL carefully before operation.
Service personnel are required to carefully read the OPERATION MANUAL and INSTALLATION MANUAL before operation.
Further information is available in the OPERATION MANUAL, INSTALLATION MANUAL, and the like.
Warning:
• Carefullyreadthelabelsafxedtothemainunit.
• Askadealeroranauthorizedtechniciantoinstall,relocateandrepairthe
unit.
• Theusershouldneverattempttorepairtheunitortransferittoanotherloca-
tion.
• Forinstallationandrelocationwork,followtheinstructionsintheInstallation
Manualandusetoolsandpipecomponentsspecicallymadeforusewith
refrigerantspeciedintheoutdoorunitinstallationmanual.
• The unit must be installed according to the instructions in order to mini-
mizetheriskofdamagefromearthquakes,typhoons,orstrongwinds.An
incorrectlyinstalledunitmayfalldownandcausedamageorinjuries.
• Donotaltertheunit.Itmaycausere,electricshock,injuryorwaterleak-
age.
• The unit must be securely installed on a structure that can sustain its
weight.
• Theapplianceshallbestoredinawell-ventilatedareawheretheroomsize
correspondstotheroomareaasspeciedforoperation.
• If the air conditioner is installed in a small room or closed room, measures
mustbetakentopreventtherefrigerantconcentrationintheroomfrom
exceedingthesafetylimitintheeventofrefrigerantleakage.Shouldthe
refrigerantleakandcausetheconcentrationlimittobeexceeded,hazards
duetolackofoxygenintheroommayresult.
• Keepgas-burningappliances,electricheaters,andotherresources(igni-
tion sources) away from the location where installation, repair, and other air
conditionerworkwillbeperformed.
 Ifrefrigerantcomesintocontactwithaame,poisonousgaseswillbere-
leased.
• Ventilatetheroomifrefrigerantleaksduringoperation.Ifrefrigerantcomes
intocontactwithaame,poisonousgaseswillbereleased.
• Allelectricworkmustbeperformedbyaqualiedtechnicianaccordingto
localregulationsandtheinstructionsgiveninthismanual.
• Do not use intermediate connection of the electric wires.
• Useonlyspeciedcablesforwiring.Thewiringconnectionsmustbemade
securelywithnotensionappliedontheterminalconnections.Also,never
splicethecablesforwiring(unlessotherwiseindicatedinthisdocument).
 Failuretoobservetheseinstructionsmayresultinoverheatingorare.
• Wheninstallingorrelocating,orservicingtheairconditioner,useonlythe
speciedrefrigerantwrittenonoutdoorunittochargetherefrigerantlines.
Do not mix it with any other refrigerant and do not allow air to remain in the
lines.
If air is mixed with the refrigerant, then it can be the cause of abnormal high
pressure in the refrigerant line, and may result in an explosion and other
hazards.
The use of any refrigerant other than that specified for the system will
causemechanicalfailureorsystemmalfunctionorunitbreakdown.Inthe
worst case, this could lead to a serious impediment to securing product
safety.
• The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regula-
tions.
• Thisapplianceisnotintendedforusebypersons(includingchildren)with
reducedphysical,sensoryormentalcapabilities,orlackofexperienceand
knowledge,unlesstheyhavebeengivensupervisionorinstructioncon-
cerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Childrenshouldbesupervisedtoensurethattheydonotplaywiththeap-
pliance.
• Theterminalblockcoverpaneloftheunitmustbermlyattached.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
serviceagentorsimilarlyqualiedpersonsinordertoavoidahazard.
• UseonlyaccessoriesauthorizedbyMitsubishiElectricandaskadealeror
anauthorizedtechniciantoinstallthem.
• Afterinstallationhasbeencompleted,checkforrefrigerantleaks.Ifrefrig-
erantleaksintotheroomandcomesintocontactwiththeameofaheater
orportablecookingrange,poisonousgaseswillbereleased.
• Do not use means to accelerate the defrosting process or to clean, other
than those recommended by the manufacturer.
• The appliance shall be stored in a room without continuously operating ig-
nitionsources(forexample:openames,anoperatinggasapplianceoran
operating electric heater).
• Do not pierce or burn.
• Beawarethatrefrigerantsmaynotcontainanodour.
• Pipe-workshallbeprotectedfromphysicaldamage.
• Theinstallationofpipe-workshallbekepttoaminimum.
• Compliancewithnationalgasregulationsshallbeobserved.
• Keepanyrequiredventilationopeningsclearofobstruction.
• Donotuselowtemperaturesolderalloyincaseofbrazingtherefrigerant
pipes.
• Whenperformingbrazingwork,besuretoventilatetheroomsufciently.
 Makesurethattherearenohazardousorammablematerialsnearby.
 Whenperforming theworkin aclosedroom, smallroom, orsimilarloca-
tion,makesurethattherearenorefrigerantleaksbeforeperformingthe
work.
 Ifrefrigerantleaksandaccumulates,itmayigniteorpoisonousgasesmay
be released.

