Powerstar 3-Phase
Quick Setup Guide
Installaon
Connecng cables:
1. By default, the Ulity/Grid is connected to Source A, and the Generator to
Source B.
2. 2. Minimum AC cables per phase diameters: 18kVA Powerstar: 6mm² (Source)
and 16mm² (Load). 24kVA Powerstar: 10mm² (Source) and 16mm² (Load)
Swapping the DC polarity will damage the inverter.
Connecting the Utility to the AC output port will damage the inverter
Product Support
When contacng Product Support via telephone or email please provide the follow-
ing informaon for the fastest possible service:
Error message shown on display
Type of Inverter
Serial number
Soware and Firmware version numbers
Baery type
Baery bank capacity
Baery bank voltage
The above details (apart from the Error Message should be available from your Sys-
tem Conguraon sheet in the manual). Note that the soware and rmware ver-
sion numbers plus the serial number are available from the System Informaon
screen which is accessed from the SCREENS menu.

Configuration
How to turn on the inverter and the Menu system
Press the ON/OFF buon to turn the
inverter on in auto mode. When the
inverter is ON or in AUTO mode, press
the ON/OFF buon again to turn it o.
Navigaon on the system menus are
achieved by using the direconal arrows
and the ENTER (  ) key. The EXIT
buon will return you to the previous
menu.
NOTE: The default password is 0001.
Battery Setup

Obtain the correct values from your baery manufacturer, and congure the follow-
ing Powerstar parameters (refer to secon 5. Baeries of the manual for more in-
fo):
Setpoint 071 Ba Float Cell Volts
Setpoint 072 Ba Bulk Cell Chg Volts
Setpoint 073 Ba Equ Cell Volts
Setpoint 077 Equ Enabled
Setpoint 090 Max Ba Chg Amps
NOTE: When an external Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) is connected to the
baeries, the equalising charge must be disabled to ensure stable operaon of the
inverter. The MPPT bulk and oat voltages should also be set up to be around 0.3V
higher than the values used for the inverter.
Source Setup

If an auto-start generator is connected to Source B, congure Setpoint 017 Src B
Type as generator (GEN).
If a manual start generator is connected to Source B, congure Setpoint 017 Src B
Type as ulity (UTIL).
Utility Setup

Export of excess power back into the ulity is disabled by default. If required, enable
it through Setpoint 057 Export Enabled.
Power ratings
The maximum power that can be drawn from Source A and Source B is the power
rang of the Powerstar. The maximum connuous Output power is double the pow-
er rang while the ulity/ generator is available and the baeries have adequate
charge.
NOTE: Drawing more the rated power at the Output for more than a short me is
not recommended, as it discharges the baeries which lowers their lifespan, and
might cause the inverter to trip once the baeries are depleted while the grid is sll
connected.
Beeping
The inverter will beep when a fault occurred (long connuous beeps) or when the
Output power exceeds the power rang of the inverter (intermient short beeps).
Beeping during a fault cannot be disabled. To disable beeping when output power
exceeds the power rang, congure the Keypad Opon (MENU  System Cong/
Setup  Keypad Setup) Sounds to OFF.
Minimum battery size for an 18/24kVA inverter is 600Ah @ C20.
Incorrect battery setup may cause permanent damage to batteries.