Select a proper position allowing the following clearances for installation and main-
tenance.
Warning:
Mount the indoor unit on a ceiling strong enough to withstand the weight of
the unit.
* More than 300 mm recommended for easy maintenance.

Beextremelycarefulwhentransportingtheunits.Twoormorepersonsareneeded
tohandletheunit,asitweighs20kgormore.Donotgraspthepackagingbands.
Wearprotectiveglovesasyoucaninjureyourhandsonthensorotherparts.
• Besuretosafelydisposeofthepackagingmaterials.Packagingmaterials,such
asnailsandothermetalorwoodenpartsmaycausestabsorotherinjuries.
• Thermalinsulationoftherefrigerantpipeisnecessarytopreventcondensation.
If the refrigerant pipe is not properly insulated, condensation will be formed.
1.1. Beforeinstallation(Environment)
Caution:
• Donotusetheunitinanunusualenvironment.Iftheairconditionerisinstalled
inareasexposedtosteam,volatileoil(includingmachineoil),orsulfuricgas,
areas exposed to high salt content such as the seaside, the performance can
besignicantlyreducedandtheinternalpartscanbedamaged.
• Do notinstalltheunitwherecombustiblegasesmayleak,beproduced,
ow,oraccumulate.Ifcombustiblegasaccumulatesaroundtheunit,reor
explosion may result.
• Donotkeepfood,plants,cagedpets,artwork,orprecisioninstrumentsinthe
directairowoftheindoorunitortooclosetotheunit,astheseitemscanbe
damaged by temperature changes or dripping water.
• When the room humidity exceeds 80% or when the drainpipe is clogged,
water may drip from the indoor unit. Do not install the indoor unit where such
dripping can cause damage.
• Wheninstallingtheunitinahospitalorcommunicationsofce,bepreparedfor
noiseandelectronicinterference.Inverters,homeappliances,high-frequency
medicalequipment,andradiocommunicationsequipmentcancausetheair
conditionertomalfunctionorbreakdown.Theairconditionermayalsoaffect
medicalequipment,disturbingmedicalcare,andcommunicationsequipment,
harmingthescreendisplayquality.
• Placethermalinsulationonthepipestopreventcondensation.Ifthedrain-
pipeisinstalledincorrectly,waterleakageanddamagetotheceiling,oor,
furniture, or other possessions may result.
• Donotcleantheairconditionerunitwithwater.Electricshockmayresult.
• Tightenallarenutstospecicationusingatorquewrench.Iftightenedtoo
much,thearenutcanbreakafteranextendedperiod.
1.3. Beforeelectricwork
Caution:
• Besuretoinstallcircuitbreakers.Ifnotinstalled,electricshockmayresult.
• Forthepowerlines,usestandardcablesofsufcientcapacity.Otherwise,a
shortcircuit,overheating,orremayresult.
• When installing the power lines, do not apply tension to the cables.
• Besuretogroundtheunit.Iftheunitisnotproperlygrounded,electricshock
may result.
• Usecircuitbreakers(groundfaultinterrupter,isolatingswitch(+Bfuse),and
moldedcasecircuitbreaker)withthespeciedcapacity.Ifthecircuitbreaker
capacityislargerthanthespeciedcapacity,breakdownorremayresult.
1.4. Beforestartingthetestrun
Caution:
• Turn on the main power switch more than 12 hours before starting operation.
Startingoperationjustafterturningonthepowerswitchcanseverelydamage
the internal parts.
• Beforestartingoperation,checkthatallpanels,guardsandotherprotective
partsarecorrectlyinstalled.Rotating,hot,orhighvoltagepartscancause
injuries.
• Donotoperatetheairconditionerwithouttheairltersetinplace.Iftheair
lterisnotinstalled,dustmayaccumulateandbreakdownmayresult.
• Donottouchanyswitchwithwethands.Electricshockmayresult.
• Do not touch the refrigerant pipes with bare hands during operation.
• Afterstoppingoperation,besuretowaitatleastveminutesbeforeturning
offthemainpowerswitch.Otherwise,waterleakageorbreakdownmayresult.

Secure the suspension bolts or use angle stock braces or square timbers for bolt

bolts and piping and prepare relative holes.
